Re: Is It Worth Buying An Xbox One In 2026?

The One X has always been criminally underrated, and even the One S is a great device. Both of these have the benefit of HDMI pass-through, a feature I wish they kept with Series consoles. This means I can use them on the same HDMI port I would use for something like just a cable box, PC, or streaming device/whatever.

@Brigurugi I have no idea what happened to the Xbox version of Mile High Taxi but I got both the PS5 and PC version and the port is awful on the PS5. I actually really like the game on PC for what it is, but you can tell they just did a minimum effort port for the PS5 and they never even updated it despite it having a few serious issues. It is a fun game for PC and Steam Deck though.

@xboxjapanfan I think I will always call the Xbox One the most underrated and unfairly hated console of all time. Helps how I also consider the PS4 one of the most overrated consoles of all time, not that I don't like it, just that I think it was held up as something far greater than I ever thought of it as. Always loved the Xbox One's focus on backwards compatibility and it's HDMI pass-through, a unique feature for consoles I wish became standard.

Re: Halo Infinite's Final Major Content Update Has Arrived On Xbox & PC

JayJ

Infinite has easily been the worst Halo. I didn't even bother buying it, the only Halo game I don't own, played it on Game Pass while I had a subscription and the campaign just didn't do anything for me. Multiplayer scene couldn't appeal to me either. Not surprised it's been somewhat of a failure, I don't even care about this franchise anymore. Sticking to MCC as the go-to for Halo if I am ever in the mood.

@xboxjapanfan Yeah that has basically been my experience as well. I always felt like I was one of the few who genuinely preferred the Xbox One over the PS4, I had fun messing around with Kinect on both Xbox 360 and One, and I found the games Xbox was making to be genuinely appealing.

Feels like that all took a sharp nosedive this gen. I just don't like anything about the direction Xbox has gone in over the past few years, and even their games simply don't appeal to me at all anymore either. Same deal, they just feel far too politically influenced, like they are constantly trying to lecture me on the ideals of the dev team as opposed to giving me a truly immersive experience.

I just can't have any enthusiasm for this brand anymore, they are no longer doing anything that I find appealing and the management is clearly tone deaf.
