Re: PlayStation Boss Heavily Criticises Xbox For 'Inadquate' Call Of Duty Offer

themcnoisy

I think everyone is getting this twisted.

CoD is an institution on it's own. It's ubiquitous with both Xbox and Sony. It's the shooter equivalent of FIFA being pulled on one of the 2 platforms. It's why the monopolies commissions are involved, MS want market annihilation.

And honestly that's not good. I know (and actually secretly enjoy) the console wars ongoing since forever. But this could be the end to all that if everyone leaves Sony. It will just be a choice of XBox or Nintendo and we could see a Don Mattrick situation all over again, with no Sony that's a bad conundrum.

That said if CoD stops being released on PS then every horrible casual gamer will be in team green. That's not good either.

The only option is for Sony to design a killer FPS of their own. And I don't think they have it in them as all of their multiplayer games are garbage.

Re: Talking Point: Can You Remember The First Game You Ever Completed?

themcnoisy

Loving everyone on the Amstrad CPC 464. I had a 6128 so no tape loading for me.

First proper completion was Magicland Dizzy. Back then as others have mentioned
, Games looped. Or were flipping well tough.

Playing and knowing every secret, well that's Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Those memorised maps will never leave my noggin.

Re: Two More Games Added To September 2022's Xbox Game Pass Lineup

themcnoisy

@FakeSunkist Unfortunately there won't be a typical good window for the foreseeable. God of War, Calisto Protocol, Starfield, Forza 7, Redfall, Final Fantasy 16, Hogwarts legacy. Then you have quite a few potential hits like forspoken. Typical big hitters Cod, FIFA etc. There isn't really a good slot anymore.

Re: Talking Point: How Would You Compare The New PS Plus To Xbox Game Pass?

themcnoisy

I think a lot of people in here are basing the idea that ps+ is great off the last few months.

Let me assure you for 6 months a couple of years ago the games were dire. Similar to what we get with GwG. The one saving grace with GwG is you keep the 360 games forever wherever you are subscribed or not. Could be useful if we get power cuts in parts of Europe, have a few single player 360 games installed as backup. This Month with Tony Hawk it's great on PS+ tbh.

Please stop calling for GwG to be scrapped. On that service you get 4 games a month. If the games are scrapped they will disappear,
MS won't replace it with anything. It happened with Vita and PS3 games. 6 games dropped to 2 of sometimes terrible quality.

The new service from Sony is obviously good right now. Spiderman, Death Stranding and GoT are 3 of the best games from last gen. GoT was revamped for PS5 and is fantastic imo. Unsure what they can put up in the upcoming months, if GT7 and HZDFW show up, people will stop buying full price games. So it feels kind of top loaded and I don't know where they can go from here.

Re: Review: PowerWash Simulator - A Great Way To Chill Out With Xbox Game Pass

themcnoisy

@JayJ strangely they can help in the real world. You can see the tools, brands and setups which then opens your options in real life.

I for instance have moved into a big house 🏠 and didn't really have a clue about lawnmowers or trimmers. I now have a sit down lawnmower! Which I can't get into my garden because of the tiny gates. Looks good in my garage though.

Re: My Friend Peppa Pig Is A Really Easy 1000G On Xbox Game Pass

themcnoisy

@Shigurui funny you should mention ninja garden. Started up the first one and it's too quick for my reactions these days. Got upto the plane and kept getting hammered, Ran out of health elixir and have saved at the second checkpoint with a slither of health. I think I have to go to the locked door by your initial cabin and it's like hell in that space. The mobs permanently swarm and I just don't have the health to see them off.

Re: Talking Point: Did The Series X|S Bring You Back To Xbox? If So, How Come?

themcnoisy

I absolutely hated the Xbox one and DON MATTRICK what an absolute d£#@. Didn't have an Xbox all last gen.

Anyway Phil Spencer's the man, great work. I get the exclusives arguement. No Dreams, Spiderman or Ghost of Tsushima over here and nothing so far which can compete with those particular styles. But PS doesn't have Forza Horizon, Halo (the MCC is such a boss anthology) or Ori.

I'm literally keeping my PS5 for the very few exclusives I want which is literally just Spiderman 2 and FF7 remake part 2. The console looks terrible, the controller's uncomfortable and suffers terrible stick drift (both my controller's have bad drift and Ive hardly used them) it's not as quiet as the Xbox. The future line up is weak bar God of War and even then you are paying £70 on a calculated gamble.

The Xbox looks great, is quiet, comfortable and has day 1 exclusives. It also has MS rewards which is a boon for gamers. After buying some extra months of Gamepass ultimate Im hoarding my points so I can buy a bunch of games later this year (got my eye on The Stanley farable ultra deluxe and rogue legacy 2). Im 3/4 of the way there to own both with points alone.

Xbox has the upper hand in my eyes.

Re: Commandos 3 HD, Signalis & More Announced For Xbox Game Pass

themcnoisy

@Luigisghost669 Im gonna be honest Luigisan as I see these comments all the time. So sorry you will get the sharp end of the stick.

What games are YOU looking for?

Ive Had Gamepass since January and have played 68 games. Currently Mass Effect Trilogy, Pac Man museum and have just finished Yakuza 6, Disc Room and The Walking dead Michonne. Ive Got Assassin's Creed and Cities Skylines coming up next and can't keep up with all the new stuff.

Either you aren't really a gamer or just like to moan but Gamepass is the best deal in gaming. And if you broaden your horizons you will find loads of games you like.

Re: Two More Games Are Now Available With Xbox Game Pass (June 1-2)

themcnoisy

@BundyDanger it is an issue. Game servers down - unlucky / your internet is having a bad day - unlucky / Microsoft servers go down so can't play anything on Gamepass at all like a few weeks ago - unlucky.

Offline play should be included with every game. Nothing more disheartening than getting a new game and when you try to play it with limited time, you can't.

Re: Pac-Man Museum+ Has Suffered A Rough Week On Xbox Game Pass

themcnoisy

@Zenszulu I can only speak from my own experience as a brief game tester and they usually took everything on board. The developers usually set the terms of engagement anyway. So in my experience they gave you an unfinished level and you crashed into it from all angles at different speeds. If it glitched like going through the side or floor or got stuck you mark the coordinates down on a program the developers provided. So my experience is the opposite of @Fishticon

However this was in the late 90s and things have changed a lot.

Onto Pacman and yes there is input lag. Ive died way too often from a missed move. A few games in particular are ridiculous such as Pac and pal, Super pacman and pacland.

The original pacman, 256, championship edition and the game were you hit balls off stages seem fine to me.

Re: Tunic On Xbox Game Pass Is Full Of Undiscovered Secrets, Says Creator

themcnoisy

@ibis_87 I love my indie games but you are right.

Playing Tunic was like some weird throwback and honestly Im not a fan of the Zelda RPG lite stuff so it didn't do anything for me. If you engage with an indie like I have previously with games like Rogue Legacy, The witness or Fez then great. But at the cost of getting games on par with Forza 5 or similar AAA experiences then I agree.

A lot of people say graphics don't matter. That's rubbish of course. We don't have 4k screens, HDR, unreal engine and SSDs to play a game that could easily be ported to the PS1.

Re: Review: Streets Of Rage 4 - The Best Entry In A Legendary Franchise

themcnoisy

@Rural-Bandit I think you are replying to2 year old comments ROFL.

Im With you though mate. Love SoR 4, loads of depth and the graphical style won me over. I love a couple of the set pieces as well.

1 - the dojo section with waves of goons over 3 rooms.

2 - The Galcias getting whipped and turning super tough (I was going to type hard then realised)

3 - Realising hitting bikes in the back yard of the pub brings our the headbutting women.

4 - Fighting on the top of the train!

Re: Pick One: Which Of These Rare Replay Games Is Your Favourite?

themcnoisy

Im Going to be in the minority but I think rare have been way overrated. Those older 8 bit games are awful nowadays, compared to say - super Mario Bros 3 - which is still playable and fun today. Jetman is the only game simple enough to know what the heck is going on with decent controls.

Even perfect dark looks like garbage and plays like it was made a century ago. I need to give banjo another look as y'all can't be that wrong.

I think the Conker remaster was a great experience on xbox, the N64 one is a bit too blocky these days.

So Ive plumped for conker and it would struggle to get in my top 150 games Ive ever played.

Re: 343 Details Updates Coming To Season 2 Of Halo Infinite Multiplayer

themcnoisy

So Ive just completed Halo CE,2,3,ODST and Reach. Absolutely amazing, CE shows it age with the repetition of some stages and 2 shows it's age with the long road sections. But I loved replaying every single one!

Jumped onto Halo 4 last night and it's so full of sci fi jumbo and nonsense it's hard to enjoy. I couldn't put my finger on why I disliked infinite and it has the same issues. You wake up from hypersleep and are thrown into a crazy situation. You have to power down cores and just general time wasting rubbish. The set pieces are weak and it doesn't feel right. The gunplay is great but 343 need to go back to what made the originals so brilliant.

Re: Jim Ryan Argues Xbox Game Pass Model Would Lead To Weaker PlayStation Games

themcnoisy

Im loving gamepass but to a degree he has a point. The last of us, Spiderman, HZD, Dreams, Detroit become human and Ghost of Tsushima all blew me away. I haven't had that feeling other than FH5 on the Xbox. Let's see what happens later in the year.

I actually bought GT7 and it's fundamentally great. The driving is fantastic. However the graphics look a bit weird imo and too clinical, the grind is ridiculous and there are other glaring issues. Destruction Allstars is also a terrible game. Sony need to stay away from live service. Stick to what you know son.

Re: Former PlayStation Exclusive Godfall Arrives On Xbox This April

themcnoisy

Has anyone here actually played godfall?

I really liked it. When it released it was full of bugs and the story is truly rubbish. The hubworld equally embarrassing.

But there is a great game hidden underneath if you play it on normal or hard. The graphics on PS5 were gorgeous and I really love the art style. The fighting is imo the best 3d fighting mechanics outside of Soul Calibur. Just a joy to use. It's fully patched these days. I will replay if it come to GP.

I don't recall microtransactions as others are mentioning above, although that could have been added. Everything used to be in game unlockable.

Re: Sony's MLB The Show 22 Launches Day One With Xbox Game Pass

themcnoisy

@Bdbrady im not complaining Brady, but - if I was working at Sony - no way on Earth I would allow my premier baseball game to be on Gamepass. Sell it on Xbox, sure MLB put paid to that. But allowing it on Gamepass and it's £60 on your own console. It's so stupid I can't fathom the idiocy.

Re: Sony's MLB The Show 22 Launches Day One With Xbox Game Pass

themcnoisy

The Show deal is very strange. Obviously great for us with Gamepass (started last year's version, last night funnily enough) but makes absolutely zero sense from Sony. As it was such a belligerent business decision last year that to follow it up in 2022 makes me question wtf they are thinking. Ive bought 2 versions of the show on PS4 and really enjoy it and to be getting it for free* on Gamepass is ridiculous frankly. Sony have well and truly lost all sense of gamer culture.

Re: Forza Horizon 5 Surpasses 15 Million Players Worldwide

themcnoisy

@Medic_Alert in your statistics you are forgetting pre owned games. My two colleagues in work never buy new as an example, or on day one.

As for most played, games that have regular rewards and are set up as a service will sucker people in. Over say Miles Morales (which is an absolutely insane good looking and playing game). As I platted that over 10 days compared to say Rocket League which I will never finish.
