@Yozora146_ True and I know things change but if in 4 years they said Starfield and Indy were going to Ps5/6 it wouldn’t be that bad as they’d be older games by then. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
I thought they came across well to be fair.
Would have loved a random shadow drop of some Crash games on gamepass or something to surprise us. That would have been cool
Definitely Indy. I’m not really excited about the rest. Maybe state of decay if that was to release this year. Flight sim 24 could be cool if they make the missions a bit like the old Pilotwings as that was really replayable.
Although non first party there’s a few other games I’m interested in picking up;
Palworld Turnip boy robs a bank Tekken 8 Star Wars dark forces remake Slave zero x South Park snow day Contra Operation Galuga
There’s quite a bit to look forward to I think. Not all doom and gloom lol.
As I said previously- Historically from the days of the NES to today that’s the way it has always been and that’s just the way it is. Moving away from this model has never really been done before and it’s unknown if this will damage the brand or devalue it in the eyes of the consumer.
Personally I buy Xbox for halo etc. If I could get halo, forza etc on PS5 I would not have an Xbox. As I could have all the PS games and my Xbox games running on the one console and just 1 console under my TV. I’m sure I’m not the only one who would do this, therefore it could seriously damage them depending to what extent and how far they go with releases.
IMO if game pass and everything goes on Nintendo and Sony there’s no point in owning Xbox hardware and in my mind they become a 3rd party.
The other thing to consider is the current development/turnaround time for game development. It’s becoming too long and this is also having massive financial implications for these companies. That gaps between games in a franchise has grown massively in the last 10 years. Developers are spending more, taking less creative risks, relying on micro transactions/season passes and 1 bad game can close them. This also can’t continue as it will crash the industry so Microsoft’s idea to release games multi platform may help lessen this for their development teams and it therefore may be a good thing.
Either way it’s interesting as Sony and Nintendo are sticking to the traditional distribution method of exclusives remaining on their platform.
Reading the comments it is strange times for the gaming industry. I get the worry with this as exclusives have always sold consoles in the past.

@eire-shabba no intention to offend a fellow Irishman. An ill advised joke and no offence intended. As most folk know all too well that as nation we are known for our somber, conservative and thoughtful celebrations to our patron saint.
I’ve got 25% of achievements in Gotham Knights and I’m stopping there, can’t face playing more. Can’t believe how bad it is when the previous ones were all great! Thank goodness for game pass lol
I’m playing some retro games on Xbox (turtles CC, mega drive collection) and Tunic.
I tend to buy it if: A) It’s extra content I.e new levels/story content B) It’s for a game I really like and feel it will elongate my enjoyment C) It’s not a total p1ss take such as £20 for a single character.
Last year I got the Separate ways DLC and it was perfect in size, price and fun factor. I’ve avoided the SF6 and MK1 DLC.
Although I’ve not got Diablo 4, the store for it looks horrible and it kinda put me off. I hate micro transactions (that’s what I think of when people say DLC), but that’s the way most AAA studios seem to be going nowadays - micropayments and season passes at the forefront, story is an afterthought.
But if it’s a meaningful expansion it’s worthy. If they released Story DLC for Jedi survivor or Hogwarts legacy I’d probably pick them up. As long as it’s more than a few new ponchos for Kal lol
@brettvsgodzilla Definitely the space marine game, looks proper cool. Never played the first one and not really a Warhammer fan but it looks so awesome
Hopefully lots of sega games too and the new Contra in Q1. I’ve been playing lots of the Sega Classics collection the last few days. Picked up the wired 6 button 8 bit-do controller. Retro goodness coupled with BG3. Other than the Contra and Sega remakes I don’t really have my eye on anything on the horizon at the moment. The new South Park game looks cool, 2023 is a hard year to follow.
Although times change, but the awesome epic excitement of ripping off that wrapping paper and finding a new games console underneath remains constant ☺️👍🏻
@Kienda your post made me feel better about my 708hrs, less than 2.5 hrs a day. I don’t watch much TV as is mainly rubbish on and really do love playing games, so much better than TV.
I’ve always loved gaming ever since I picked up the game pad as a little boy. Im 42 and have been gaming my whole life, I don’t think I’ll ever stop until the day I die. I’ve just picked up Baldurs gate and am eyeing up Alan wake 2 next lol.
Yes massive win, Sega making Sega games again who would have though it. All of them look like must haves, epic. Well done sega, getting back to the old school. Pumping and fresh looking, bursting with Sega energy. Looking very to all of these
@NeoRatt Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony are all guilty of this. I think Microsoft actually take more chances with new IPs and that’s to their credit. I’ve just watched a video about the last of us 2 and it’s ridiculous. I’d much rather games like Redfall and starfield (although in my opinion both could have been better) were great to play through as they were something new.
Not that it’s a bad game but again with the recycled content, modern gaming is lots of ‘remasters’ at the moment. MW3, Forza, the last of us! Some companies are worse than others but they love repackaging old stuff as they can’t push out original games. That’s why games like Alan wake 2, the Jedi survivor series, Robocop and to a lesser extent immortals should be appreciated
I picked up MK1 on the Black Friday deal, currently waiting on it installing now. Maybe Alan wake 2 or Robocop will be picked up at some point over the festive season. Boulders gate 3 on the horizon too
@EvenStephen7 It was awesome when it came out. It was super powerful and they were really pushing it. I remember getting it at launch with PGR and Halo. Then later picking up Gunvalkyrie, amped and JSRF in the months that followed. The games, graphics and that original controller felt like nothing else that had come before it lol groundbreaking stuff at the time
I still play Halo, lifelong gamer in my 40s now so never have really been into the whole battle pass and skins/cosmetics thing. But in my limited experience of battle passes the halo ones seem good. I like the way you can go back to old battle passes and also the free mini event ones when they drop.
I think Halo infinite is a really underrated game. Love that they’re still supporting it like they do. They all want as much money from the gamer as possible now but IMO halo isn’t as bad as the others. Not a fan of the in game shop but COD is horrendous compared to halo to the point where I no longer play COD or have an interest in it
This is the 90/early 00s edgy attitude and promoting that is totally gone in the corporate cut and paste current gaming landscape that is today. Loved that old in your face marketing and boom look at us we’re doing something new style.
There used to be a real buzz around the next big game. Magazines doing articles, big E3 and advertising events.
Now it’s just churn out the next one, put in a battle pass and micro transaction store, we’ll support it until - we reach x amount of profit, or x amount of months have passed and then we will announce the next one totally drop support and forget about it and repeat.
@theduckofdeath True, at least it made it I guess. And it’s decent for what it is. Would have been really cool if they did retail releases for Xbox and switch with making of documentaries, averts and promotional bits on the disk. They could have had the unreleased HD remake all features complete on Nintendo and Xbox. Maybe thrown perfect dark on there as a sweetener for Nintendo. I really think Microsoft could do more with rare and Nintendo partnerships
@InterceptorAlpha lol I know, Microsoft who practically drew up the blueprints for online console gaming and it’s online on the bloody switch and not the Xbox lol!! You couldn’t make it up. Seriously tho they should have had cross platform multiplayer - what were they thinking

I’m playing Party Animals and Halo (played both online today already for about an hr each) just don’t feel that need to go online with Forza. I’ll play Forza later but that’ll just be sinking through the single player cups
Love the look of this, never played any Behemoth games. Was thinking of picking this up To play with my daughter (10 yrs) - to anyone who can assist, would you recommend AH HD or Castle Crashers. As I’m a bit torn between the 2 and think castle Crashers might be easier for her

Re: Roundup: Here's What Was Revealed At The Xbox 'Business Update Event'
@Kaloudz Sea of Thieves and Hi Fi, totally agree are most obvious candidates.
Others I’m not so sure on
Glad they confirmed that Starfield and Indie are staying Xbox only
Re: Roundup: Here's What Was Revealed At The Xbox 'Business Update Event'
Of the 4, I think the following would be good candidates for guesses:
Hi fi rush
Sea of Thieves
State of Decay 2
Killer instinct
Redfall
Re: Review: Skull & Bones - Solid Combat Saves The Day In Ubisoft's Middling Pirate Playground
@Titntin yea the demo was a real Red Flag!
Re: Pick One: Which 2024 First-Party Game Are You Most Looking Forward To From Xbox?
Definitely Indy. I’m not really excited about the rest. Maybe state of decay if that was to release this year. Flight sim 24 could be cool if they make the missions a bit like the old Pilotwings as that was really replayable.

Turnip boy robs a bank
Tekken 8
Star Wars dark forces remake
Slave zero x
South Park snow day
Contra Operation Galuga
