Xbox's next Call of Duty title has just kicked off Gamescom Opening Night Live, with Black Ops 7 finally getting a formal release date. The series' upcoming futuristic entry launches on Xbox Game Pass on November 14th - and we have fresh details of a free beta as well.
First, a little more about Black Ops 7 itself. The new title is set in the year 2035, with "the world on the brink of chaos". You'll see that chaos play out first-hand in a story campaign that's playable in both solo and up to four-player co-op; a rare sight for the Call of Duty series.
As you'd expect for a Black Ops game, multiplayer and Zombies modes are present also - and it sounds as though online PvP play has been the big focus this year. BO7 multiplayer contains 18 maps in total at launch; a small batch of those being remakes.
Finally - that beta we talked about. The Xbox Store page has detailed that pre-orders and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate players can go hands on with an early access beta from October 2nd, before the beta opens to all players on October 5th. That's just about a week before the full version of Battlefield 6 arrives on Xbox Series X|S!
