Re: Microsoft's 'This Is An Xbox' Post Taken Down As Fans Wonder If The Controversial Ad Is No More

Dear Microsoft,
Here's how you make it simple for people:
Release a console, that plays Xbox games, and make it the only way to play them. Don't confuse people with "Everything is an Xbox" crap. Then stay on that track, and don't change your plans every single week.
Copy what worked for the OG and the 360, and what Sony and Nintendo are doing.

Sometimes I wonder if Microsoft is just run by a bunch of monkeys on c*caine, throwing sh*t on the wall...

Re: Talking Point: Will 'Project Helix' Be A Niche Device, Or An Xbox Console For The Masses?

Imagine the confusion, when the casuals discover the multiple store fronts, and having to create multiple accounts, and having their new games spread out among different stores.
I hope all the stores and library is fused into one, so they don't need to open different apps to get to them.

Things that comes natural to a PC gamer, might become a bit messy for newcomers.

Gonna be interesting seeing those first impressions.

It's so damn depressing, what has happened to the gaming industry...
I'm glad though, that there is a massive catalogue of games, from earlier console generations, that I haven't played yet.
And my back catalog on Steam is huge.
So if the entire industry crashed and burned today, I guess I'll survive 😁

Re: ROG Xbox Ally X Gets Its First Price Increase, Limited To One Region For Now

Exerion76

I wish people would stop buying RAM, consoles, pc handhelds etc, while this mess is going on.
Otherwise the manufacturers will think "Why lower the prices again, people still buy the stuff at insane prices". It happened to GPU's, and it might happen to the rest as well.
If everyone stops buying the tech, then they are forced to lower the prices.
Vote with your wallets.

@Deformedpye
Well I started playing videogames, back in 1979. Even Atari 2600 games ran at 60fps.
30fps isn't unplayable (unless it's a fast FPS or shoot em up), but being used to 60-240 fps now, it's quite jarring to go back to 30fps, especially when moving the camera around.
Also, gamers were impressed by graphics, ever since we moved on from 2600 to Intellivision and Colecovision. It's always been about evolving graphics, together with gameplay.

Re: Avowed Is Getting Its 'Biggest Update Yet' To Mark The Xbox Title's One-Year Anniversary

Doubt I'll return to it.
Played it for about 15-20 hours, but it was so generic and dated in design, that it felt like a waste of time.

Or maybe I'm just done with RPG:s overall.
Maybe it's my age (50), but I'm having a hard time getting hooked on games, like I used to. Feels like everything is just a rehash of games I played before. Same with movies now.

Can't be alone feeling this way...or am I?

Re: Seven Things We Miss About The Xbox 360 Era In 2025

I miss the "Blades".
It was so damn quick and easy to find what you wanted.
Same with the XMB on PS3.

It's insane, that it's been 20 years, since I first connected a 360, to the Sony Bravia projection TV I had back then, and experienced HD gaming for the first time, on a console.
Remember downloading those HD trailers, which was jawdropping. And the indie/arcade games, felt so new and fresh back then.

I miss those days, when buying a next gen console, was an EPIC upgrade. And we got a complete trilogy of games, like Gears of War, during the same generation.

Re: Microsoft Reportedly Still Has Plans To Make Its Own Xbox Handheld

Exerion76

If Xbox would have focused on ONE console, kept everything exclusive (no PC ports), and didn't release their games on Game Pass, day one, I bet Xbox would have been in a much better place now.
Xbox Play everywhere, was shooting themselves in the foot, again...

Oh, how I miss the OG and 360 era, when Xbox was focused, and kept delivering the goods.
