@Foxx_64740 I’ve limited myself to only taking everything that isn’t nailed down that sell for 50 credits or more. Fire extinguisher sells for 105? Don’t mind if I do, hope they don’t have a fire anytime soon! I’m already loving this game. I’m working my way to The Lodge to nab me that suit.

Edit: Here’s a tip, don’t bother looting everything like I did as vendors only have a limited amount of credits to buy the things you sell, also the stuff you do sell is way way less than its value. That fire extinguisher that’s valued at 105 credits? Vendors were offering me 13 measly credits. I’ve cleaned out both vendors in New Atlantis for just over 20K credits and I’m still over encumbered with tons of junk to sell. So stupid of me but lesson learned.

Thanks for the tip @PJOReilly and for all the other tips. I’ll definitely be taking advantage of nabbing the spacesuit before it most likely gets patched.

Quick question, is it worth looting everything in sight to then sell for quick credits? I’m very early in the game, just past the character creation screen.

I’ve put my 3 traits as:

Hero Worshipped - I think having the Adoring Fan as part of the crew will be great (at least at first) who will be unique with his dialogues and giving you gifts but if he ever annoys me too much then I could always put one in between his eyes and be done with him haha.

Kid Stuff - I feel this adds a bit of a personal touch to your character, being able to visit your parents. Although paying 2% to them whenever I earn credits, I sure hope I can help myself to whatever I want in their house and able to sleep there whenever I visit.

Introvert - Seeing as I’ve always played as a lone wolf in the Elder Scrolls and Fallout games I thought this trait would make sense for my play through with this game, I may as well benefit from it once I’m able to explore on my own.

I was thinking of putting Dream Home but GalBank taking $500 credits weekly, which doesn’t pay towards paying the house off has put me off the trait but then I don’t know if $500 is even that much in Starfield and that if I’ll even notice the money is gone if credits are in abundance? But are we really going to be spending much time in these homes when there’s a universe to explore?

Wait so Starfield actually includes real-life planets like Earth, Mars, the Moon etc? I thought all the planets were fictional. I honestly can’t wait for Wednesday to play this.

I’d like hear people’s impressions on the game, I care less for reading reviews from different site’s reviewers, I want to hear from actual fellow gamers and even from the guys here on PureXbox.

I never got round to finishing Skyrim but completed both Fallout 3 and 4 with all their add-ons. Due to family and work, I think I’ll just be mostly exploring and doing the odd mission here and there as the game sounds like it’s massive.

I get why the release times are the way they are around the world so everybody gets to play the game at the same time but I could never be fully immersed into a game of this type at 1am in the morning, bad timing for Europeans but elsewhere are decent. Can’t wait until next Wednesday!

Almost 1000 games discounted? I’m on the Xbox Store right now and it only says 526 under ‘Xbox game specials’. There’s nothing I want that I already own/played. I think most of us are going to be slightly busy with a certain game this weekend 😉

I don’t agree with Mark Kern’s comments but even I dislike the grey box background on the menu options. It just screams retro and looks out of place with how clean the rest of the screen looks. I’d personally make the grey boxes completely transparent and an option to get rid of the welcome message if it doesn’t already fade away itself.

Will blast its way onto Game Pass when? That’s all I care about because I’ll never buy an Activision game again now they are all going to be on Game Pass.

I wouldn’t blame PS5/PS4 and Switch owners scoffing at that price, it’s ridiculous when you can get it for under £10 on Xbox when it’s on sale or buying a pre-owned physical copy. Either way I’m glad I’ve got it BC on my Series X. It’s a shame we didn’t get that remaster/remake that we all thought we were going to get.

@johnK You can smooth out the pixels in the settings to give it a cleaner modern look which is what I did. It’s a great little game.

This is a prime example of the Series S holding back the Series X. Microsoft really need to get rid of the feature parity clause or have dedicated teams to help third party studios to get their games working on Series S as this is down to MS deciding to release a weak spec’d console this gen. As the console generation goes on and with games getting more technical, devs are only going to be able to do what they can to get their games running on the Series S.

I’d want to see how this remaster compares to the One X version before I even consider buying it because the One X version looks good enough in 4K. One improvement that I can see it needing is the game running in the same engine as RDR2 but they would be a remake so that won’t be happening.

Joke aside, I’d love to see Dino Crisis make a comeback as I loved it back in the day. I am enjoying my time with Exoprimal but after a few matches at a time it does become repetitive so I only play a couple each day.

I’m not buying it, I can wait 5 days. We don’t even know how good or how long the expansion is. Plus the base game is going to be huge as it is so I don’t see the need for any expansion so soon after release. Rather play the game for just £7 a month (get my GPU codes from CDKeys) than paying more just to play early or paying £70 to own it.

I’m sure I own one of the Black Ops series but I forgot which one it is.

So for those of us who don’t own all the older CoD titles, we should be hearing about the merger being made official today right? Since it’s deadline day? I thought MS and ABK would of closed it over the weekend just gone. I’m even looking forward to playing the campaigns again from both CoD 2 & 3 once they hit Game Pass.

@trev666 If you’ve been gaming on Xbox and reading Xbox related news for the past 15 years then I don’t get how you could not know who Major Nelson is? He was always popping up on our dashboards during the Xbox One era as well as doing interviews and appearing in numerous videos (can’t remember if he was during Xbox 360 era as well?). I could understand if you’ve only just joined Xbox with the Series generation but to not recognise a prominent figure within the gaming community, let alone Xbox’s who’s been around for over two decades? 🤨

Anyhoo I wish Major Nelson the best in his future endeavours, he’ll be missed and will certainly go down as a legend.

I loved TDU 1&2 back in the day but I honestly didn’t like what I saw of the gameplay reveal of Solar Crown, it looked way too arcadey like a Need for Speed game. I’d say The Crew Motorfest looked a better game despite me being burnt-out with the Forza Horizon series.

@JayJ I also loved how much more detailed and in-depth TDU was, like winding the windows down, putting the convertible roof down, putting on indicators, headlights etc. Not even sure if we can do those things in Solar Crown?

@Kaloudz Once all the games from Activision hit Game Pass it’s just going to make the recent price hike of GPU slightly more justified, I would of kept paying it each month regardless of whether the merger went through or not but seeing as it most likely is now, the value of GPU will just be much more astronomical.

Wow about time, the end is in sight! Now we just need the CMA to get a grip of itself, they are literally the only ones who are being awkward and it will say a lot more about them than ever before.

@Kaloudz I never thought I’d ever look forward to seeing more news regarding the Activision buyout but since it was rumoured that a decision could be made last week, which obviously never materialised…..as I was typing this I just saw other people’s posts that a decision has been made and that the FTC has lost! Yes get in there!

Surely now this merger is practically guaranteed to go ahead, even Diablo 4 will be added to Game Pass once everything is official, regardless of what has been said?

@gollumb82 If your so sure that a PS5 Pro and/or a more powerful version of the Series X wouldn’t be able to do 4K @60fps with ray tracing at under £1000, then what would be the point of either console then? I don’t think either of them are needed right now, the PS5 and Series X are both not being fully utilised yet but I do expect the next generation of consoles to do full 4K @60fps with global illumination ray tracing as standard and also 4K @120fps without ray tracing. Otherwise what else can they offer that the current consoles can’t?

But why? Physical discs are well on their way out, going the same way as DVDs and music CDs. Almost everyone is all for digital these days and seeing as the Series X will be the only system that will make use of physical copies of Starfield it won’t be enough to justify having a physical option at all.

Games like Alan Wake 2 have got the right idea of going digital only and reducing the launch price as they are saving on not having to pay to distribute physical copies, plus companies these days are boarding on the wagon of saving the planet and reducing carbon footprint, they will also be reducing costs and maximising profits. There’s no positives to having a physical copy these days seeing as it’s basically just a license that allows you play the game and there’s day one patches so your going to be online for it anyway even if it’s only once. You may argue that you can sell it second hand and get some cash back for it but I can’t wait for the day brick and mortar stores like CEX to close down when there are no more physical copies because that’s happening in the very near future, Alan Wake 2 is proof of that.

Can Farworld Pioneers really be described as an "open-world galactic sandbox"? It just looks like a retro 2D side scroller to me. I’d certainly understand describing Starfield as an "open-world galactic sandbox" though.

Dead Island 2 may not have made the list but I enjoyed it a lot more than any of the games in the top 10. It’s all a matter of opinion as I’m sure someone out there likes Redfall over the rest but imo it’s the worse game I’ve played this year so far.

Yes! Been waiting for this to be added to Game Pass. You’d think me being a footy fan that I’d buy Fifa every year but even I wouldn’t pay full price for small changes like shirts, commentary and pitch deformation when slide tackling. I’m excited to see what the new EA Sports FC is like.

I think it’s going to come down to the EU verdict. If it’s blocked then the deal is dead but if it’s approved then I think MS will fight hard against the FTC as they are more likely to win against them than the CMA. May 22nd is the day we will find out whether the deal is over or going through.

@UltimateOtaku91 I absolutely agree with your comment about there being no better time than now to own all 3 consoles this generation but despite Xbox going the way of cloud gaming, I do hope Microsoft keep making Xbox consoles in the future. It simply wouldn’t be the same just loading up a Game Pass app from a TV or any other device without the console but I’m not naive as it would save the company millions by not producing consoles which always sell at a loss.

I don’t see Microsoft doing away with consoles for at least of couple of generations yet as streaming is still way off for the masses who are yet to have decent enough internet for streaming.

I’ve just played this game for about 25 minutes and that was enough time for me to decide to quit and uninstall, it is such a mess of a game. Changing the camera settings for lower input lag is a decent solution for now but it’s nowhere near enough to make the game an improvement when it’s got a ton of other problems.

The graphics are terrible, it honestly looks like an early Xbox One game and the fact it has not got a 60fps mode at launch proves it’s just been rushed out. I’ll check back on the game when it’s received enough patches and added the 60fps mode, basically once it’s running as a current-gen game and not last gen.

If I was one of those who paid £70 for this monstrosity I’d be demanding a refund straight away as in it’s current state, it’s not even worth £20.

Wow I wouldn’t of expected that reaction from one of worlds biggest tech company. I hope Brad Smith is speaking for himself here and not on Microsoft’s behalf because I’d of expected MS to be a bit more classy and professional with its response to this.

If this is indeed MS’s reaction then they must know that the deal is never going to happen. They are appealing it and still seem confident of the deal passing but Brad Smith’s comments suggests otherwise.

I saw someone post either on here or on pushsquare quoting the CMA for their reasons for the block that it’ll prevent future companies in the Cloud space to compete with MS and the person who posted made a point saying that “If’s and but’s don’t apply to the law, only cold hard facts”. He/she was basically saying the CMA can’t speak for companies that don’t even exist. Plus Cloud gaming hasn’t even really took off yet.

Can MS take the CMA to court like with the FTC? Because I don’t think the CMA will have a leg to stand on when it comes to presenting evidence to make a case to block the merger.

@BAMozzy If the deal doesn’t go through ABK can’t point the blame at Sony as they are not the reason the deal has been blocked. Sony may have protested against the merger but they didn’t help block it. Plus even if ABK gave the marketing rights for CoD to Xbox and even put it on Game Pass day one, it will most likely not make a difference as many of the copies will be sold on PS even without all the marketing.

If the merger doesn’t happen at all then I really think MS should purchase Square Enix or Sega more for Japanese gamers to boost its Xbox brand over there and one or two big players like EA, Ubisoft or Take Two.

sign L.A. Noire is never going to go less than £17.49 is it? I’ve already finished it on Xbox 360 but it’s been that long I’ve totally forgot what happens in the game that it’ll be like playing through for the first time again.

I don’t think there isn’t anything else that’s coming out this year that I’ll be spending my rewards points on so L.A Noire it is.

I’m renting this and then will buy when it’s most likely in the Halloween sale, hopefully it’ll be £24.99.

I bought absolutely nothing at all. I’ve either rented or already bought the games I’m interested in. I was hoping LA Noire would be more than the usual 50% off but it’s not even in the sale.

@WBMusic I did the same with Cyberpunk 2077 back in December, I requested a refund after an hour of playing and received the refund then bought it again a few hours later to give it a proper chance as there was nothing else I wanted in the sale. I’m so glad I did as I really enjoyed it. It has improved massively since it’s release and I’m waiting for its next big update before getting back to it.

After the Redfall debacle I wouldn’t be surprised that Starfield is only 30fps but I think it will have an inconsistent 60fps performance mode that will require multiple patches.

I’ve just finished this weeks set this morning and my streak as been reinstated back from 1 to 115. I’m pretty sure I was at 160+ week streak before the reset with about 3 weeks to go before getting the 2,500 points but I’ll take 115 seeing as there’s no added bonus once we get 2,500 points every 10 weeks.

This is not acceptable, especially on Series X which the game is expected to have a 60fps option. I’d rather they delayed the game until the performance mode is available as I’d much rather 1440p 60fps than 4K 30fps in a game like this, a fast paced FPS.

@frosty360 @Widey85 I had my Rewards Weekly Set reset today too. I was at 250+ day streak so you can imagine I’m not just going to suddenly forget to do it one week as I finish the set asap. Is there something we should do like let Microsoft know it has affected us or do we just sit and wait for them to fix it?

I really enjoyed Jet Set Radio back in the day but I’d rather see Sega Rally remade. I remembered how I loved that every lap was different due to the track deformation, it was impressive at the time.

@BrilliantBill The Ubisoft Just for You deals that was on a couple of months ago was a nice surprise and I got many just for you deals but I actually only bought Far Cry 6 gold edition for £8.50. We need more sales like that.

Most of us who subscribe to GPU most likely won’t have to worry about paying a penny for a CoD game again so long as the ABK takeover goes through without serious concessions like keeping CoD off GPU.

Absolutely rubbish sale imo. As someone already said ‘same games same prices’. At least offer a deeper discount on the same games that are constantly in the sales throughout the year.

An end of an era. As we all know E3 has been on the decline for years but it was at its peak back in the early 2000’s, it was THE main gaming event back then but as others have said, times have changed and the internet has played a massive part in it.

Even though Geoff Keighley has his Summer Games Fest and other publishers have their own events to showcase their games, the internet can still be their undoing as leaks can undermine their events and anything they reveal will be considered old news and of no surprise.

It should go without saying that there’s zero sense in buying any Activision/Blizzard games if you are a continuous Game Pass subscriber like I am.

I actually preferred Doom 3 over the 2016 reboot and Eternal despite enjoying both games. Doom 3 was more story and horror focused, whereas the reboot and Eternal took out the horror element and just made it a fast paced shooter where you just cleared out an area of enemies before moving on.

What I love about games like Doom 3 is the beginning of the game, everything seems fine with everybody going about their business then suddenly the s*** hits the fan, throwing you into the chaos and nightmare. I’m actually looking forward to trying out both Doom games on the PSVR as those are the only ones I’ve not played in the series.

@Kaloudz My memory is very hit and miss tbh, sometimes I remember things from years ago but other times I forget stuff that was said or happened the day before 😂 anyway hope you enjoy your new (old to us lol) SoD dynamic background.

@GuyinPA75 Unfortunately the melee weapons in this game will degrade, I’m not a fan either of having to keep repairing and crafting new weapons but it’s not going to stop me playing the game as it looks great. I wouldn’t write the game off just because of that one negative thing.
