One of the games that didn't get mentioned in our "Games Coming To Xbox Next Week" roundup over the weekend was Taxi Chaos 2, and yet it's suddenly arrived on the Xbox Store today as a shadow drop!

This is obviously a sequel to the original Taxi Chaos from 2021, which at the time felt like a straight clone of SEGA's Crazy Taxi series in many ways, albeit with quite a lot of drawbacks compared to the SEGA classic.

We gave the original Taxi Chaos just a 5/10 score in our review back then:

Taxi Chaos 2 sounds quite different to the original though, described as being "inspired by classic arcade taxi driving with a modern twist". The main twist is that the city is now ruled by autonomous TaxiBots, and now "every shift is a race against traffic, time, and ruthless AI rivals that react to how you drive".

Looking at the list of features, there's a Story Mode featuring 12-minute shifts complete with objectives and unlockables, an Arcade Mode for "pure score chasing chaos", various "combat and utility abilities" to take on the TaxiBots with, and an array of new "vehicles, abilities, and cosmetics" to earn as you play.

Is it any good? We'll have to wait and see, but we're always intrigued by fresh takes on the Crazy Taxi formula, especially considering SEGA has yet to deliver its planned reboot.

Here are more details on Taxi Chaos 2, which is available for Xbox Series X|S at a price of £20.99 / $24.99.

Taxi Chaos 2 is an arcade taxi driving game in a city ruled by AI taxi bots. They dominate the streets, pushing human drivers to the edge. Race the clock, outsmart the Taxi Bot competition, and take on fares that push your driving to the limit through traffic, hazards, shifting road conditions. San Valeda never stands still, and every shift brings new challenges.
