Forza Horizon 5 Hits Huge Sales Milestone In Its First Year On PS5, According To New Estimates

We've consistently heard that Forza Horizon 5 has been selling very well on PS5 since its debut last April, and now the head of Alinea Analytics — one of the firms keeping us updated on those sales — has a new update for us here as we enter 2026.

According to Alinea's Rhys Elliott, Forza Horizon 5 on PS5 has now sold five million copies since it launched last year. The analyst goes on to add that this amounts to over $300 million in revenue for Microsoft; on what's essentially a port of an old Xbox game at this stage.

Elliot also makes an interesting point about this helping Xbox's Playground Games team hit internal profit targets.

Of course, these figures haven't been directly confirmed by Microsoft (neither have those "lofty profitability mandates", for that matter), but still, Forza has charted very well on the Sony system in recent months, so it stands to reason that Xbox's open world racer has done pretty well over there. If these numbers are even close to what FH5 has managed, then we'd expect Microsoft and Playground Games to be pretty happy with the results of this port.

Forza fans on Xbox, PC and PS5 also have Forza Horizon 6 to look forward to this year, which we'll learn more about at Developer Direct this month. PlayStation fans will have to wait a little longer to play that one though; Microsoft has already confirmed a timed exclusivity period for the series' next instalment.
