It's official! After the device leaked last week, it's been announced that the Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition is launching today at a price of $399, although quantities are extremely limited and only available from a few specific retailers.
There are no major differences between this and the standard Meta Quest 3S in terms of functionality, although the Xbox Edition comes with a unique colour scheme for the headset and controllers. Here's what's included with it:
- Custom 128GB Meta Quest 3S in Xbox Carbon Black and Velocity Green
- Matching Touch Plus controllers and a limited-edition Xbox Wireless Controller
- Elite Strap
- 3 months of Meta Horizon+
- 3 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
Of course, the big focus of this "Xbox Edition" VR headset is to highlight Xbox Cloud Gaming, which is available via a dedicated app on the device that presents you with a big screen experience. It's still a fully-fledged Meta Quest system though, which means you can access all the usual VR games via the Meta Quest store as well as hook it up to your PC (either wired or wirelessly) if you're got a powerful enough rig to play PCVR games.
You can grab the Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition from meta.com, Best Buy (USA), Argos (UK), and EE (UK), and Xbox says that once supplies run out, there won't be any more. Keep in mind that at $399, the Xbox Edition is actually priced $100 higher than the standard Meta Quest 3S - most likely to account for the controller, 3 months of Xbox Game Pass and limited edition colour scheme.
