Re: Reaction: Seriously, Microsoft Doesn't Care About Using Call Of Duty To Sell Xboxes

EdgarTheBug

@trev666 let's put it this way, with it only being possible to play online by subscribing to gamepass and with call of duty coming to it in the future, if people have purchased call of duty (which would be dumb) and they only play call of duty they're theoretically still paying for that game, plus if they are playing it via game pass only for 2+ years, they have either spent between 200 to 300 wads of cash including the purchase and the micro-transactions, compared to a measley 70 beans, it's easy & better money for Microsoft/Xbox in the world of capitalism.

Re: As Of Last April, Xbox Series S Accounted For 75% Of Microsoft's Current-Gen Console Sales

I never said people don't, I'm in that boat, i love graphics, next gen games but I bought a series s after the series X for retail emulation (when it was possible) with a separate account, plenty of people bought one in the homebrew community including my friends, you can still play next gen games and do emulation at the same time, try it dude it's really good, the consoles are that good it's possible to upscale old games up to 4k.

Re: Talking Point: Have You Ever Bought An Xbox For One Specific Game?

EdgarTheBug

For me it was black ops 3, mainly for zombies which was a great game for that mode, then not long after that the Xbox one disc drive became faulty whilst I had really bad download speeds at the time so i grinded that game with nothing else to play on xbox for about three years, I got to the top 1000 range on the leaderboard but then a unlimited death machine glitch for all maps was found, it ruined the competitive flow on the leaderboard so I gave up after that.

Re: Xbox Begins Handing Out 15-Day Bans For Using Retail Mode Emulators

EdgarTheBug

I am one that bought & uses a series s for emulation and for that reason only, it will be offline forever as a dedicated emulation/movies machine due to me having an old Xbox one and a high-end pc, I haven't checked yet on the old console to see but I know you can't have a look at the social tab via the Xbox website so if that is included with the ban I have been suspended but oh well I've won either way.

Re: Xbox Wins FTC Court Case As Judge Denies Preliminary Injunction

EdgarTheBug

@RetroMan71 Yeah man, I'm hoping they bring Scarface, GUN, and Simpsons Hit & Run for example but I think they have their eyes on the live service type of games only to be honest because the current Activision Blizzard catalogue is just that really along with Microsoft's games at the moment excluding hi-fi rush, I dislike them all but I do enjoy a bit of Minecraft with the family.

Re: Xbox Gaming Revenue Down 4% YoY In Latest Earnings Report

EdgarTheBug

The harsh reality is, the Xbox is a media device now not a dedicated gaming console, excluding YouTube via TV and the console, most people have other devices to watch and consume other forms of media but if there isn't a top eye catching IP like let's say Spider-Man then people (especially kids) are not going to be running to you waving their money in the air, they need one big time instead of focusing on the subscription-xcloud route with games funded and developed on a budget, it's just like Disney+ & Netflix, they all become junk in the short term, most people only know & play "AAA" games, COD GTA & Fortnite and that's the problem.

Re: Talking Point: Xbox One Users, What Do You Think Of The Console In 2023?

EdgarTheBug

I use the original Xbox one for movies in bed but my god its super sluggish without an SSD just loading up the xbox user interface compared to the new consoles, I was playing COD WWII, loading up the class load out system when inside a lobby with a timer changing a few attachments quickly before a game starts, the asset's (guns) loading on screen do set you back a couple of seconds because of it. The lack of stronger/faster WiFi frequencies on that thing is a bummer especially when paying for 500mbs, the console likes to receive roughly 70mbs only most of the time but all in all I do have a Series X now and the Xbox one was used for retail emulation but with that now nuked it's just junk at the bottom of my bedroom shelf ready to be turned on for a random movie night.
