This week has been pretty crazy, huh? Especially for Xbox Game Pass, which has seen both Forza Horizon 5 and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition enter the service. If that wasn't enough, then there's also an abundance of Microsoft Store deals, Free Play Days titles and other Xbox Game Pass additions to check out.
Here's what we're diving into this weekend:
Fraser Gilbert, News Editor
I think the question is, what aren't I playing this weekend? There's just not enough time to get to everything I'd like to, but my focus this weekend is definitely going to be on GTA: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition, and particularly GTA 3 and Vice City, as I've already had a chance to play quite a few hours of San Andreas on Game Pass.
And of course, the other game I'm going to be spending most of time with is Forza Horizon 5, which has been a blast so far. Unfortunately, given how busy this week has been, I really haven't had much time with it to date (and next week's looking incredibly busy as well), so hopefully I'll be able to get behind the wheel this weekend.
Finally, as you can see from Daniel's message below, this week marks his final week as a News Reporter at Pure Xbox. It's been a pleasure working alongside him over the past year to help grow the website, and I have no doubt he'll go on to do fantastic things in his next venture. First though, here's still got a few articles going live this weekend!
Have a good couple of days, everyone.
Daniel Hollis, News Reporter
I couldn't resist picking up the early access edition of Battlefield 2042, so my weekend will be spent mainly on that - server permitting. Additionally, I'm excited to check out a few smaller Xbox Game Pass titles. This weekend I'm going to see what Unpacking and Unsighted have to offer - two games that have struck the Game Pass community by storm in recent weeks.
Outside of the realms of Xbox, I'm finally making a dent in my PlayStation 5 library. Over the past year, my backlog has grown immensely for it and I'll be finishing Bugsnax in preparation to jump into some bigger games over there.
Finally, this is probably the best place to say this was my last week here at Pure Xbox! I've absolutely loved my time here, engaging with the community and creating some fun, interesting stories, but I'll be moving on to something else in the coming weeks.
Thank you all for your kind words on my articles over the past year, and I hope you'll all help Pure Xbox grow to be the best possible community it can be. You're all awesome!
All the best to you all!
What Xbox games are you playing this weekend? Let us know down in the comments below.
Will be playing Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones on 3DS and Call of Duty: Black Ops on 360. I'm completely addicted to FE, it's such a fun game. Black Ops campaign is also really good, I'm very impressed by the campaigns of the CoD games on 360 in general. So far I've played Ghosts, Modern Warfare 1-3 and now I'm going through Black Ops and they've all been phenomenal.
Forza Horizon 5 with my friend, Cyberpunk 2077 on my own and Omno/Castle of Illusion with Mickey Mouse with my daughter 😁
Edit: Good luck with your new endeavour Daniel and thanks for contributing!
Forza Horizon 5, very good.
I have to say I am loving Dicey Dungeons.
My weekend is mirroring Fraser. GTA Trilogy and FH5 for me.
Bugs aside with GTA I am enjoying the nostalgia kick.
Edit: all the best for the future as well Daniel
Series S: Back4Blood with friends, Forza Horizon 5 and Forgotten City. Thank you gamepass.
Ps5: Death Stranding DC. Keep on keeping up!
Switch: GF playing the Pokemon Shield DLCs.
Have a nice weekend everybody!
Playing some Vanguard MP whilst waiting very impatiently for Infinite's release. May play some Darksouls 3 at some point.
I was looking for amiibo cards and left Target with an Xbox Series X so I hooked that bad boy up on Thursday night. I have tested out Fallout 4 and Psychonauts (the old Xbox game, not the sequel) and both look great on XSX. My wife couldn't believe Psychonauts was a 2005 game! I also streamed FFXV and that looks better even doing that. I'll probably test some more games out but I want to beat Psychonauts.
On Switch, I have been playing SSBU and lots of ACNH. On the latter, I'm redesigning my island because of the update and I got something from Brewster after getting coffee for a few days in a row. I've also played a good amount of Happy Home Paradise. That's been a very fun part of the game for me, which I didn't think would happen. Also played some FE:3H. I'm playing the Golden Deer house and it's been interesting even if they kind of are the third wheel. Might play some more if I get a chance to. Anyway, hope everyone is having a great weekend.
Dark Souls 3 or possibly re-instal Valhalla to have a go in the tombs
Forza Horizon 5. Also thinking about jumping into Skyrim for the first time. Still haven’t decided. Is the next gen upgrade worth it
I was planning on playing Dicey Dungeons but I also picked up FAR: Lone Sails (currently on sale) and it absolutely won me over. So I guess I’ll be playing that instead.
Forza, off course.
Also, I'll have to try some GTA, at some point.
But not for now. Now, Forza.
Firstly I plan on getting a game in of Mario party online, then I will play some more sinking city which I bought yesterday and some more neptunia x senran kagura on ps5
My copy of shin megami tensei 5 came yesterday but im letting my partner get quite far ahead of me first before I play all day tomorrow.
Disciples: Liberation will be what I mainly play, though I may dabble in a bit of Forza Horizon 5 and Gears 5 Horde (if my mate is about)...
Getting deeper into Doom 2 RPG (via emulation) on my phone. It's actually really good; a weird but worthwhile entry in the franchise if you can appreciate it for what it is.
Also planning on finishing up Duke Nukem Forever: The Doctor Who Cloned Me DLC. It's exactly what I expected so far: mediocre FPS action wrapped in jokes about male genetalia. Perfect.
Played a little Forza Horizon 5 the other day and will probably eff around a little more with that, too.
I'm playing mostly Forza Horizon 5.
With the rumours that Halo Infinite's multiplayer could shadow drop this Monday, I'm glad I didn't start GTA San Andreas yet. Might not even start it at all...
Lots of Forza Horizon 5 this weekend! I've also started Psychonauts 2 again; that game just brings me so much joy.
Best of luck to @Flurbdurb on your next adventure, you'll be sorely missed!
Been playing forza today. I need a break, my head feels numb. I'm trying to complete the Stories. Had no idea the campaign would take this much time. 17.5 hours play time so far.
Been playing Forza Horizon 5 and Banjo-Kazooie.
Forza Horizon 5 is still my go-to game. Also playing Far Cry 6 and Riders Republic. On PS5 I’m playing Death Stranding.
I'm playing a whole bunch of Animal Crossing since the update.. Best of luck to @Flurbdurb it's been a pleasure reading your awesome articles here on Pure Xbox, Cheers my friend, Goodluck on your new adventure..
I’ll be kicking around Mass Effect Legendary for a long time to come.
Forza Horizon 5
Ok, I played a bit of GTA and this definitely not for me. Nostalgia googles are an obligation, here, I think.
I know it's only a remaster, but sincerely, did we need something like that ?
It really is ugly as f... ! xD And I know - again - that it was a PS2 game, back then, but since ! We had MGS2 and 3 on this console, so what's up with these ridiculous cutscenes ?
@Casco wow this game is massive amazing and addictive.
I'll likely be visiting Mexico again because it's just such a great experience. I'll try and dio into Halo 5, halfway through the game now. Still haven't played any multiplayer so I'll have to give that a try before i move onto Halo wars. Time is running out for Halo Infinite prep!!
Settled on Rage 2...when I saw no fps boost then no performance mode in the menu I wasn't sure but oooh buttery smooth
Well gave up on Rage 2 after a couple of hours despite the smooth fps...game just makes me feel nauseous no matter what fov I try motion blur and chromatic off as well, haven't had that since metro
And the, laggy in game ui invisible npc's and and sound dropping out didn't help the experience either
Forza Horizon 5, superb game even for a guy who's not really into driving games like myself.
My Brother and I started FH5 but als SOSFoMT
@Bobobiwan i hear you. I tried to play it myself. But having been into FH5 so much this week, I just couldn’t just appreciate the driving in San Andreas
Mahjong by Microsoft (Droid) - Daily challenges and random puzzles.
Bad Piggies (Windows Phone) - Still enjoying this take on Angry Birds.
Burn the Rope (Windows Phone) - Also enjoying this puzzle game as well.
On a side note: I'm having friends over tonight to watch AEW Full Gear. I'll be drinking beer and eating bbq chicken pizza to my hearts content tonight
Hi there fellow gamers.
After finally finishing the great Tales of Arise, I´ve decided to go back to another great game called Rachet and Clank Rift Apart, PS5 exclusive extraordinaire.
I really enjoyed my time with ToA.
My favourite Tales of cast of all of them and that is saying something.
Also the ending was nice. Just wish the "main antagonist" was more interesting. But that´s just me personaly.
Overall, one of the Best JRPGs. Fully recomend to rpg fans.
So this weekend is going to be RC Rift Apart on PS5, maybe some GG Strive online and Forza Horizon 5 on PC.
Man, the intro alone sold me completely.
Kudos to Playground Games. You made a beautiful and super fun game to just fool around and enjoy. Fable next 😉
Oh, and for those lucky few who got access to the Elden Ring Network Test, enjoy it. From the videos I´ve seen, the full game is going to be so much fun. Especialy a magic build. Can´t wait.
Cheers, stay safe everyone and happy gaming weekend to us all
RE Village and Horizon 5 for me this weekend.
Forza Horizon 5 and Rider's Republic have been my main games right now.
Switch: After finishing metroid dread, maybe mario sunshine.
Xbox: Playing forza horizon 5 on series s.
Can I vote for Forza Horizon 5 multiple times? I'm putting so many hours into it, it hardly compares to other Xbox and Game Pass games.
Level 79 now, 108 cars, entered the Horizon Hall of Fame, finished all road races, almost all roads driven and boards smashed... yeah, I'm enjoying myself quite a bit.
Been play Forza Horizon 5. I’m hot and cold on that game. It’s fun a great game but I think the racing is terrible. I still have a good time with it, but the racing is one of my favorite parts. I’ll keep playing though. I just wish I would have waited for the game pass release instead of buying the $45 add-on bundle to play it four days early. Oh well. I’ve also been replaying Jedi Fallen Order it’s just as good the second time.
