Re: Talking Point: How Often Do You Play Backwards Compatible Games On Xbox?

F1at8mot0

I love the back compatibility. I am like 50/50 current games to old games on Xbox. I’m currently playing the Orange box to replay Half-Life 2 for the first time since I played it in the OG Xbox. Still amazing today. I’ve come to the conclusion that games are games. New or old they are still fun. So now instead of trying to keep up with everything I just play what is fun what ever that may be. I’ve actually played more on my XBOneX lately than I have on my PS5. Mostly back compat games. Plus new stuff on game pass is just too convenient.

On Xbox One X I’m actually replaying Half-life 2 on the Orange Box. I haven’t played it since it came out in the original Xbox. It’s still an amazing game. I forgot how much it just grabs you and pulls you through it’s world. On PS5 I’m still working almost daily on Gran Turismo 7. Great way to catch up on podcasts.

Re: Feature: Pure Xbox's Game Of The Year 2021

I don’t really care what the GOTY was. I’ve had more fun with my Xbox this year than I’ve had with any console in a long time. Halo is fun it’s definitely grabbed more now than it did for the first few hours. And Forza was fun. But the load times on One X are horrible so I really want to try it again when I get a series X. But having Game Pass and playing old stuff as well as new stuff all the time is just so much fun. I’ve even purchased some older games on the One X. With a GOTY top ten list like this I can’t wait to see the next four years for Xbox and just gaming in general. Nice work Team Xbox.

Re: Pick One: Which Is Your Favourite Xbox Console To Date?

The OG Xbox because is introduced me to Halo. It’s the reason I bought it over the PS2. And it was totally the right decision! I loved my 360 S and my One X. But the Original is still my favorite. I’m still on the hunt for a series X so maybe it will edge it out but we will see.

Re: Pick One: Which Is Your Favourite Xbox Matrix Game?

When I was in college in 2003 I traded in a Dreamcast with 20 games 3 controllers and a fishing controller. As well as a an N64 with six games. I got $80 for the whole thing. (Major GameStop rip off) and I purchased Enter the Matrix. I was a poor college student that needed the money to play new games. But that was the worst gaming decision I ever made and I hate that game to this day bc it reminds of that lousy trade. You live and learn I guess. Life moves on.

Re: Some Forza Fans Say They're Getting 'Bored' With Horizon 5 Already

FH5 plays brilliantly and looks great even on XBOneX. Its probably the best playing and best feeling racing game I’ve played. But I do find it to get tedious. I’ve had really good fun with it but I can say I would rather have a story that progresses me through it. I’ve 100% finished FH1 3 different times. The last time being like four months ago. The story just pulls me through every time. It almost has the same problem for me that Elder Scrolls and Fallout has, its too open. I know times of people live that. But I find I have more fun when it’s a little bit more directed of an experience. Just my opinion. FH5 is a fantastic game in every regard and I hope it’s brining a lot of joy to those who really live it. But I’ll keep looking for something a bit more like the first.

Re: Pick One: Which Is Your Favourite Forza Horizon Game So Far?

@RadioHedgeFund I could not agree more! The first one had a soul to it that none of the others have had. I also think the dirt racing is boring. And what a sound track! I’m so glad it’s backwards compatible. I’m thinking about ditching the tedious FH5 and just replaying the first one.

Re: Xbox 20th Anniversary: The Best Xbox Launch Games

@Zag_Man that was the same for me. I played Doom and Wolfenstien and tried to get into Goldeneye on N64. But they never really grabbed me or felt good. Then Halo came along and finally made sense to me. Now I really enjoy FPS games but none ever feel as good to me as Halo.

Re: OG Xbox Creator Shares 20th Anniversary Message, Thanks Fans For Taking 'The Risk To Buy The Thing'

Man I love the OG Xbox. I was a senior in college at the time. I was still playing my Dreamcast but it was on life support. The PS2 seamed cool as I loved my PS1 but it just didn’t draw me in like it’s predecessor. So I waited because I liked what I had read in EGM about the Xbox. After it came out I heard several people who had played Halo rave about how awesome it was. And the EGM coverage was equally enthusiastic. I was finally convinced and in the Fall of 2002 I went out and grabbed the big black box and a copy of Halo. I was absolutely blown away. It was also the first console I ever bought myself. I pretty much emptied my poor college student checking account but it was totally worth it. So many great games and memories. I still own that console to this day and still bust it out from time to time to play some Burnout 3 Takedown and ESPN 2K5 NFL Football. What a system. Happy 20th Xbox!

Re: Xbox 20th Anniversary: Which Xbox Generation Has Been The Best?

F1at8mot0

Obviously the 360 is a juggernaut of a console. That whole generation was still the best ever in my opinion. However, my vote went to the OG Xbox. I went from PS1 to Dreamcast and then chose the Xbox over PS2. I’m so glad I did! It had all the right kind of exclusives for me at the time. Especially KOTOR 1and 2 Halo. And also 16 player Halo 2 LAN parties! After that generation my main console has been PlayStation but I’ve always gotten an Xbox a few years after to have both. This time around. I think I’m going to go with Xbox Series X as my main and pick up a PS5 later down the road. Xbox just seams like the more fun party to be at right now. I love you OG Xbox!

Been play Forza Horizon 5. I’m hot and cold on that game. It’s fun a great game but I think the racing is terrible. I still have a good time with it, but the racing is one of my favorite parts. I’ll keep playing though. I just wish I would have waited for the game pass release instead of buying the $45 add-on bundle to play it four days early. Oh well. I’ve also been replaying Jedi Fallen Order it’s just as good the second time.

I keep bouncing between games. Can’t really find anything that’s fully grabbing my attention. I started SW Squadrons but got board. I restarted Gears 5 for another play through. It’s still an amazing looking and playing game but it’s just not what I’m looking for right now. I’ve got Forza Horizon 5 pre installed, maybe I’ll just take a gaming break until it drops.
