I had zero clue on what was going on or what I was supposed to be doing but it’s not great when it doesn’t even explain what’s what. I really don’t understand all the high score reviews it’s been getting across the board, it’s being made out to be GOTY so far which is absolutely bonkers to me as I’m having so much more fun with Saints Row, there’s many more thing to see and do in that game compared to Immortality which scored 10/10 on here but Saints Row got 4/10? Like I said absolutely bonkers 🤯

I’m not surprised Phil doesn’t game for longer with him being a CEO at Microsoft, I bet it would be more if it weren’t for him being so busy with the responsibilities that goes with the job role.

When I’m in a daily routine with the kids at school, I’d say I game for about 48 hours a week. It’s more when they off on school holidays seeing as I don’t need to go to bed early but it all depends if we’re having days out, doing activities etc, then it’s less.

I think I know what I’m spending my rewards points on. This looks great, I just hope the map is large enough for me to spend hours exploring.

Why is there five modes on Series X? The game should be capable of running at 4K 60fps anyway, if not just two modes would suffice with fidelity and performance. The Series X is powerful enough, this is just down to the devs.

Oh wow I wasn’t expecting this to get lower than a 6. The review makes out that it’s absolutely awful. My rental copy should arrive tomorrow, I was always renting this regardless of how it reviewed as I was never paying £59.99 for it. I recently bought Saints Row The Third Remastered which as been optimised really well on Series X, it looks and runs fantastic.

I’m currently playing through Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD and I’m hoping to finish it before Saints Row releases on Tuesday.

@fabisputza007 @gollumb82 The first two Max Payne games are getting a remake but they will most likely be a while off till they are released, I’d guess end of 2023 or first half of 2024.

@gollumb82 Forza Horizon is different to Gran Turismo. Comparing GT to Forza Motorsport would be a more fair comparison.

I voted Project Gotham Racing, I’ve missed that series and I’m totally burnt out with Forza Horizon. I’d seriously roll my eyes if another Horizon is announced.

What’s everybody’s take on the Halo tv series? I’ve watched all 9 episodes and I really enjoyed it. It was slow going by building up to the discovery of the Halo ring but I already can’t wait for season 2 when they’ll surely be landing on the Halo ring itself with all the Forerunner structures and lush lands, rivers, waterfalls etc.

The Third is the best of the bunch imo, especially the Remastered one, which I just bought in a recent sale. It looks so good on Series X.

I think this poll should make a comeback soon after the reboot has released to see if it’s the best one yet or the worse, I can’t see this being in the middle.

I’ve only played the Xbox 360 reboot and despite it being viewed as mediocre by the majority, I thought it was decent. I’m looking forward to this trilogy remake though, it looks fantastic. Definitely a day one buy for me.

@Would_you_kindly I’m sure I read somewhere awhile back that when Activision acquired Bizzare Creations (the devs behind PGR) that they in turn owned the rights to the series. But I’ve just quickly googled who currently owns the rights and it’s always been Microsoft. Which makes me think, why did they not make any of the games backward compatible? I imagine most likely because of licensing issues and MS didn’t continue the series due to focusing on Forza. This discovery makes me think a new PGR is a no brainer, now so many of us are looking to move on from Forza Horizon.

I’m not sure if I would benefit from this. I currently game share with one of my kids, while the other can’t. So I’m paying £21.98 a month for two GPU subscriptions. If the family plan is less than £21.98 then I may take it up, more for convenience of paying for just one subscription if nothing else.

I’d love to see Microsoft go back to PGR and would love to see them make all three games backward compatible when/if the Activision deal goes through, seeing as they currently own the rights to the IP.

I’ve honestly had enough of Forza Horizon, I’m more looking forward to the new Motorsport and now would like to see a different take on an arcade racer to replace Horizon.

Xbox Same Sale 2022. Same games, same discounts. It’s getting ridiculous now.

I’m just going to get Oddworld Strangers Wrath and Duke Nukem Forever’s The Doctor Who Cloned Me DLC, both at full price as I don’t see them going on sale anytime soon.

@Brazenology Yeah but in theory digital games should be cheaper than physical when there’s no additional costs like putting the games onto discs, plastic cases, shipping and logistic costs etc. But digital won’t be cheaper anytime soon when a lot of sales still come from physical and the brick and mortar stores, especially game stores, they won’t want to be undercut and would threaten to stop selling consoles and games which would affect physical sales.

On topic, the only game imo that’s worthy from that list is Carrion. What a little gem that was.

@Arcnail Everybody can see NFTs for what they are and nobody wants it, there’s a reason why the majority are against it. It’s a scam and it’s just pure greed, it does not benefit the industry and it’s consumers. Anyway if this ‘Polium One’ ever did come out, it will be DOA.

I was tempted to buy the Master Chief Fall Guy outfit but I thought no, the Summer Sale will be coming soon and I’d rather spend the money on an actual game. I’m happy with the free Halo goodies from the event despite the helmet being “girly”

@Decoy_Snake Came here to say exactly that, bring back Bad Company. It’s their most popular series within the Battlefield franchise, I don’t get why nobody at DICE/EA haven’t already thought about making Bad Company 3, the fans would love nothing more. I’d take both Bad Company games and all it’s DLCs made with the Frostbite Engine over anything they come up with next.

@Mince The GTA trilogy was outsourced to Grove Street Games who only worked on mobile games before working on GTA trilogy but if it was done in-house by Rockstar themselves then I bet it would of been a much more quality product.

RDR already looked fantastic when it was enhanced for Xbox One X, it’s just missing 60fps. No need for the game to be remastered when it comes to image quality.

GTA IV is another story though, it hasn’t aged well. The image looks blurry/murky, it certainly could do with looking a lot cleaner in 4K, as well as having it run in 60fps. Don’t know why it couldn’t of had the same treatment as RDR did when it was enhanced for Xbox One X.

That’s a shame, I’d of liked to of seen GTA IV remastered as it certainly could do with it. Don’t understand why they wouldn’t of went ahead and remastered both GTA IV and RDR as they would of sold extremely well given how popular they are.

I voted for the first Far Cry, it was ahead it’s time upon release. It stood out among the FPS genre with the freedom to roam the island while having spectacular graphics, I was in awe.

Far Cry 2 was in the worst in the series imo. The constant battle of keeping the malaria at bay and the constant checkpoints attacking you, no matter how many times you’ve wiped them out they just kept respawning, it absolutely done my nut in to the point where I barely even got through the first part of the game.

I’m going to get Duke Nukem Forever, fancy some no-brains shooter but just wished the dlc was on sale too.

I’m not expecting any surprises from the summer sale as it’s always the same old games that have been on sale at the same discount. How about discounting games that have released this year or any games that haven’t been in the sale before? I honestly just want Oddworld Strangers Wrath with 50% off.

It’s such a fun game, I’ve been playing it a lot since yesterday and just now I got my first victory! It’s tough to win, it’s purely down to luck no matter how many times you’ve played each stage.

@A01 That’s not to say there won’t be towns and outposts on other planets but I do expect the majority of the planets are just there to mine materials and maybe have their own biomes.

I’m really looking forward to this, it does look great but I’ve just seen the price for it on the MS Store £33.49. When I see a new game being sold at that price, I just think it reflects on the quality of the game. Otherwise why is it not selling for £59.99? Tbf The Medium was sold at a similar price at launch and I thoroughly enjoyed that but could also see why it wasn’t being sold for £59.99.

Wow it even looked amazing watching it from a compressed YouTube video, just wait till we get to play it on 4K HDR tv! But Spring 2023 though? I’m going to try and get a copy of FM7 to tide me over till then.

@Texel Horizon and Motorsport are different in scope and size. Horizon is a lot more demanding due to it being open world where everything is loaded in and running at once. With Motorsport they can push the game graphically seeing as it’s only one track loaded in and running at one time. I’ll be seriously impressed if they manage to have the game running at 4K 60fps with full RT.

It think this just goes to show they are just running out of ideas to mix things up and keep it fresh for the Horizon series, unless there’s been a demand that I’ve some how missed for another Hot Wheels DLC? I really doubt it’s the latter.

I’m honestly done with the Horizon series, it’s all about Motorsport for me now until I get sick of that and want another Horizon lol

Let’s hope it lives up to expectations so it does not become known as Dragon Age: Dreadful, just like this pun.

I really want to see a release date for the new Forza Motorsport, hopefully it’s out sometime this year. It’s getting to the point now where I’m losing interest in the Horizon series, so I’m looking forward for Motorsport.

I’d like to see how they are getting on with Fable. It would be a nice surprise if a game from the showcase got shadow dropped onto Game Pass as the show closed.

@Kooky_Daisuke I agree but who out there would be able to make Halo great again? MS have invested in 343i for too long now that it would be an embarrassment to just suddenly take the Halo franchise away from them.

I loved what 343i did with the MCC by giving them a modern graphical makeover but Halo 1-3 are the best made by the old Bungie team, 343i haven’t improved the series since.

9 AAA games in development? How many are actually AAA quality though because I doubt there’s more than 3.

I’ve applied as I fancy a change from stacking shelves at Asda but I’m not holding my breath that I’ll get the job, I’ve probably got more chance winning the Euro Lottery.

Don’t give us a date, especially how often it’s been delayed. Just tell us when it’s actually ready as I’m not holding my breath that it’ll be ready in Q4.

Very impressive, will sound even more great on a decent pair of headphones. I can’t wait for this but how is it managing to have stuff like this and looking as good as it does when it’s also releasing on last-gen consoles, even the Nintendo Switch.

If it doesn’t get delayed I’ll buy this instead of Saints Row.

It’s a shame it’s been delayed to next year but I’m happy that it’s going to be next-gen only.

One of things that I liked about the Test Drive games is that you could interact with your car as you drove in the open world, like put the windows down, use indicators and headlights, wipers etc. Those are only minor things but little details like that make it stand out from the rest in the genre, I hope we can still do stuff like that in Solar Crown.

I’ve just had a few matches and I can say that it definitely doesn’t look or play like it shows in the trailer. I realise the game is in preview and it does look good despite not being finished but it has an inconsistent frame rate, the camera movement and animations are janky. I just can’t justify paying £24.99 for it in it’s current state. I’m going to save what time I have left of the trial and try it when it’s out of game preview.

In the meantime I’ll just go back to Hell Let Loose for my mil sim fix, plus the new update has just came out for it and it’s really good.

@Zucaritas I have Insurgency Sandstorm and I do see the similarities. I’ll have to give it another go seeing as the new Operation Glasshouse update as just released. For now though Hell Let Loose is still the best of its kind imo.

@Tasuki @Zucaritas Basically it’s like a modern-day setting of Hell Let Loose, I’ve yet to try the free trial but that’s what I thought it looked like from the trailer in the article.

It looks like a modern setting of Hell Let Loose which is an absolutely great thing for me. I’m downloading it right now and will have an hour or so with it when the kiddies go to bed. If I like it enough I’ll buy it.

All the millions of people who have been buying FIFA every year are still going to buy EA Sports FC after FIFA 23. People don’t buy FIFA for the name, they buy it for the actual game and EA Sports FC will technically be FIFA 24 in all but name, just without the word FIFA on the box and screen.

Anyone who buys the next FIFA after 23 thinking they are going to get the same kind of game would be a fool. It would have different gameplay mechanics and would just be different to EA Sports FC (FIFA 24).

Trek to Yomi was a decent game but for me it’s all about Sniper Elite 5 this month, a great addition to have on Game Pass day one.

@awp69 Thanks for letting us know, I’ll be downloading that tomorrow although I’ve yet to give the first one a proper play through yet.

I pre-ordered Evil Dead and had a few matches on it last night but I didn’t think it was that good, it looks great but I think it’s worth waiting for it to go cheap in a sale. It didn’t have the fear factor that you get from Friday the 13th and Dead by Daylight.

I requested a refund and had it accepted straight away so I’ll be putting the money towards Saints Row instead. Also I got the 4000 MS reward points for buying the game so it wasn’t a complete waste of time.

Am I excited for this? I’m ecstatic for this update. Hell Let Loose is my most favourite game since I got the Series X.

@MoistEmphasis3 This is a MILSIM game, not your typical arcade shooter where you get to run around guns blazing unrealistically. It’s so realistic that one bullet can take you down. It’s so much rewarding too, I love playing as the anti-tank class with a satchel charge and creeping up to an enemy tank while it’s pinning my squad down and putting a 30 second timer on it as I move away to a safe distance and watch the tank get blown up, it’s so satisfying.

FIFA is just a name and if another dev/publisher takes the FIFA name, it will just be FIFA in name only, that does not automatically make a game great. I’ll keep playing EA Sports FC as it’ll still have all the official licenses like past FIFAs and it’ll still be the best selling football game even without the FIFA name.

While I do love the Forza Horizon series, I really thought FH5 was too similar to FH4. Playground Games needs to come up with fresh new innovative ideas to make FH6 stand out from the rest, it cannot be seen as samey like both FH4 and 5.

I’m actually looking more forward to Forza Motorsport 8 despite it only being limited to just driving on track circuits.

I honestly don’t see the difference between 60fps and 120fps, 60fps is more than enough for a buttery smooth gameplay. Plus sacrificing graphical fidelity for 120fps is not worth it imo when you can have 4K at 60fps, at least on the Series X that is.

What about those who have already unlocked all the achievements, are they out of luck? I say anyone who has already unlocked an achievement within the game prior to this punch card, should automatically be registered.

That controller could be a great idea to be mass produced as a universal controller that works on PS5, Series X/S, Switch, PC and IPads but I think it would be more popular on the Switch and IPad given the type of games on there that can go with the theme of the controller.

I think it’s a missed opportunity for Microsoft to get the rights to Tomb Raider, seeing as they are lacking a decent first party third-person action adventure IP. £300 million for multiple IPs, including Tomb Raider, is pocket change to MS.

I don’t see this acquisition affecting Crystal Dynamics working on the Perfect Dark reboot as there will be contract obligations to honour.

As some have mentioned regarding Hitman, that would be a great IP for MS to go after but seeing as IO Interactive went independent in 2017, they may want to stay independent.
