Dragon Quest VII Reimagined Gets Free Demo On Xbox This Week

And your progress carries over to the full game

DRAGON QUEST VII Reimagined Demo (Xbox Store)

Original Story: Last September, Square Enix announced Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined for Xbox Series X|S — and while the full release launches in just a few weeks' time, the team has now revealed a free demo for the title coming this week.

Yep, the Dragon Quest VII Reimagined Demo lands tomorrow, January 7th, and any progress made in the demo version will carry over to the full release next month. Anyone who jumps into the demo will also earn a free costume for Maribel within the full retail release of the game.

Now, given that Square Enix's recently-released Final Fantasy 7 Remake demo (which also carries progress over) arrived as its own download on Xbox last month, we'd expect a similar format for Dragon Quest here. We should see a demo page for Dragon Quest VII Reimagined to go live at some point tomorrow on the Xbox Store.

As for the game's full release, this new version of Dragon Quest 7 arrives for Xbox Series X|S on February 5th, and you can read more about it via the link down below.

I never play these demos because I don’t want my play time to be split between the game and the demo. It’s a me thing.

Game looks amazing though.

I have pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition so I get to play it a couple of days early. Now I get to play even sooner through this demo, which carries over! Excellent news!

@K1LLEGAL yep I get it. I also dislike playing a demo for a game that I won’t play until some unspecified distant time (whether a month or more). If I played this demo now, and played the full game when it came out (or more likely later), I’d just end up starting over because I wouldn’t remember what I was doing.

@jesse_dylan @K1LLEGAL I'm the same. I don't want to play a demo for a game I know i'm not going to play for a while, because I will replay it and that's boring, but necessary. Stupidly did this with FF XVI

Dragon Quest was the RPG to get me into the genre. I am currently working my way through 3, 1, 2 and will grab this one after, love this franchise been waiting for the new one for a long time but happy we are getting all these in the meantime.
