This does not bode well for Xbox at all. If people aren't buying Series S/X than they most certainly are not going to buy the next Xbox. I know I've already decided that the smartest move next gen is to skip Xbox and get a PS6 instead so I can ply the best games Playstation has and the best games Xbox has all on one console.
Microsoft has made it clear that Playstation is also an Xbox now and with that in mind when it comes time to decide which console to get when the next generation starts, the Playstation 6 is the obvious choice to me. Playstation & Xbox games all on one console.
This game needs more than just 3rd person, Bethesda really needs to do something about how dumb the ai is. I finished Vatican City but could not push myself to continue on through Gizeh because the AI is such a let down. It's almost insulting to ones intelligence how easy the enemies are to not only avoid when sneaking but also the combat leaves much to be desired. Don't get me started on how silly it is that they can't hear you knock someone out with a shovel or sledgehammer and their body goes crashing through some crates or something breaking them in the process and the other AI around "huh, must be the wind."
@themightyant 100% it looks absolutely silly comparing Microsoft as a whole to Sony's gaming division. The fact is Xbox is only a small part of Microsoft and because it's been really struggling, they have been forced to make these sweeping changes to their policies and releasing more games elsewhere to get profits up to make the division within Microsoft look better. Theres simply no other way to put it, Xbox needs to become alot more profitable or Satya will happily shut it down and focus on releasing games instead. This is clear as day but some people still choose to hide behind "but Microsoft is a trillion dollar company". Yes, they are. But what happens to divisions within a trillion dollar company when they don't meet expectations? All the while investing nearly $100b into it over the last 3 years? What we see now is a direct result of spending so much money and expecting their investment to start generating higher profits to make up for it.
Don't worry Satya I'm still excited about future Xbox games, I just won't be playing them on Xbox. My Series X will be the last piece of Xbox hardware I purchase from Microsoft.
I managed to push myself to finish the Vatican map but I have not touched the game since arriving in Gizeh, the game got so repetitive, I'm tired of sneaking around looking for clues there's just not enough action in the game and the super dumb ai doesn't help. Seriously, do these guys have earplugs shoved deep inside their ear canals and blackout glasses on?
Sony has no reason to release their first party games on Xbox unfortunately. Playstation is generating over 1/3 of Sony's total revenue and their stock right now is the highest it's been since 2000. In other words, Sony is riding on a ton of momentum right now as their buisness is booming. I suspect these will just be third party games.
Satya is going to make me a Xbox fan.. on Playstation. Their multiplatform strategy of porting to PS should be in full swing by the time the PS6 rolls around and every 6-12 months there will be new Xbox games releasing on the system, that is unless they launch day one like Outer Worlds 2 and Doom Dark Ages.
I never thought the day would come that I skipped new Xbox hardware but the execs at Microsoft are not making it easy to want to continue to support Xbox as a console.
To think we started the year with "it's just Grounded and Sea of Thieves."
Now we are at or approaching Xbox having no real exclusives. So dissapointing to see what has happened with Xbox. I wish they never spent so much money on Activision, that single purchase alone sped up this whole thing and why we are here now.
This solidifies that I will NOT be buying any new Xbox hardware there is absolutely no reason to if all their games will be available elsewhere. Why would I buy an Xbox and miss out on all the Playstation exclusives when I could just buy a PS6 and have their games plus Xbox's? I can see the diehard Xbox fans still trying to support the brand but it's on life support at this point and I won't be falling for it.
Very dissapointing to see. Xbox needs exclusives now more than ever and they're just handing them to Playstation while getting none in return. When is Playstation going to start porting their games to Xbox?
Why no option for A+? This was the best game awards in years. There was so many great reveals of upcoming games. I haven't felt this optimistic and excited about the next 2-3 years of gaming for a long time.
Another excellent game awards in the books! Man what a show I loved every minute of it. The Orchestra was on point yet again and Snoop Dogg put on an excellent performance as well. 2025 is looking absolutely stacked and then 2026 and beyond has some heavy hitters on the way that just look incredible and I can't wait to play them.
I have never missed watching the game awards live and this year won't be any different. This is my favorite gaming related show of the year every year they always have incredible reveals, fantastic musical performances and it's entertaining to see the winners live and listen to the winner's speeches.
That will happen when you haven't made a good game in well over a decade. Not even Microsoft could save them with gamepass money for Outriders, god that game was bad.
Microsoft really dropped the ball this generation with the Xbox brand in my eyes. They looked poised to come out of the gate swinging after purchasing Bethesda but due to mismanagement and bad PR from games like Redfall and the mixed reception of Starfield, that never really panned out. After spending over eighty billion dollars in the span of just three years, the execs now demand Xbox to become more profitable leading us to where we are now with games once thought to be a red line, never to appear on a competitors platform now are all either being discussed internally or ports have already been worked on and completed. I personally would have MUCH rathered Microsoft spent that eighty plus billion on bringing more games, securing more third party exclusives and improving their development pipeline and management. Now they simply have too many studios and they don't know how to manage them when they couldn't manage the studios they had before.
As an Xbox gamer, I'm pissed Phil dug Xbox into this hole. I bought an Xbox because it had a decent amount of the games I wanted to play exclusive to the console, gamepass was just a bonus. Now however these games are on their way to Playstation and other platforms leading me to wonder why I spent over $600 on a Series X at launch when these games would just be made available to me at some point in the future had i just stuck with a Playstation 5.
I can tell you right here, right now, i don't care if there is another Xbox after this. I'm not going to continue to invest in their consoles unless by some miracle Sony starts porting their games over to Xbox before the next generation starts. In that case having those games plus gamepass would be one heck of a bargain. Helldivers 2 on Xbox would be huge for me and I would buy it again just be able to play it on Xbox instead.
I play Xbox a ton, over 5600 hours this year alone, but if the games rumored to be headed to Playstation are true, such as the Forza Horizon games starting with 5, the next gears etc, that will be where I take my leave from the platform. As I said earlier, I bought Xbox because it was the only place to play these games on console, my preferred way to play. So if they make them available to other consoles I simply don't see the value anymore in owning a Xbox when I could be getting the best Playstation has to offer along with Xbox's over on Playstation.
I have hit my first game breaking bug. I'm nearly done everything there is to do in Vatican City but there is still a photograph I need to take at the fountain of confession but every time I get close enough and line the shot up my game instantly freezes and crashes to dashboard. I have reloaded my game three times and each time it happens. Guess I won't be getting 100% until another patch.
Took the dive and purchased the premium upgrade today. My Xbox is telling me I played five hours before turning it off.

Puzzles have been okay, some better than others so far. Nothing too difficult but also solving them is not the most rewarding unless you're going for a 100% run or something.
The gameplay however is exactly what I was worried about after reading reviews. You're not forced to sneak around, but the game certainly let's you know you're not supposed to go around beating up enemies as you get swarmed and overwhelmed by multiple enemies throwing attacks at the same time at you. The melee combat is very repetitive, I must have thrown the same punch a few dozen times and fought enemies that look the exact same as each other (sometimes they all have the same face in an area even!) In my five hour total. That's another thing, there is very little variety in enemies.
The enemy AI is also... very dumb. Even on hard you've got a very generous amount of time to get out of sight before they spot you, like they all have sand / dirt in their eyes or something. Instead of using the rifles on their backs, they decide to run after you when you're spotted to duke it out, when i first experienced this I was like "reallllllly??" You got this gun but you're going to run all the way over to me to throw punches? Lol
This game reminds me of the Thief games with an Indiana Jones paint. The stealth and combat is very alike.
So far I would give the game 5 - 6 but it could get better. I'm not a fan of the repetitiveness though, I couldn't play anymore of it and switched it off.
@PJOReilly I don't believe anything you say will get through to him. The crazy part is he seems to believe he has the right to make these accusations on a website he doesn't own or work for. There are no rights here, just like any other privately owned website, anyone and their comments can be removed for whatever reason that the staff decide. You're not protected by any freedom of speech or expression, the website has the rights over the content posted.
@jesse_dylan I never said I wanted it to be like Suicide Squad, I said I would rather play more SS than sneak around a big open map with little combat.
Wolfenstein 3 was put on the back burner for this even. I would have MUCH prefered Machinegames worked on and delivered another high octane, nazi killing adventure.
It wouldn't matter if I switched to power saving mode anyways, I never turn my Xbox off unless it resets for a firmware update. 🤷♂️
I clocked over 5,600hrs of playtime this year. Likely played just as much if not more the year before and the year before that, pretty much since I got it at launch. The rest of the time my console has been on but sitting either on the dashboard or on the internet browser where I watch movies and shows.
Just goes to show how good the quality is of these consoles. Long gone are the days of RROD. At least 30,000hrs running time and not a single issue with it.
After reading a few reviews I think I'm going to be passing on Indiana Jones. The stealth sounds atrocious, who wants to sneak around all the time? The boss fights also sound rather dissapointing aswell. I did not want a sneaking simulator, taking photos etc. I wanted an action packed indie adventure.
Oh well back to Suicide Squad since there's absolutely nothing else coming to gamepass this month I want to play.
Wow this sounds absolutely awful! The stealth sounds like what they've done / did with Star Wars outlaws where 90% of the time you're forced to just crouch & sneak around all the time.
I mean once the work is already complete making the game, does it really cost that much to port it? For example porting Spiderman 1 +2 to PC only cost Sony around 7m total for both according to the leaked insomniac documents. Xbox really isn't that much different than PS and even more identical to PC.
Surely there's enough juice there to squeeze enough to recoup costs like that if it's a similar story to porting to PC. I feel like this is more about wanting to pull more people into the Playstation ecosystem and to keep them there more than it is a cost vs profit scenario.
@PsBoxSwitchOwner They won't because this fools enough people into thinking they are still getting the same amount of games as before. The majority of casuals on gamepass don't pay attention to what was added 6-12 months ago, especially if it's something they didn't play when it was added.
@MeanBeanEgg works flawlessly for me. The black screens I get stuck in when I try to open my map is an anomaly. As are the multiple crashes to dashboard, those aren't really crashes just more anomalies. Those npcs no longer in my game because they keep dieing walking through doorways in Zalissya and Slag Heap? Yeah just an anomaly.
@Nightcrawler71 it was, along with most of the other games on this list. Microsoft has been padding the gamepass announcements the past couple months with games they are moving over from ultimate to standard and core.
For reference we got 11 games on gamepass ultimate last year during December including games like Remnant 2, Chivalry 2 & Far Cry 6. This year we get 4 games total on ultimate. 2 indie games, one in early access, Indiana Jones and EA's poorly recieved / reviewed WRC rally game.
Honestly I'm just going to buy suicide squad for $5. Besides Indiana Jones there is nothing on gamepass this month for me so at least that will give me something else to play.
This is beginning to be bullsh*t. 4 games for ultimate members and two of them are small indie games, one of them also early access. If it wasn't for Indiana Jones this would be terrible
Based on Microsoft's history with December, there will not be another drop this month. Last year there was only one batch of games announced at the start of the month. These are your games for December, enjoy.
At this rate you're better off subscribing to Standard and just waiting for games to be moved over from Ultimate at least that way you get like 7 games.
Some people have become far to accustomed to broken game launches that they simply accept it as the new norm. That's absolute bullsh*t, it wasn't okay before and it's not okay now. I can't help but to feel like gamepass is responsible for alot of this sentiment because people don't need to buy these games so if it's broken, "oh well I didn't pay for it". Completely ignoring the people who did pay $70+ for it and downplaying their issues and concerns.
MSFS 2024 launch was cringe as all hell. People literally dropped hundreds of dollars for the premium editions and couldn't play it at all launch day or even the next day but yet you still saw the usual "thats okay I'll wait for it to be fixed, plenty else on gamepass to play".
Excited to try out Marvel Rivals. I said months ago that it was going to outshine Hypercharged Unboxed but that game has already fallen into obscurity. Why they thought releasing a Xbox port without the backing of gamepass was a good idea I'll never understand. Initial sales were good but since then it's playerbase has fallen off steeply just like it did on PC and Switch because there isn't enough substance there to keep people engaged.
Unfortunately enemies are still spawning out of nowhere behind you. I am still experiencing a black screen bug when I try to open my pda, I can still move and shoot my gun but my screen is black as if stuck between switching to the map screen. npcs are randomly dieing when they try to walk through doorways in both Zalissya and the Slag Heap now. Stealth is so inconsistent that it's not even worth trying when enemies spot you as soon as they spawn in the only places I have been able to stealthily take out some bandits is during certain quests where they are stationed and guarding an area but even then it's a real gamble whether you're spotted or not.
These patches needed more time just like the game. Why they released this game so broken is beyond me, it could have done with another delay or two.
I was initially excited for Stalker 2 but unfortunately it launched in such a broken state on the verge of being unplayable and the update yesterday and today has only been like applying a bandaid. For every fix there seems to be a new bug added to the game like getting black screen when you try to open your pda / map and npcs are now randomly dieing in Zalissya when they try walking through a doorway.
So Spyro takes the crown for November's gamepass additions.
Unfortunately I am still experiencing the black screen bug sometimes when I open my pda. npcs in Zalissya are still dropping dead in the same door way. Looks like it was mostly to fix some quest progression issues this time.
Oh well time to move the game back onto my external drive and wait for this buggy mess to finally be fixed.
@MetalGear_Yoshi I have noticed the same. Ever since the price increase and the the introduction of gamepass standard, Ultimate members have been recieving less games than in the past. The coming to gamepass announcements at first glance look normal until you look closer and see most of the games announced are already on gamepass and just being moved over to gamepass standard.
Loaded up my save and almost instantly hit softlock on my game requiring me to reload my save not once, not twice but three times before the bug would stop repeating. All I did was try to bring up my pda to look at the map after accepting a side quest and my screen went black but I could still move around and shoot, just couldn't see anything.
Fix 300 bugs, introduce new ones i guess.
Edit: Now npcs in my game are randomly dieing whenever they try walking through a doorway in Zalissya. Lmao this update needed more time to cook just like the game.
@Kraven A Life 2.0 is currently completely broken in the game (surprising I know)
Theres an excellent explanation of the current system in place on the Stalker subreddit. The gist of it is that currently A Life 2.0 is experiencing issues that roll over onto other issues with the system bringing the whole thing down. The current system only spawns npcs in on a rather small radius around the player as well causing npcs to simply disappear when they are outside that radius instead of dynamically populating the world and taking over parts of the map for their faction etc like seen in the previous Stalker game.
Abandoned point of interests are really abandoned until the player visits it, where as in the previous game that site would likely be taken over by some kind of npc faction well before you showed up which lead to fights over territory between the different factions as well.
This game really should have been delayed again there is / was so much broken. So many people have said they've un-installed which is not something the devs want to see at all especially when your game is on gamepass where everyone moves on to the next big release within a matter of weeks, Indiana Jones being the next big game.
Hoping for some nice additions to gamepass next month. Indiana could be good but I'm hoping Microsoft hasn't put all their egg in one basket banking on the game to be a big hit that will carry the month. What I would like to see:
Teardown Trepang 2 Terminator Resistance Elden Ring MGS collection
I seen a post on X from the art director of Avowed admitting they have added pro nouns and other nonsense into the game just to make people mad. Not a great look for the game if you ask me when developers lash out, insult and make their goal to make people mad with their game.
Could have just stayed silent and not antagonize the crowd that has issues with this stuff, I don't. But how this self described "art daddie" has handled the situation puts me off of the game when it sounds like someone's personal agenda is being pushed with the sole intent of antagonizing people.
@OldGamer999 It is strange isn't it? Previous CoD games Activision was quick to boast about sales or reaching milestones like crossing $1B in sales the fastest in series history, like what happened with 2022's MW2. Now the metric is engagement.
This game must be an absolute nightmare to optimize for the series S. Really wish Microsoft would have made a digital series X instead of that accursed little white box.
Microsoft just can't catch a break. They were planning to enter the handheld market because they just can't compete with Sony in the home console space, being outsold 6:1 in Europe alone last month. Now comes Sony with a handheld PS5 right behind them.

Wow this sounds absolutely awful! The stealth sounds like what they've done / did with Star Wars outlaws where 90% of the time you're forced to just crouch & sneak around all the time.

Re: Ex-PlayStation Boss Questions Why Sony Would Put PS5 Games On Xbox
I mean once the work is already complete making the game, does it really cost that much to port it? For example porting Spiderman 1 +2 to PC only cost Sony around 7m total for both according to the leaked insomniac documents. Xbox really isn't that much different than PS and even more identical to PC.
Surely there's enough juice there to squeeze enough to recoup costs like that if it's a similar story to porting to PC. I feel like this is more about wanting to pull more people into the Playstation ecosystem and to keep them there more than it is a cost vs profit scenario.
Re: Seven Additions Are Available Today With Xbox Game Pass (December 4)
@PsBoxSwitchOwner They won't because this fools enough people into thinking they are still getting the same amount of games as before. The majority of casuals on gamepass don't pay attention to what was added 6-12 months ago, especially if it's something they didn't play when it was added.
Re: Stalker 2 Dev Explains Buggy Xbox & PC Launch, Promises To Fix 'A-Life 2.0' System
Re: Xbox Game Pass: All Games Coming Soon In December 2024
@Nightcrawler71 it was, along with most of the other games on this list. Microsoft has been padding the gamepass announcements the past couple months with games they are moving over from ultimate to standard and core.
For reference we got 11 games on gamepass ultimate last year during December including games like Remnant 2, Chivalry 2 & Far Cry 6. This year we get 4 games total on ultimate. 2 indie games, one in early access, Indiana Jones and EA's poorly recieved / reviewed WRC rally game.
Re: Lots Of Big Games Are Reduced By 90-95% On Xbox This Week (December 3-10)
Honestly I'm just going to buy suicide squad for $5. Besides Indiana Jones there is nothing on gamepass this month for me so at least that will give me something else to play.
Re: Xbox Game Pass: All Games Coming Soon In December 2024
This is beginning to be bullsh*t. 4 games for ultimate members and two of them are small indie games, one of them also early access. If it wasn't for Indiana Jones this would be terrible
Based on Microsoft's history with December, there will not be another drop this month. Last year there was only one batch of games announced at the start of the month. These are your games for December, enjoy.
At this rate you're better off subscribing to Standard and just waiting for games to be moved over from Ultimate at least that way you get like 7 games.
Re: Stalker 2 Receives Another Xbox Update As Players Share Their Latest Impressions
@DennisReynolds 100%.
Re: Here's Your Final Look At Indiana Jones And The Great Circle Ahead Of Xbox Game Pass Release
Please don't be broken at launch.
Re: Two Huge Free-To-Play Games Are Releasing On Xbox This Week
Excited to try out Marvel Rivals. I said months ago that it was going to outshine Hypercharged Unboxed but that game has already fallen into obscurity. Why they thought releasing a Xbox port without the backing of gamepass was a good idea I'll never understand. Initial sales were good but since then it's playerbase has fallen off steeply just like it did on PC and Switch because there isn't enough substance there to keep people engaged.
Re: Stalker 2 Receives Another Xbox Update As Players Share Their Latest Impressions
Re: Pick One: What Was Your Favourite Xbox Game Pass Game In November 2024?
I was initially excited for Stalker 2 but unfortunately it launched in such a broken state on the verge of being unplayable and the update yesterday and today has only been like applying a bandaid. For every fix there seems to be a new bug added to the game like getting black screen when you try to open your pda / map and npcs are now randomly dieing in Zalissya when they try walking through a doorway.
So Spyro takes the crown for November's gamepass additions.
Re: Stalker 2 Update 1.01 Hits Xbox Today, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
A new update was released today.
Re: PSA: Nine Games Are Leaving Xbox Game Pass This Weekend (November 30)
@MetalGear_Yoshi I have noticed the same. Ever since the price increase and the the introduction of gamepass standard, Ultimate members have been recieving less games than in the past. The coming to gamepass announcements at first glance look normal until you look closer and see most of the games announced are already on gamepass and just being moved over to gamepass standard.
Re: Stalker 2 Update 1.01 Hits Xbox Today, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
Lol...
Re: Stalker 2 Update 1.01 Hits Xbox Today, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
Re: Stalker 2 Update 1.01 Hits Xbox Today, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
This game really should have been delayed again there is / was so much broken. So many people have said they've un-installed which is not something the devs want to see at all especially when your game is on gamepass where everyone moves on to the next big release within a matter of weeks, Indiana Jones being the next big game.
Re: PSA: Nine Games Are Leaving Xbox Game Pass This Weekend (November 30)
Hoping for some nice additions to gamepass next month. Indiana could be good but I'm hoping Microsoft hasn't put all their egg in one basket banking on the game to be a big hit that will carry the month.
What I would like to see:
Teardown
Trepang 2
Terminator Resistance
Elden Ring
MGS collection
Re: Best Stalker 2 PC Mods We'd Love To See On Xbox Series X|S
I don't believe we are going to see mods for Stalker 2 on Xbox for a very long time.
Re: Xbox's Avowed Team 'Very Confident' About Competing With Other Big Releases Next Year
I seen a post on X from the art director of Avowed admitting they have added pro nouns and other nonsense into the game just to make people mad.
Re: Black Ops 6 Biggest Ever Call Of Duty Launch Month, According To Activision
@OldGamer999 It is strange isn't it? Previous CoD games Activision was quick to boast about sales or reaching milestones like crossing $1B in sales the fastest in series history, like what happened with 2022's MW2. Now the metric is engagement.
Re: Cities: Skylines 2 Dev Struggling To Get Xbox Version Running For Game Pass Release
This game must be an absolute nightmare to optimize for the series S. Really wish Microsoft would have made a digital series X instead of that accursed little white box.
Re: Xbox Set To Be Joined By PlayStation In Creating New Handheld Console
Microsoft just can't catch a break. They were planning to enter the handheld market because they just can't compete with Sony in the home console space, being outsold 6:1 in Europe alone last month. Now comes Sony with a handheld PS5 right behind them.
