Another Source Reveals What They Know About The 'Secret' Xbox Developer Direct Game

Of course Fable will get a PS5 port. Hopefully a Switch 2 port as well.

In a world where Forza Horizon 5 is on PS5 and 6 will be after a delay, it’d be silly to think Fable won’t get the same treatment.

I imagine fable will follow the other 6-12months delay.

Sure and next you're gonna tell me the sky is blue. Honestly, there's really no point in these "rumours" anymore, we all know those games will come to PS5 at some point. The only question is how long it'll take for all of them come to PS5/6 at day one as a default.

Being a indie doesn't really narrow it that much, haha. Is there any indie in the works that would be a good surprise?

For me this whole show rides on the mystery game. I have seen enough of Fable, I'm all in on that one and dont really want to learn too much more about it before playing it. Forza horizon is a known quantity and will be exactly what we expect it to be. Love the franchise but i know exactly what this game will be. Beast of reincarnation is not really something that interested me last time I saw it.

Fable on switch 2 would be sweet.

Other rumours suggest the game was delayed so it could release on ps5 same day as Xbox. May be true…

@FraserG doesn’t Xbox just claim all games published by them as first party? I know they were calling NG4 a first party title last year and they have always considered Gears of War first party even when it was being made by Epic. Regardless, if Obsidian has yet another game on top of the 3 they released last year what a beast they would be eh? I remember Ninja Theory had a smaller title, Bleeding Edge, maybe they had a smaller title they were working on alongside Hellblade. They were just teasing a new game as well not too long ago of the team sitting in front of a large screen watching the game. So many possibilities!

@FraserG ahhhh good catch. They do say first party studio so that pretty much nixes Toys for Bob. I am going to check that link I don’t believe I have heard about Kiln before. 🤔

@dskatter I’m hoping for more Switch 2 ports personally as well. I think it’s a better investment for Xbox to do that personally than Ps5. Especially if they want to sell in Japan more. Considering Ps5 is too costly in Japan so isn’t selling well, and handheld devices reign supreme there, the smart money is on Switch 2 for western devs to port to.

Capcom and Ubisoft know what’s up.

@Dm9982 PS5 has a large install base compared to the Switch 2, at least for the moment. S2 is outselling PS5 right now but obviously Sony has already gotten the PS5 into more hands. Remember that those existing consoles don’t magically disappear.

MS would be stupid to exclude one or the other. Making an X game run on the S is a good parallel for making a PS5 version comparable to the X and then a Switch 2 version on par (or slightly below, possibly) the S. Though they’d have to drop it more for portable mode.

Either way, I own both so I’ll be content!

Xbox exclusives are dead. We're going to see some still and it's just because the studios don't have the manpower to get them out at the same time. Any new games will be built for everything from the start, something going on PlayStation or Nintendo really shouldn't be a shock to anyone.

Exclusives are dying. MS is just the first of the console makers to do it. Sony exes keep hinting at their games coming to PC sooner and other platforms being needed to grow IP’s. Nintendo of course will be the last hold out. But with RAM prices raising the cost of hardware. It’s likely to see many teams want their games on more platforms. Then the whole question is will consumers even be able to afford compute power in the future. All these companies are going to try and get you into cloud services sooner than later. As raw hardware is going to be to costly for mass appeal. I for one enjoy the fact that exclusivity is in its wind down stage. More games in more places is great news.

Toys for Bob isn't technically a first-party studio (their next game is being published by Xbox, but they haven't been acquired)

Toys For Bob was a first-party studio until fairly recently.

Maybe it's another Ori game or a Kameo sequel.

If the new game is Shadowrun sequel or remake, I will squeal like little girl.

Shadowrun was and is the best shooter ever made. Period.

@dskatter Yeah my bad I didn’t mean exclusion, as a gamer I’ve never been a fan of that honestly. I just meant I hope they put some more focus on the Switch 2. Fallout 4 is a good start, we all wanted FO3/NV on Switch 1 lol, so FO4 should sell well.

As far as comparison goes and what Switch 2 is capable of just look at Starwars Outlaws. A game they can’t run on Steam Deck (without HEAVY modifications and turning of RT completely in the game files), yet runs on Switch 2 just fine, looks great and maintains Ray tracing. Oblivion and Avowed run on Steam Deck, granted low settings - especially occlusion which determines hair quality. But if they can run on Steam Deck they’ll run and look great on S2, of that I have no doubt.

I truly hope MS tosses more games on the Switch as I’ve said before it’ll help them print money. Switch 2 will likely end up selling nearly the same amount of units as S1.

@Dm9982 It’s been widely reported that Nintendo were stingy about Switch 2 devkits which would affect the rate of 3rd party support.

@Grumblevolcano Wouldn’t surprise me. I mean the dev kits were ultra expensive back in the 80s and 90s, like prohibitively so to where only the biggest of devs could afford to take the gamble, buy a dev kit and make a game going they’d at least break even on dev kit and production team costs….

Truly hope that we get some more Switch 2 love from various third parties like Bethesda, Obsidian, Larian, and such. While I have a Series X and Steam Deck for remote play, I’d prefer native versions on Switch 2 in some cases where holding the deck for longer periods is cumbersome and uncomfortable. Something like Monster Hunter, Baldur’s, or Oblivion would just be more comfortable and easier to play on Switch 2. Not to mention gamer dad here, so somethings I just can’t play on the big tv. 😂

@Dm9982 Whatever my opinion of the game itself is, Outlaws is a prime example of what the S2 can do. The fact they squeezed that game into a portable console made by Nintendo without sacrificing more than they did is astonishing.

@dskatter Exactly, I’ve seen the effort to get it running on Steam Deck. Was the reason I opted out getting it on Steam. Then I saw it was coming to Switch 2 and said, “I’ll believe it when I see it….”

Color me shocked and impressed. Enough so I bought it just because of that. I like Starwars enough and should enjoy the ride when I get to it. But would I have rather had KOTOR 3? Yes yes I would, lmao

Expect Fable a few months after the Xbox release, like Forza Horizon 6. Some games will come the same date, and others will be timed exclusives to drive Game Pass Subscriptions for a few months, which makes sense.
