There is nothing Xbox about this handheld, just the logo and the Xbox UI launcher.

I'm gonna put a Xbox sticker on my PC, and voila, it's an Xbox 😂

I got a Switch 2, and the Steam version of Legion Go S.
I'll never get another Windows handheld again.
And from seeing peoples interactions with the thing, and getting annoying popups and other windows issues, doesn't help.

For me, it's one of these four, Doom Dark Ages, Shinobi Art of Vengeance, Ninja Gaiden Ragebound and Silent Hill f.

I might end up picking Shinobi, as my GOTY. 😁

Just be prepared for the quick battery drain, if you wanna play the games at better settings/resolution and framerates.
1-2 hours maximum when playing modern AAA games, is more common, than not.
Recommend locking framerates, at 40fps.

It's why I mostly play indies, AA and older AAA games on these PC handhelds.

And here comes the digital paranoia again.
I can still download ALL my digital PS3 games, even the ones that got de-listed, due to license running out.

Same with all my Steam games. Got plenty of games, that you can't buy anymore, that is still in my library.

To be honest, if all my PS3 games, was gone, I wouldn't have given a crap, since I haven't downloaded and played most of them, since 2010.
If I can't play ANY of my Steam games, 30 years from now, I doubt I will even care, as I'm probably six feet under, or have moved on to something new

Sold my entire Xbox 360, and PS3+4 collection a while back, as it was just gathering dust, and I got tired of seeing the clutter.

There are bigger issues in the world, to worry about, than digital vs physical video games.

Xbox is used to "Damage control" by now.

I got 3 months of Game Pass, for free.
But I haven't even touched it.
There is just nothing I wanna play on there.
I'm gonna play Ninja Gaiden 4 though, before the sub ends in mid November. But after that, I'm done with this service.
I've barely used GP, the last 3 years anyways.

Hard to get excited about Halo these days.

I've felt that COD fatigue, for about 15+ years.

I got a Legion Go S (Z1 Extreme), with Steam OS instead.
Not going back to a Windows handheld.
Even with a Xbox UI, it's still Windows running things.

Meh! I'm not that desperate, to get a $10 code.

I'm so bored of Kojima using Hollywood actors in his games. I just find it distracting.

How Randy can even say, that 30fps is good enough, for a fast paced FPS like this, is just insulting.
Try playing a FPS like this, running in 30, with a mouse.

I wish upscaling and framegen wasn't invented, forcing developers to actually optimize their damn games again.

Don't understand developers, that just don't know when to quit milking their mediocre games.

I want them to fully focus on Elder Scrolls VI instead.

Lol. 540p upscaled with FSR is so blurry, it's becomes unplayable to me.
I rather play at 40fps, with higher resolutions.

And NEVER use framegen, if your native fps is below 60fps. The input lag is brutal.

Never finished the base game, as I got bored by it. The pacing was way too slow, and I wish they had included a third-person option.
The Uncharted and later Tomb Raider games, felt more Indy, compare to this.

The series should have been buried a long time ago.

As expected then.
Dealing with Windows, on my Ally X, was pure hell at times.
Removed Windows and installed Steam OS instead, and then it was smooth sailing, including better performance in games.
Sure, Steam OS can't play Xbox games natively (yet), but the few times I wanna play Xbox games on a handheld, I can live with it being streamed.

It's insane how much money, that is wasted on AAA games.
Could have made a huge bunch of AA games for that budget, instead of this bloated mess...

Wonder if they ever will remaster part 2 and 3?
Would have been more excited, if this was a Trilogy collection.

I prefer the artstyle of the original 360 version.
This one, lacks that darker and gritty look. And the changes to some of the character designs, isn't great either. Wish they had changed it back, in this re-remaster.

Even back then, a lot of the micro computer games, felt like shovelware, that you played for 5 minutes, and never loaded up again.

So glad I got this on PC, where I have full control of what settings I wanna use or not.

I'm gonna boot it up, and probably play a couple of missions.
But I doubt I will play through it again (already did that 4 times). Been so many re-releases, that it's hard to get excited again.
And why the first game again, and not the entire trilogy in the same package? That would have been more interesting.
Though at least this is a free upgrade.

But to be honest, everything after part 3, have been mediocre, and made me a bit burned out on the series. But I hope E-Day might re-ignite that flame again.

Doesn't matter if it has a XBOX UI, it's still running windows in the background, which eats up performance, compared to SteamOS.

But if you can dual boot into SteamOS on this device, then maybe.
Though, after getting used to 8 inch screens on Switch 2 and Legion Go S, 7 inch is too small. My old eyes needs bigger screens, when it comes to gaming in 1080p.

Are you kidding me? The amount of stutters is massive.
The performance mode, looks like unstable 40-45 fps at most.
And the screen tearing? Yikes!
Even performance on X, is obviously not stable at all.

Sure, it's impressive it runs on the S, but solid is not a word I would use.

Love having the option, of using AA.
And also, it's easier to add a new rechargeable battery pack, than having to crack open the damn controller, when the internal battery dies.

Already got it on Steam.
Not usually a fan of Souls games, but this actually one hooked me.

Hopefully, this makes the "windows" experience, on a handheld, less horrible.
I just wish there was an official Xbox app for SteamOS, as I recently removed Windows from my Ally X, and installed the official version of SteamOS instead. Games run so much better and stable now, without Windows running in the background.

The Series X, is top class, when it comes to cramming parts together, in a small case. But it's definitely not made too look pretty, in a clear case.
It looks like someone crammed a PC, in their clear toilet bin.

There is a reason why my gaming PC, have no clear panels, on the case. Just a black monolith.

Don't have the patience with cinematic games anymore.

I just want a brand new Quake or Heretic.
Remember enjoying Quake 4, back on the 360, even though the framerate sucked.
Gave it another shot on PC last year, and it's pretty mediocre. Feels more like a "Quake of Duty", with the focus on the military, and the boring on rails and very linear level design.
Didn't bother to finish the game.

I want Quake to return to the gothic/Lovecraft styled worlds, of the original.

Hard to get excited by anything Star Wars and Marvel these days...

Yeah, it got VERY repetitive, to the point that I got bored at quit, maybe 70% into the game. The level design was mediocre as well.
Nice graphics, but that's about it.

I don't think this is available in my region (Sweden), or I just never noticed the service?

It's basically a mini PC, using tweaked laptop GPU/CPU, from AMD.
And it's already being fully utilised.
It's not like older generations, when consoles where still REAL consoles, that had unique special built components, that developers had to learn how to use, and push to the limits.
And there is a reason why we're starting to see more 30fps games, and the resolutions/settings getting lower again.
