Xbox Series X|S Gets Huge UK Sales Boost Thanks To Black Friday 2023

It feels like it's been a big Black Friday this year, with Microsoft finally dropping the price of its Xbox Series X console at multiple retailers last month - and the move seems to have paid off handsomely in the UK.

According to GamesIndustry.biz, UK sales data shows that Xbox Series X and S sales were up a whopping 231% from October to November of this year. November 2023 sales for Microsoft's newest consoles were also up 4% on November 2022's figures.

Combined with Sony's PS5 and Nintendo Switch this has led to a 12% increase in UK console sales compared to the same time last year - which is always good to see! In total, across all platforms, "over 486,000" consoles were sold in the region during November.

It's nice to be writing a slightly more positive sales story than last month, that's for sure. According to the same outlet, Xbox Series X|S struggled in Europe during October - although that data didn't include the UK or Germany. It'll be interesting to see how the systems fared in those same European markets for November - we should find out in the coming weeks.
