Talking Point: After Halo: Campaign Evolved, What Do You Want Xbox To Do With The Series?

Following our chat yesterday about Forza Horizon 6 and its imminent release, we got thinking about the rest of Xbox's 2026 slate - with rumours pointing towards Halo: Campaign Evolved being the team's next major release for this year. Indeed, we've heard that the upcoming remake could even launch this summer, and it'd be pretty darn cool to get a brand-new Halo release in the next few months.

While that does sound neat, Halo: Campaign Evolved is kind of a known quantity in terms of it being a re-imagining of the very first Halo game - so naturally, we've already started thinking about what Halo Studios does after that. Following the release of Halo Infinite in 2021, the team could go anywhere with the series, really.

We heard in 2024 that the team was working on multiple projects following its switch to Unreal Engine 5, and Campaign Evolved is the only one to be revealed so far. That means more should be blipping away on the stove in the background, and we want to know what you'd like to see from the next Halo release outside of this Combat Evolved remake.

Does Halo Studios opt for another reboot of sorts like Infinite? Does it simply follow up the 2021 title with a sequel? Maybe the team even opts to go for a multiplayer-only title given that Campaign Evolved will deliver some Halo goodness for single-player fans this year. Honestly, we'd take anything with Halo, and we just hope that whatever's next for the franchise has a strong vision from concept all the way through to its ultimate execution.

Excited about the future of the franchise? Come talk to us about what you want to see next from the Halo series down in the comments.
