Online retailer that sells digital goods is upset about consumers being offered more options. Retailer is worried less people will buy digital and will search for cheaper physical copies to convert to digital licenses. Retailer is lashing out and using derogatory slang.

At least thats how it looks to me.

Likely to be a big show from Sony. They are even returning to movie theaters for this, something not seen in nearly a decade from them.

Helix is a small factor. The bigger reason is Playstation's PC ports haven't sold as well as they had hoped outside a few exceptions. This has been known for awhile.

To further elaborate: early access is not worth $80. You are being shafted pre ordering the premium addons bundle. I bought the premium version of FH5 and it took almost a full year for the first expansion to even drop. In that time the premium add on bundle had gone on sale multiple times climbing as steep as 50% off.

You're not getting a deal. You're getting taken advantage of. Simple as that.

Looks fun but I can't / won't support $80 addon bundles. $40 for premium upgrade was reasonable.

I'm not going to pre order. Hell Let Loose was a mess on Xbox when it launched and now the developers have chosen to skip consoles for both rounds of open & closed beta testing. Not a great sign when they are seemingly hiding the console versions.

I'm looking forward to battling for best lap times in the rivals mode. Still proud to have cracked the top 50 in the world D class Volcanic Sprint with the Peel Trident.

Forza Horizon 3 is still unmatched. Australia was a great map but the Hot Wheels expansion was truly special, makes the Hot Wheels in FH5 look void of creativity.

I still do. I'm excited for the AC4 remake. I would love for Rockstar to announce an updated port of GTA IV also.

@FraserG off topic but is there something you can do about the like full page advertisements on mobile? The homepage has a UFA advertisement that pops up every time and it takes up like 3/4 of the screen, has no "x", and follows you as you try to scroll down the page. It covers up every single article but the very top / recent one.

Bring back the $1/m promotions.

This sets the stage for more first party games no longer launching day one on gamepass is my guess.

It's fun when you get good boons, otherwise it's a real pain.

I have made it to the final, or I believe final boss fight but unfortunately died in the later half of the fight. So far the staff you get at the start seems to be the best weapon. Get the ice boon on your attack and that freezes as well as the 100% increased range of your attack combined with the earth god armor (+20 armor at the start of every encounter) and spell (3x strikes on foes in binding sigil) is a wicked combo. Basically felt untouchable going through the final rooms leading to the boss. I also had a 20% chance to strike twice with my attacks which activated alot because the staff attacks fast.

I had hopes this game was going to be like a spiritual successor to Sleeping Dogs but after the launch on PC my interest has gone way, way down. So much wasted potential.

Snow Day is boring and gets repetitive quickly. There's like four levels and the game is over within 4-5 hours. The south park humor and jokes aren't enough to carry the game unfortunately.

I updated and now all my games are gone in my library? Only showing me 56 games in my "full" library a mix of gamepass and games I own. Under gamepass there's only 48 games.

Where the hell are my games Microsoft? Too be clear, I'm missing dozens of games I purchased.

A memory issue, on the series S? I'm shocked.

@bad2388 The day before Helix was revealed the rumor mill started up saying Sony was stepping away from PC releases of their games and had canceled the Wolverine and Intergalactic PC ports. The next day, MS revealed Helix.

I'll believe it when I see it. One of the biggest reasons I'm buying a Playstation 6 next gen instead of an Xbox is due to this.

Fable and E-Day are going to suffer if they can't get them out before GTA VI, or far enough away from it afterwards. I know I won't be playing anything else once it comes out for a long while. I'm hoping the marketing starts soon, I'm waiting to see what kind of stuff we get with the different editions.

This is the first month of Premium instead of Ultimate for me and I don't regret it one bit. Ultimate is a huge rip off.

I'm mildly curious. I mean I installed the game again for Shattered Space and un-installed about an hour or two later without ever finishing the DLC as it really didn't interest me. Hopefully Terran Armada is better.

I'm hoping it's been worth the wait.

I have been claiming the Phantasy Star 2 bundles for a few years now without actually playing the game. I wonder how much of this stuff is waiting in the mailbox or whatever in game for me. Lol

@Kevin0104 It's already been heavily rumored that Sony is scaling back their support for PC, no Wolverine, no Intergalictic etc. This news conveniently dropped just before Microsoft revealed Helix.

In my view; without exclusives there is no reason to own a Helix. If everything Xbox makes releases on the Playstation 6 what's the point?

The fact it might play Steam games isn't a big sell for me, it will never be as powerful as my Geforce Now subscription that gives me access to a rtx 5080 rig for $20. That ship has sailed, big reason I don't own a PC is because Nvidia's streaming service is works flawlessly for me, and yes even in competitive shooters like CoD and Battlefield. I don't subscribe ever month but have used it in the past for free play weekends held on Steam of certain games and of course your gamepass library is available there.

Unless Xbox corrects course I'm really looking at the PS6 and just keeping my GFN subscription off and on for the odd PC release. (Playstation games are unfortunately absent from GFN and not many games work through play anywhere, only supporting the Steam or Epic stores.)

This is starting to be very reminiscent of when Phil Spencer said Xbox was back and there was all this momentum.

Then 'its just four games" happened.

Keeping my expectations in check until I see some real commitment from the Xbox team instead of some social media posts. Xbox needs to show me that Xbox is still worth investing in; give me a really good reason why I shouldn't buy the Playstation 6.

I don't play PC, play anywhere is useless for me.

Gamepass is nice to have but not a deal breaker when switching to Playstation since I buy most of my games and Playstation offers a similar service that gets most of the games that come to gamepass, albeit later down the line.

For me to seriously look at Helix and think there's value there Microsoft needs to revisit their exclusivity policy. Elder scrolls 6, next Wolfenstein, Psychonauts 3 etc etc announced as Helix/PC exclusives? Here's my 💰

I used to play this alot back in 2015-2016 and had fun. Might be worth diving back into with all the updates.

Excited to play it but this time I'm opting for just the base game. Microsoft is asking for way too much $$$ for the addons bundle. $30 for access via gamepass then another $80 for future DLC, come on now Microsoft.

Looking forward to Sudden Strike 5. The series was unknown to me until Sudden Strike 4 was given away as a games with gold game a few years ago and became addicted to the game. Very fun ww2 rts games.

Like others have said, I never use it. Like the Fortnite Crew pass, Ubisoft+ Classics is unnecessary and is increasing the price of gamepass.

Microsoft should just offer gamepass with things like this as optional addons to add to your subscription like subscribing to "channels" on Prime video. My guess is Microsoft makes more money this way because if we could choose, most of us would choose a gamepass with just day one games access for a cheaper price.

Will this affect Sony's sales? Probably not, especially with GTA VI on the horizon.

Unfortunately this means the PS6 will not be any cheaper than $899 when it launches more than likely. I have zero interest in project Helix after the way Microsoft handled the Series S/X generation, so much so that my launch day Series X will be the last Xbox I own.

Besides the Stalker 2 DLC I would say this show was pretty lackluster. Also using an AI to reveal games instead of an actual human was dissapointing to see, no matter how many iterations there are they still sound robotic.

The black ops 7 campaign wasn't great overall but had some fun parts. I really enjoyed how progression was shared across all gamemodes, including the campaign, so when I jumped into multiplayer I already had my favorite guns unlocked. I hope this continues in the future.

Endgame is still my favorite addition to the franchise in the last five or so years. After I completed the campaign and successfully exfiltrated from my first match of Endgame I upgraded to the vault edition. Loved the giant robot and dinosaur world boss's they did last season, hope to see more of that.

I anticipate a steep sale in the not to distant future.

Ultimate used to be the best value but ever since the 50% price hike, Premium has become the best value for your dollar. Premium gets more new games every month than Ultimate does.

As I said in the previous Marathon article, the game is alot of fun.

Judging by the user reviews across Steam (87% positive from over 9k reviews) , Xbox (4.5/5 from 385 reviews in the US region, 5/5 in Canada based on 36 reviews) , and Playstation ( 4.7/5 based on 3.3k reviews) Seems i'm not alone in really liking Marathon. Pretty crazy, this is the same game so many said never stood a chance.

Theres a few factors that will decide whether I buy one or not.

Price being the biggest factor. I am upgrading day one to a new system as I always have but if this thing is like $300-400 or more than a Playstation 6, I'm probably just going to get a Playstation 6.

If the rumors of Sony pulling back their support for PC and not committing to anymore ports of single player games, the ones I care about, then that also is something I will have to consider.

In this day and age I don't need a suped up Xbox / PC hybrid or even a PC to play PC games at their highest settings as well as taking advantage of the latest tech like DLSS 4.5 or FSR 4 thanks to streaming services like Geforce Now. What I can't play on GFN? Playstation games. Same could be true with the next Xbox and that sucks.

Thinking about it now, I think Sony knew ahead of time that this announcement was coming and "leaked" the recent rumors of no more PC ports of their games, at least single player ones.

Would make sense. There's a number of people who have been chomping at the bit to be able to play Playstation games ever since the rumors first started about Steam on the next Xbox.

This is going to be a tough sell but I'm interested in seeing how it unfolds.

Microsoft is aiming for the high end console market when their low spec / low cost (Series S) console has struggled to sell. Every quarter for the past few years hardware has dropped by double digits YoY, but somehow a very expensive console is going to fix that?

Can't say I'm surprised. Doesn't affect me though, I had already decided I'm not buying anymore hardware from Xbox.

I'm seeing several people whom spent the better part of the past year mentioning at every chance they got that the next Xbox would be able to play Playstation games, as if that rumor is true but now rumors should be taken with a grain of salt now?

"I don't care about Playstation games" - you're doing a great job showing everyone how uninterested you are when you've got like 5-6 comments alone on the subject, all coping that this isn't true.
