Re: Feature: Pure Xbox's Game Of The Year 2021

MaccaMUFC

As someone who’s completed Control on Xbox One, would anyone recommend the Ultimate Series X version for a second play through with the graphical upgrade and DLC?

I mostly agree with PX’s list, especially Halo Infinite taking the number 1 spot. A great game that was worth the wait.

Re: Halo Infinite: How To Get The Cat Ears Helmet In Multiplayer

MaccaMUFC

@Magabro To be fair he does only play games like Fortnite, Rocket League, Roblox. He’ll try a few games on Game Pass but then always goes straight back to the F2P games. It probably would be a waste him buying a game seeing as he’ll never play it for more than an hour let alone complete it.

It’s just my opinion that cosmetics in F2P games are just an absolute waste of money when they do nothing to add to the gameplay experience and nobody online could care less what new cosmetic you’ve just bought.

Re: Amazon UK Gets Significantly More Stock Of Xbox Series X Consoles

MaccaMUFC

@Bobobiwan Even scalpers have to buy stuff for Christmas like presents for family and friends, Christmas dinner stuff etc. I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the reason they are not bulk buying consoles

Hope everyone who wants a Series X manages to get one, it’s a great time to be an owner with amount of quality games on Game Pass.

Re: Halo Infinite: How To Get The Cat Ears Helmet In Multiplayer

MaccaMUFC

The cat ears do make the online Spartan characters stand out from the rest but I wouldn’t pay £7.99 for it. I’m working towards unlocking the Peppermint Laughter skins, I’ll be happy with those and it’s even better that I’ll unlock them for free.

@Bobobiwan That is what I try and convince my son to do whenever he gets £50 Xbox gift cards for b’days and Xmas, I say to him “instead of spending it all on some skins on Fortnite or Rocket League, which nobody cares about what you look like, spend it on some games in a sale” but it’s like talking to a brick wall. I now let him get on with it and hope he realises one day just how much of a waste of money it all was.

Re: 'Father Of Xbox' Seamus Blackley Admits He Was Wrong About GTA 3

MaccaMUFC

I think if Microsoft had agreed to have GTA 3 on the original Xbox, that they would of bought Rockstar Games with how popular GTA 3 became when it released and also how well it sold. If that did happen though I don’t think GTA would of been the same as we know it today, so it’s probably a good thing that it just wasn’t meant to be.

Re: Ubisoft Announces Splinter Cell Remake, 'Built From The Ground Up'

MaccaMUFC

Matt West: “The original Splinter Cell has a lot that was amazing and revolutionary at the time it came out, 19 years ago”

Yes it was amazing and revolutionary, 19 years ago. Why not take a risk and make an entirely new Splinter Cell game that is amazing and revolutionary for this era? I already have Splinter Cell on my Series X and as with all original Xbox games that are backward compatible, it’s already enhanced with 4K and 60fps.

I’ll still play the remake but seriously what is the point in revisiting old games on powerful consoles like Series X and PS5 when they are capable of handling games that can do stuff that was never possible on previous consoles? Too many developers have been remastering and remaking their games for the past two console generations now when they should be spending their time, money and resources on making new and innovative games.

Re: Stalker 2 Is Getting NFTs, And The Developers Have Explained Why

MaccaMUFC

If the average person can see NFTs for what they really are, then why isn’t there already a public outcry about it? Because I bet if enough noise is made I’m sure the developers wouldn’t implement them in their games if it had a profound negative effect from their core audiences, as in the people who are buying/playing the game purely for it’s gameplay and story. But unfortunately, the people who would support NFTs are the casual gamers who massively outnumber the hardcore gamers and also those who just disagree with NFTs in games. Sad times but this is the way the gaming industry is headed whether we like it or not.

Re: Aaron Greenberg Says He 'F***ing Loves' Banned UK Xbox Advert

MaccaMUFC

It’s mental that an advert can get banned because only 130 people complained, obviously they were a sensitive bunch with no sense of humour. There should be about 50K complaints before Ofcom can make a decision and take action.

Just like in Parliament after 10,000 signatures, petitions get a response from the government. After 100,000 signatures, petitions are considered for debate in Parliament. This should be the case with Ofcom. Not take action because of 100 or so overly sensitive, humourless cabbages.

Re: Random: Of Course Phil Spencer Is Playing Halo Infinite's Campaign

MaccaMUFC

@WallyWest I agree with you about Phil playing games, he’s more likely to be noticed and respected by gamers who he can resonate with when he shares the same passion and hobby. People like Jim Ryan and Bobby Kotick are just simply businessmen in suits who only care for profits regardless of how it’s earned no matter how controversial.

In regards to Halo Infinite I’m loving it but after exploring Zeta for a bit, I realised what’s shown on the map is the full open area of the game. I was like “is that it!?” I honestly thought that was one part of the open area of the game and that there would be more landscapes to explore as I progressed through the story. So despite the “open world” being really small, I’m having a great time with it.

Re: YouTuber Shares Footage Of Getting Max Payne For Xbox In 2001

MaccaMUFC

I remember that feeling when I first got Max Payne for PC. I was really looking forward to it coming out for a long time, reading all about it in magazines.

If Max Payne isn’t in the upcoming Xbox Christmas sale I’m just going to buy it at £11.99 it’s well worth it, enhanced with 4K and 60fps with the added bonus of that nostalgic feeling. I’ll buy Max Payne 2 as well and will wait for a sale for 3.

Re: The Matrix Awakens Now Live On Xbox, Here's A Look At The Full 'Experience'

MaccaMUFC

People are actually impressed by this? I didn’t think it looked that impressive, the picture quality for one looks like it’s grainy, not clean or sharp. Also when roaming the city it reminded me of The Getaway from the PS2 but as if it was running on UE4.

The size of the city with the traffic and pedestrian density, even from afar, was definitely next gen-like but apart from that what else are people gushing over that we haven’t seen from other games this gen? There’s definitely other better looking games out there than this but I know games like Gears 6 will look amazing with UE5.

Re: 343 Reveals Halo Infinite Download Sizes For Campaign & Multiplayer

MaccaMUFC

That’s a very small download for a game like Halo, especially considering Infinite is more open world and the fact it’ll be more demanding from the hardware it’s playing on due to having more assets and better graphics than previous games in the series. Does anyone know if Infinite is the biggest campaign of the series?

Re: Phil Spencer Thinks The Xbox Of Today Could Have Held On To Bungie

MaccaMUFC

@Magabro They left because they wanted their own independence but then signed with Activision…🤔 I suppose now they really have their independence now that they have split with Activision.

@BAMozzy I agree Destiny would be perfect for Game Pass and with the rumours about Microsoft wanting to acquire Bungie again but talks not going ahead because Bungie’s asking price is too high, if true why would money be an issue? It would be massive if MS had Bungie with Xbox Game Studios again.

But as I said in my earlier comment, Bungie are just not the same anymore since a lot of key people have left who were involved in the first few Halo games. 343i look like they are starting to show promise with Infinite and at this moment in time, would prefer they were working on the Halo franchise rather the current Bungie team.

Re: Phil Spencer Thinks The Xbox Of Today Could Have Held On To Bungie

MaccaMUFC

Bungie are just not the same anymore since they split from Microsoft so it’s no real loss not having them part of Xbox Game Studios. But if they had still remained then I bet they would of still remained the old Bungie we knew from the first Halo games. Nevertheless I’m happy with what 343i have been doing with Infinite and can’t wait to get into the campaign on Wednesday night.

Re: Two New Dynamic Backgrounds Are Now Available On Xbox Series X|S

MaccaMUFC

@leathco Your kidding right? The other Halo dynamic background with the Zeta Halo ring in the background is so much better. With a landscape there’s much more to see which has a smouldering Wasp vehicle, a Pelican with its thrusters glowing, multiple blue flares shooting up into the sky from the Forerunner structures, Master Chief’s amour and visor glinting.

The new Courage background just has some Needler shards passing in front and behind Master Chief and a marine, that is it.

Re: How To Fix Brightness Issues With The GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition

MaccaMUFC

I’ll be giving this temporary fix a try when I next play GTA III as there is sometimes a really dark scene where I can barely make out the characters faces.

The rain in GTA III is horrendous, it’s just like a load of lines covering the screen making it hard to see anything it’s really annoying. I just watched the official trailer for the trilogy and the rain from GTA III looks fine on there, Grove Street Games have actually made it worse in the final build. A lot of NPC’s heads are really small too, it looks so weird. I hope they get patched soon.

Re: Kill It With Fire On Xbox Game Pass Is Perfect For Achievement Hunters

MaccaMUFC

@101Force As someone who has over 530K Gamerscore, I feel I get more out of a game when going for certain achievements, as you may well know yourself. You can sometimes discover something in a game by going for a certain achievement that you would otherwise of missed if you didn’t go looking and they can sometimes make you play in a unique way.

When I reached 500K I thought to myself that I’m just going to play games without going out of my way to unlock certain achievements, well I just can’t seem to stop myself lol I’m just glad I’m not a completionist as they are a completely different kettle of fish, I wouldn’t like my life taken over feeling like I need to 100% every single game I play.

Re: New Screenshots Of GTA Trilogy Remaster Revealed Via Xbox Store

MaccaMUFC

@themightyant I wasn’t expecting a full remake as I consider those to be built from the ground up but there are a lot of remasters out there that only bump up the resolution and that’s it. This Definitive Edition goes beyond that and makes many changes that improves the game in many ways, that to me is more than just a simple remaster which is why I said I consider it to be more than just that.

It’s the same with Call of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered, to me that’s more closer to a remake than just a remaster.

Re: New Screenshots Of GTA Trilogy Remaster Revealed Via Xbox Store

MaccaMUFC

@InterceptorAlpha There are many games out there that are remastered but a lot of them simply just have a lick of paint over their originals. There’s been many changes with improvements to this new GTA trilogy and I’ll list what themightyant has already listed such as, improved textures, character and vehicle models, weather, foliage, surfaces and draw distances, as well as updated controls and targeting and also updated sound effects. So there’s much more than just better lighting.

You claim there is a PC version that looks similar, care to provide a link to prove it?

Re: New Screenshots Of GTA Trilogy Remaster Revealed Via Xbox Store

MaccaMUFC

@InterceptorAlpha Please show me the PC version that looks just like this Definitive Edition. I’ve just did a quick search and the best PC version I found just looks a lot similar to the PS2 version. This new Definitive Edition is a massive improvement in every way as @themightyant listed. In my eyes this trilogy is more than just a remaster, it’s a remake to me.

Re: 343 Industries Outlines Halo Infinite's Battle Pass Plans

MaccaMUFC

@k3lt0n I think the Battle Pass will be like Fortnite’s, where you pay for each new Battle Pass that expires at the end of each season but unlike Fortnite, you can keep earning all in-game cosmetic rewards after the Battle Pass expires. Unless your planning to play nothing but the multiplayer and unlock everything the Battle Pass offers, I don’t think it’s worth it if the multiplayer is something your only going to come back to now and again. That’s what I’ll be doing just playing the multiplayer from time to time as I plan to play the campaign as well as other games.

@UltimateOtaku91 I think jimmy10nis means to say the multiplayer is free to play. To add, the full game is also on Game Pass day one at no extra cost if you already have GP. It’s just the Battle Pass that costs extra if you want the exclusive cosmetics.

Re: GTA: San Andreas Is Now Available To Pre-Install With Xbox Game Pass

MaccaMUFC

A great addition to Game Pass but I was always going to buy the trilogy even if III and Vice City was also coming to GP as you just know it’ll be on the service for no more than 3 months going by past Rockstar games.

I’m pre-ordering the trilogy tomorrow and using my Microsoft Rewards points, £15 worth, towards it so I’ll be paying £40 for it which is a great price for what we’re getting IMO.

Re: Games With Mouse & Keyboard Support On Xbox One, Series X, Series S

MaccaMUFC

As we are now able to stream games from Nvidia GeForce Now through the Edge browser, surely that increases the list massively for mouse and keyboard support? I’m considering subscribing to Nvidia GeForce Now but is it hit and miss when streaming from the Edge browser on the Series X? I do have excellent internet connection/speed.

Re: Philips Reveals Two New 'Designed For Xbox Series X' Monitors

MaccaMUFC

@Nexozi What about Philips TVs? Specifically the Mini LED 9636? I know you’ve got an LG OLED tv but OLED is out of the question for me. I was going to go for the Samsung 95A but it doesn’t have Dolby Vision but the Philips 9636 does, as well as everything else. The only other option with Mini LED is the LG Nano 996 (the 916 4K model doesn’t do 120Hz) but that has an IPS panel so that’s a nope straight away.

Re: Philips Reveals Two New 'Designed For Xbox Series X' Monitors

MaccaMUFC

These are good if your after a monitor and don’t mind the smaller size compared to TVs. Personally I’m going for the 65” 9636. It’s got everything for the Series X. I was going to go for the Samsung Neo 95A but I’m sick of them never implementing Dolby Vision after omitting them for years with every new model. I’m intrigued by the 4 sided Amiblight which many say is really great.
