This game looked cool and apparently played good. I think what did it in was that it was a live service looter shooter and those games have been failing like crazy.
@Scrubchub I have it qued up. Streamers pushing agendas get out of hand anymore, people are like sheep being led to their own slaughter. DA Veilguard was a fun game and did not deserve the hate it got. I’m not a big SW fan but Outlaws looks like it could be a good time.
@Fiendish-Beaver yea you are a wildling for sure Mr Beaver lol
I will definitely be buying Gears collectors edition whenever they announce it. I definitely don’t need the best versions of all the games I play, just the ones I really, really love to play. I will be curious what we see for a Halo treats this year as well.
@IOI See, there is the truth. Nothing about time to money ratios but rather content and ownership, which is fine. The concept of spending $30 on a sub and thinking that you have to play games 24/7 to get your value back, which is what you said is pretty absurd.
@Fiendish-Beaver I am actually shocked you have Gamepass at all haha after talking to you so much on here you definitely have more of a collectors/owning vibe
I use Gamepass like how I use my Apple Music. I buy the vinyls of the albums I really love and the rest I use a sub for. Kinda like how I will buy Gears collectors edition even if I have Gamepass at the time. There are a lot of games I own that I just really don’t need to where as I don’t feel that way with my music and I imagine that is because Gamepass can’t have the entire industry in its library. 😅
@IOI Going out to see one movie costs as much here. I will never understand this mentality. I’ve seen people say this like if they spend 20-30 dollars for the sub they HAVE to be playing games constantly to get the value but turn around and buy a game for $70+ that they play for maybe 20 hrs. People are crazy.
I still use it. And there are a lot of games already lined up next to year, I don’t see myself leaving the service, but I’m also still paying $20 a month for Ultimate not the $30. See what happens when/if that stops.
@Fiendish-Beaver yep! Both can be played by yourself. When in co-op the other person brings one of their survivors from their community to help grow yours, it’s cool but the co-op partner doesn’t benefit as much but does get rewards and resources to take back to their community. They are designed to be played solo and co-op. I am really hoping they expand on it with 3 to where you can have true shared communities that are drop in and out. There were rumors of it going the mmo or shared world route where other survivors share real estate on the same server. Do you can set up trade and such with the other communities. I’m excited for it!
@Fiendish-Beaver although the sales numbers have dropped for the latest one, it seems to be more based on the latest game not being as good as last years which did very well. I’m not a COD player but I feel like this isn’t the first time this has happened to COD, they have their occasional off year and then bounce back. Personally I would be fine with COD disappearing completely and opening those studios to new projects but also see COD as a lifeline of funds for the Xbox brand so even if I am not a fan of the games I do want them to do well so we continue to get the Xbox games I do enjoy. If that all makes sense.
@Fiendish-Beaver I played a ton of the first two, more so the second one because the multiplayer was just amazing fun. You don’t need to have played through the previous games, they are more structured as survival, community games. So like you will find different people with different characteristics and you will grow and nurture the ones you like and outcast the ones you don’t. Also these characters are permadeathed if killed. So you swap between the survivors, it’s a very neat game that has its own unique twist to these zombie games that I have really been looking forward to seeing how they evolve it with the much larger budget and staff. Growing pains I assume.
@Markatron84 I did do a little digging last night before bed and there was a report that State of Decay 3 got more investment thrown at it last year to make it a bigger game apparently. So looking more like 2027. Hopefully they have plans for it to atleast show up at the summer showcase. I do miss the series.
@Fiendish-Beaver COD was just reported as the second most played game on consoles (only behind Fortnite) and number 1 on Xbox consoles, I don’t think they are as worried as the internet is about it lol
Also I don’t think they will see too many clashes over COD and Fable. Xbox did release Outer Worlds 2 and Ninja Gaiden 4 only a couple weeks apart last year. I think Xbox is more worried about releasing a full product that is launch ready and whenever that lands is when they will launch the game.
@Fiendish-Beaver it will probably never be ALL because of licensing. But, if they continue to make their Console/PC hybrids with their stores and other than there won’t be a whole lot of need for it to be all. They may just merge future purchases, it’s just the old ones and of course physical copies.
@FraserG ahhhh good catch. They do say first party studio so that pretty much nixes Toys for Bob. I am going to check that link I don’t believe I have heard about Kiln before. 🤔
@FraserG doesn’t Xbox just claim all games published by them as first party? I know they were calling NG4 a first party title last year and they have always considered Gears of War first party even when it was being made by Epic. Regardless, if Obsidian has yet another game on top of the 3 they released last year what a beast they would be eh? I remember Ninja Theory had a smaller title, Bleeding Edge, maybe they had a smaller title they were working on alongside Hellblade. They were just teasing a new game as well not too long ago of the team sitting in front of a large screen watching the game. So many possibilities!
Hopefully they either have a surprise showing by Gears E Day or they announce it’s going to have its own deep dive down the road. A whole Gen without a new Gears is not my favorite thing. :-/
@Fiendish-Beaver I won’t give up hope just yet. But if it’s not at the Direct and shows up at the summer showcase that will probably mean it got delayed internally. Although they announced Halo for this year at the Halo championships and that’s not at the Direct so I have hopes.
@Fiendish-Beaver that’s awesome! I also have a chainsaw lancer replica, it sits next to my Halo Needler and Energy Sword. I also have the collectors editions of the games, hoping there is one for E-Day as well. I also have a ton of figure, pops, full comic lines and autographs, controllers etc. I never did grab any of the consoles though. Those still working? The ones that you have. I love seeing other Gears-heads out in the world. Just the other day while picking my daughter up from school I was wearing my old Gears hoodie (I even had my Gamertag thrown on the back from when I did a local Gears tourney) and a guy walked by and gave a Fenix shoutout. Man I hope E-Day melts our faces! We call all raise 🥃 to Dom and shed a tear haha
Hmmmm I was planning on buying a Steam Machine this year, I passed on the Ally X last year because I had just bought the Switch 2. Unless the new Xbox console gets announced for this year it will probably be just the Steam Machine for me. Especially if the Half Life 3 rumors are actually true this time lol
@RentedPanda hopefully see something this year, if not the direct than the summer showcase. Schafer said a couple years ago that he is working on something new since being acquired by Xbox. It’s been cooking for a while if that is to be believed.

@Fiendish-Beaver I am looking forward to Gears 6 whenever that comes as well! I love all the games but the core three hold a place dear to my heart and I’m not even afraid to shy away from the fact that I teared up when the trailer first premiered and Dom grabbed Marcus’s hand and Mad World played. So many great times with the game with friends and family, one friend that has left this realm years ago due to a car accident, Gears was always our after work game. Grab some brews, Taco Bell and slay! I miss those days! Now my wife will play through with me and have to experience all the emotions I go through playing E-Day lol some of my old buddies are already planning on coming back as well for Horde. There will be many a good times ahead this year with E-Day and Combat Evolved, just so many good feels wrapped up with those two IPs for me.
@VeganH I don’t think it has to convince single player centric gamers there are so many that prefer MP games (majority of gamers really) but you are correct it will have to convince a lot of them to pull away from their current games which is always the battle. Cronos, Silent Hill f, Sunderfolk, Painkiller, Tainted Grail, Indiana Jones DLC, Nightreign, Cybercorp, Deadlink, Blades of Fire, Hell is Us, Little Nightmares 3 on Xbox, AstroBot on PS5 and Zelda Echoes of Wisdom, Dragon Quest 1-3 HD remakes and Metroid Prime 4 on Switch 2. Metroid Prime 4 wasn’t on sale but I bought it in the mess of the sale because I love the series so much and it’s a fantastic game so far.

Re: These 10 Games Are Coming To Xbox Game Pass, Multiple Major Additions (January 21 - February 3)
Space Marine 2 is amazing. I will definitely be checking out Ragebound
Re: Footage From Xbox's Cancelled ZeniMax Online Game Leaks, Looks Very Cyberpunk
@Jenkinss the problem with Scalebound was that it looked terrible graphically and I remember when people got to try it at one of the E3s, it was sad it ran terrible as well. The main character of the game was also pretty annoying if I remember correctly.
Blackbird was definitely up my alley, from the sounds of it. Contraband I thought sounded interesting as well but the one that hurt the most was the Romero game. I am still in awe that MS cut the creator of Doom’s new project. I really hope he secures funding to finish the game.
Re: Footage From Xbox's Cancelled ZeniMax Online Game Leaks, Looks Very Cyberpunk
@swedetrap Scalebound looked awful.

Re: Report: Microsoft Is Set To Launch An Xbox Cloud Gaming Ad-Tier This Year
They haven’t even gotten the 4k going for cloud gaming. How about that first.

@Fiendish-Beaver I’m liking it a lot so far. It’s got some good tension the story and premise is very interesting and graphically it’s gorgeous.
Re: Three Games Are Confirmed For Xbox Game Pass In February 2026 So Far
@Fiendish-Beaver hmmm I will have to look up some gameplay.
Re: Three Games Are Confirmed For Xbox Game Pass In February 2026 So Far
Absolutely loved the first High on Life so looking forward to part 2. Menace looks and sounds really neat but my pc is pretty old 😅
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (January 17-18)
On Xbox Cronos The New Dawn.
On Switch 2, The Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom.

@Fiendish-Beaver September it is for Gears!!

Re: Feature: 30 Xbox Series X|S Games To Look Forward To In 2026
@Darylb88 man they delay Fable another year back there might be an online riot 😂
Re: Talking Point: What Have You Bought In The Xbox Countdown Sale This Year?

Backlog. Not to buy as many games day 1 because I’m sitting on like 20 games I bought on this last sales between Switch 2 and Xbox lol
