The Nioh series is one that so far has stuck to PlayStation as its sole console platform of choice, but looking at the game's latest trailer, that may be about to change with the third game.

In recent days, Sony and developer Team Ninja have released a new features trailer for Nioh 3; which launches for PlayStation on February 6th, 2026. Tucked at the end of the trailer is a splash screen that confirms the upcoming sequel only has a six-month exclusivity window on PS5, opening the door for a pretty close Xbox release.

Nioh 3 Could Mark The Series' Xbox Debut As Sony Confirms 6-Month PS5 Exclusivity1

Of course, this being a PlayStation trailer, it doesn't directly mention an Xbox release — but given that the PC version is arriving day and date with PS5, any sort of six month wait would apply to other console versions rather than PC. We should hear about other platforms sometime around August 2026, then.

We now have Switch 2 out in the wild as well of course, which should be able to handle the Team Ninja title given its additional horsepower compared to the first Switch. Here's hoping both Xbox and Nintendo fans can get a taste of the Nioh series when Nioh 3's exclusivity window expires this August.
