I was really looking forward to it, but got turned off by the whole AI generated planet thing. Played a little bit, but didn’t stick. I wanted to love it. Maybe I’ll try again..
I honestly don’t think I even registered this game when it was released. You’ve convinced me though, and I’ll definitely give the campaign a shot. I’m still eagerly waiting for the remake of Call of Duty 4 to hit game pass. Still the pinnacle of the series.
Even though I played a TON of the original and ultimate edition, I am so excited to get back into this one. Being overly familiar is fine with me, as I was pretty annoyed with all the cosmetics and extra nonsense they added in Gears 4 and 5 multiplayer. We need a back to the basics, pure Gears experience. Hopefully E-Day leans into that.
There is nothing more I’d rather see than some gameplay for Gears of War E-Day.
Some concrete info on Fable and Perfect Dark, and finally what the hell Everwild is!
May be a pipe dream, but anything from Halo studios would be exciting. Even if it’s just the rumored Halo Combat Evolved remake. Can’t wait to see what we get!
It’s been so weird to read this website over the past year. It’s either Xbox is dead and everyone is done, or they just had the best showcase ever and Xbox is back! Price increases for anything suck, but Xbox is still my platform of choice. I’m very excited for several upcoming releases, and get plenty of use out of my console and game pass subscription.
Went back to Gears of War Ultimate Edition to play some multiplayer after the announcement of E Day. Still was able to find games of team death match. It was so much fun, and felt so good to play purely for the fun of the game instead of chasing some carrot on a stick..like every online game today.
Will also be starting Age of Empires 4. My first time playing any of the series. I’m really excited to jump in and see what it’s all about. I’ve wanted to play forever, but never had a gaming PC.
So excited for this. I’m a massive fan of the series, and while I’ve really enjoyed 4 and 5, there’s some things I really didn’t like about it. The poor choice at the end of 5 aside, I didn’t like how they made the title Gears only and all of the Fortnite esque multiplayer additions like the skins and dancing. I’m really hoping this one gets it back to its roots and has a classic multiplayer experience like the first one.
There’s quite a few first party titles I’m eager for updates on, but I think Fable might me at the top of the list. I’d be very excited to see anything about it.
I just started Tears of the Kingdom, so will be spending most of my gaming time on that. I’ll probably get some Halo Infinite in and might start Planet of Lana. Have a great weekend everyone!
It’s always great to hear from Phil even when it’s under disappointing circumstances. Redfall ultimately didn’t deliver, even though I quite enjoy playing it, but I still believe in Phil and everyone over at team Xbox. This is the reality of publishing games. Not everything is going to hit, and unfortunately for Xbox they are under a microscope right now, so the failures hit that much harder.
@LordFunkalot lol Did you read the article? He only wrote the first Doctor Strange and has nothing to do with any other marvel property. He also wrote Dune and the upcoming part 2. This is good news.
Probably for the best anyway. Microsoft does a lot of talking and marketing for a company that barely has released a first party game in years. They should stay quiet and just get their studios and release dates in order first.
I’ve been a supporter of 343 and the games they’ve made, especially Infinite, but there’s no denying it has been a bit of a disaster. I dont want to make people losing their jobs a positive thing, but this massive restructure and overhaul of the Halo franchise is the right move. They really need to take some time and rethink and retool what Halo really means to Xbox and to the studio. It’s obvious 343 has great passion for Halo, and has done some incredible things with the narrative, but it’s time for a reboot…again. I don’t mind the wait for more story content if it means they can get this whole thing back on track.
I see some comments here saying the show runners didn’t play or have any idea about the games, which is just not true. The quote that was floating around was one of the show-runners saying they didn’t play the game when they visited 343 and prepped the show, they never said they NEVER played the games. They just simply looked at the entirety of the lore and characters instead of locking themselves into just the games. The show is solid and while plenty of things to complain about, was a promising start.
On this list the one I am most looking forward to is Fable, but of course i'm excited for just about everything else. Off list it's definitely Gears of War 6, or whatever else is coming next in the series.
Man, I was really looking forward to this. At least they caught any problems with the console version before release. I’ll check this out on PC in the meantime.
Stadia was destined to fail as soon as they shut down their team that was making original games. They hired some great people, and I was genuinely excited for it. A great controller too. Sadly, it’s just another thing google gives up on. At least I’ll be getting refunded for the couple of games I bought!
@Tharsman came here to say exactly this lol. I also got the stadia controller for free, and I really liked it. Even if I never actually use it, it looks damn good!
While Infinite is my favorite of the campaigns, Halo 3 was absolutely the peak of the series. That’s not to say the Halo games since then aren’t great, but Xbox live on the 360 exploded right when this and Gears of War released, and nothing can ever match that kind of excitement. Halo 3 also came packaged with so much content. Gaming is a different landscape today, so I won’t ever expect anything like games from those days again. Halo Infinite has my favorite campaign and gameplay, but Halo 3 is the best overall Halo experience.
Looks awesome I can’t wait to play! Had a lot of fun on the redesigned classic maps from the old gears of war games in 4 and 5. Here’s hoping for a few more from Halo 2 and 3 in the future. Also, very cool this was made in Forge mode.
It’s great to see Satya Nadella so invested in Xbox. It really feels like Xbox is doing better than ever, and has full support from Microsoft. I don’t think there is any doubt the deal will get done.
I can't wait to finally get into the Persona series. I have heard nothing but great things about 5 Royal, but I am probably most looking forward to playing 4 Golden. I almost bought a PS Vita many years ago just to play that.
While I never want to see anyone have to step down in these circumstances, I think it will ultimately be the best move for both parties. She’s done incredible work for a long time at Microsoft, and really did great things for Halo, but it’s time for a shake up at 343. Hope the best for her and for the new leadership.
This era of gaming, not just for the Xbox, was the peak for me. The Believe campaign and Gears of War Mad World commercial are still the best marketing I’ve seen for a game. I have extremely fond memories of the 360, PS3 and Wii era of gaming. I don’t think it will ever be as good as that!
I have one more chapter left in The Gunk, so I’m eager to finish it off. Not sure what I’ll start after finishing it, but I’ll be putting some time into the Halo Infinite event in the meantime. Have a great weekend everyone!
@Lup Definitely dive into Gears 2! It's a truly great game, and one of the best shooters ever. The campaign still ranks at the top of the list for the series.
I felt nostalgic and went back to the 360 version of Gears of War to play through the campaign again. I also might start Tunic, or another indie game on GamePass. Have a great weekend everyone!
Looks really great! The game is coming together very nicely. I know the comments will be full of negativity, but I have had nothing but a great time playing this game.
Still having a blast with Infinite, so i'll be playing that a bit. Beyond that, might give a smaller game like Tunic a shot. Have a great weekend everyone!
I have been playing Halo for so long, but just recently started diving into all the lore. I'm very excited for this book! Halo and Gears of War are still putting out some great novels.
Overall, a very disappointing show, but Redfall and Starfield saved it for me. I graded it a B for those two alone. Starfield looks very epic, and Redfall looks really fun, and I like the vibe. I was hoping for some Halo Infinite story DLC and a Gears collection or 6 update, but once they said it was only stuff coming out in the next 12 months, my expectations immediately shifted. Also, Kojima is exciting.
@Kingleo31 I am well aware of all that. I mainly am referring to the multiplayer on the 360 games. After so many years it's full of bots and cheaters, and would be great to play Gears 2 and 3 online again.
That’s a huge bummer if this turns out to not be real. I was really looking forward to jumping back into Gears while I wait for 6. At the very least I’d love a Gears 2 edition similar to what they did for Halo 2.
@Korgon Exactly my experience. Sure, I’ve encountered a few bugs here and there, that goes for literally every multiplayer game I play, but nothing at all to suggest this game is “broken”. I find the game overall to be a great experience.
I finished the Halo Infinite campaign, so I'll be returning to the multiplayer for a bit. I also started the Gunk, and want to play more of The Artful Escape. Two really awesome games.
I'm still totally hooked on Halo Infinite. The campaign is incredible, and I can't wait to play more of it. As soon as that is finished I'll start The Gunk.
I would have loved to vote for Psychonauts 2, it's really a phenomenal game, but it's all about Halo Infinite for me. I think the campaign and the multiplayer is the best in the series. I haven't enjoyed a game this much in a while.

Re: Rumour: Xbox Could Be Targeting A 2025 Release For Gears Of War: E-Day
