So there isn't a second batch of games for May? Pretty dissapointing way to end the month with these two games they don't look very interesting.

My prediction: More Xbox games announced for Playstation, including Starfield.

@fatpunkslim not a single one of the games you listed are or ever were Playstation exclusives. Comparing 3rd party games made and published by companies not owned by Sony to Microsoft releasing Xbox games including flagship titles such as Forza and Gears of War is an incredibly poor comparison. What Xbox has lost is far worse from the perspective of a Xbox fan than some 3rd party games that were known to be timed exclusives on Playstation.

If all of these 3rd party developers are supposedly not making any more timed exclusivity deals for Playstation, why are there so many still coming?

It's boring. Towerborne will be another failed and forgotten about live service game, it's a shame Stoic went with this direction.

I have no interest in PC gaming so I bought an Xbox to be able to play some of my favorite staple franchises of the brand such as Forza, Halo and Gears of War along with whatever else Xbox had cooking. Now with these games no longer being locked to Xbox and instead releasing on Playstation, I don't see the value in investing in Xbox hardware any longer when I could buy a PS6 and play these Xbox games I have grown to love as well as play some amazing looking Playstation games likes Spiderman, Wolverine, Ghost of Tsushima / Yotei etc that I have missed out on this gen. Gamepass has always been a bonus, something that allowed me to check a game out and if I liked it I bought it, just like I have been purchasing all my games for the past 20+ years. Gamepass is not a very big factor to me and not enough to sway me to stay on Xbox.

Starfield is my guess and if the rumors are accurate it will be some time this summer.

Minus the setting, this is giving me vibes of an old ps2 game called Just Cause. Keeping my eyes on this one to see how it turns out.

@Balaam_ exactly. So many people seem to have the misconception that because you played it via a subscription service, you're supporting the developer. They always fall back on the deal Microsoft made with the publisher to get the game on gamepass, acting like every game gets a huge amount of cash upfront when in reality each game comes with a different deal. Microsoft's upfront money only covers so many potential sales lost, not every sale.

Personally, no. With more and more games releasing on Playstation I just don't see the value in investing in Xbox hardware any longer when Playstation isn't putting their games on Xbox yet Playstation gets Xbox games & Playstation games. I have already decided that I won't be buying the next gen Xbox and will instead be buying a PS6.

I'm hoping FH6 remains a Xbox & PC exclusive for at least a year but not holding my breath with all the money Microsoft is making on Playstation now.

@Valhura reminder that not all games recieve the same deal and there are multiple examples available of games underperforming and developers facing major layoffs despite signing a gamepass deal.

Reminder that players accessing a game via a subscription service is not a sale. Support developers, buy their game if you like it.

It's a strange sight seeing Xbox games not only releasing on Playstation but also looking and performing better on Playstation.

I thought the COd coming was the remaster of MW2's campaign. This is dissapointing, I already played MW2 2022.

Wow its like a night and day difference between the Pro and series X thanks to the ray traced global illumination and better shadows. It's funny to see some people still trying to claim there is no difference. It's just like in AC Shadows where people are saying the Pro looks no different as the same ray traced effects make a huge difference in the presentation of the game.

One positive of Microsofts ambitions to release their games on other platforms will be making next gen cheaper for me only having to buy one console to have all the games I want to play.

I remember so many people around launch saying the game was perfectly fine and ran great. These massive patches say otherwise. Lol

@donv2135 72m ps5's sold and 85% of gamepass subscribers are on console. Both numbers can be googled for easy accessibility if you're looking. But sure let's go with "what ponies said"

@donv2135 the majority of people have shown they would rather buy a Playstation than buy an Xbox for gamepass. Most gamepass subscribers are on console, by a wide margin, so the whole "you don't need a Xbox for gamepass" narrative really isn't sticking either.

@Elbow exactly what I have been saying for awhile now. "Available on gamepass" isn't as big of a deal to most gamers and consumers as "only available on Xbox & PC" is. This is why gamepass has failed to slow down Playstation sales.

Forza and Gran Turismo on Playstation is pretty crazy. Too bad Sony won't return the favor and put GT7 on Xbox.

So we should expect more games to be delayed or skipping Xbox altogether. Understood.

"Available on gamepass" or "day one on gamepass" doesn't have as big of an impact as "only available on Xbox & PC" does and i hope Microsoft realizes that sooner rather than later.

We have purchased our games for 20+ years, I go where the games are available and if Xbox games are available elsewhere, and the competitor's games are not available on Xbox, I fail to see why I should stick with Xbox.

An even better deal would be the base game for cheap. Why would I want the DLC for a a game I have never played before and don't know if I actually like to play? All these sales where the base game isn't on sale but the special editions with all the extras always looks so dumb to me.

Xbox needs exclusives. Simple as that. The gamepas factor of "it's on gamepass" doesn't matter to me as much as "it's only on Xbox & PC" does, I have no issue buying my games like I have for the past 20+ years. I don't understand why Microsoft can't see that.

Why is it always the deluxe and upper tier editions of games on sale during these sales and not the base games? I don't want the extras, I want the game for cheap.

I'm disappointed that almost everything shown today is not exclusive to Xbox. I'm starting to really wonder why I need an Xbox anymore when the games I want to play are also available elsewhere and their games are not available on Xbox.

Gamepass Ultimate used to be worth subscribing to every month but ever since the latest price increase and the introduction of Standard, we have been seeing less and less games each month vs the amount of games being moved over to standard. It's very tempting to start subscribing to Standard and only paying extra for Ultimate when there is a big day one release coming up that I want to play.

Finally some games for Ultimate members, the first 20+ days of this month was a like a kick in the teeth for us with a single game new to the service.

It's one of the worst Far Cry games in existence, even worse than Primal was.

The trend where Ultimate members lose more games than they get continues.

I'm glad I pay extra for Ultimate just to get one game. Thanks Microsoft.

Hoping for some good news today with new gamepass games being announced because as things stand January is looking awfully light and this plus carrion returning to gamepass is really not noteworthy.

Towerborne with just 0.7% of the vote 🤣 that game is going to be a huge flop and I can't wait to watch it crash and burn.

@Balaam_ That is exactly what Sony is doing. They have a long history of doing this with many of the companies they have acquired over the years. $320m investment that will see major returns off of Kadokawa's huge portfolio of Anime and video games. Now that they are majority stakeholder they will also be able to influence major decisions, including securing some of Kadowaka's IPs, both video games and anime, for collaborations with Sony's film and anime/film as well as Playstation studios.

Sony has a long history of investing in companies, eating up shares as they strengthen their ties with them before they outright aquire them. This has happened with Insomniac, Bluepoint and even Bungie where Sony held a significant amount of shares before they purchased them outright.
