my Facebook feed it full of people proudly proclaiming that they can play all their Xbox console games on this, and the publishing websites are agreeing with them. Are people idiots, or is this a mis-information campaign??

it's staggering, but not surprising, how many people online seem to think this is a portable xbox, and that they can play all of their XBOX games (purchased on console) on it.

I honestly think XBOX has been a bit naughty in how this was advertised, as the average bloke doesn't seem to realise this is not what they think it is. They think it's a portable xbox, not a windows handheld!

We had Gears E-Day, Fable, Perfect Dark in the showcase a year ago, they haven't released, and nothing this year, so while last years was great, the games I was most excited for are now 2026 or later

I wish they would only shows games that are coming out SOON, not 2+ years away...

I was half tempted by this new ROG handheld til I checked the list and practically none of my Xbox owned games are on it. Even the MS owned ones like Fallout 4. Hard pass.

No Fable, no Forza, no 'A', but that was pretty good!

@Kaloudz It's a different studio handling the remake, and I'm sure that I read something about it requiring some of the Witcher 4 assets or something along those lines.

shame - much as I'm looking forward to W4, I'd love to play W1 (and hopefully W2 one day) first, to round out Geralts story.

@Kaloudz CDPR said several times that Witcher 4 comes out before the Witcher 1 remake, sadly...

It would be great for most of the people who own an Xbox, though perhaps some would not like the move towards it being more of a PC and less of a traditional console...

Xbox selling their games on PS makes financial sense, at least in the short term, as it brings in revenue. But I just can't see how this move would make financial sense for MS. Doubtful a significant number of PS owners would sell up and buy an Xbox due to this, so they are stuck with a small market share, and MS would make significantly less on software sales, as why buy from the Xbox store when steam is cheaper, so 70% becomes 30%, and if they have to remove the monthly fee to play online, as you would be able to play for free using the steam app, then that further reduces their income.

The general public, the average console buyers and not those of us on reddit and sites like this, would not give a damn, I doubt most of them would know Xbox exists, as there is so little store presence, marketing, etc. So yeah, it's all rather baffling to me.

Be interesting to see what happens though.

good stuff. 2 or 3 games on the go I want to finish, then it'll be switch 2 for a while, but looking forward to playing this in 6 months once it's patched!

its an OK campaign... COD MW is far far superior, so big shame that isn't coming across for those that haven't played it

lt looks very pretty, not much actual gameplay shown, but with the Witcher 3 talent involved I'm optimistic. But can you create a character, do an evil play through and grow horns, etc. So much is still unknown, but fingers crossed.

@Millionski I have had the last 3 xboxes. picked up a PS5 a few months back and I have over 25 exclusives on my Wishlist. I respectfully couldn't disagree with your sentiments more.

@Fiendish-Beaver I just don't buy it! I picked up a PS5 4 months ago after being xbox since xbox one, and having well over 100 digital games. PS5 had loads of great games I couldn't get anywhere else, so I got a PS5 to play them. Once there were over 20 PS exclusives I wanted to play, it was a no-brainer. Same reason I got a Switch to play Mario and Zelda (and to bowl!!).
Just having a couple of exclusive games won't tempt anybody from PS5 to Xbox, so just gears and Forza won't do it... but 10 games? 15 games? That's what it would need. And they finally had all the studios to make a go of it... But that opportunity is now lost. Too many mistakes in the past, not enough consoles sold, hence multi-platform.

I have an xbox with 100 digital games in my library. But picked up a PS5 recently as there are so many exclusive games there that I want to play, and I need a PS5 to play them. I don't think I'm alone in doing this, seeing countless reddit threads of xbox owners doing the same.

I just don't buy the argument that people wouldn't buy an xbox if it had a load of great games only playable there, because they already have lots of games on their switch or PS5. I just don't think that's true.

They threw in the towel without really trying at all.

@Ilyn I only got a PS5 last year, first Sony console since PS2, so I'll pick up the Days Gone remaster!

must admit, I'm more excited about outer worlds 2 than avowed right now, but looking forward to playing both...

@Rog-X no horse in this race as have all the consoles, but I'd be amazed if this isn't announced for PS5 soon...

I really, really hope Fable is good, and comes out this year. Probably more excited for this than anything else (GTA VI aside, I suppose), marginally ahead of Gears E-day.

Had fun with my Switch, and will get a Switch 2 once there is a 3D Mario on there, but pointless for anything other than Indies and Nintendo games, as it is so underpowered. Fingers crossed they do something to make Switch games (especially BOTW) run better, but no chance you won't have to pay, this being Nintendo.

If they release it next year, and end Series S and X parity, it will burn the 50% of Xbox owners with a series S. But if games need to be made for the new Xbox, and Series X and S, it'll be a mess too.

@PsBoxSwitchOwner oh I don't doubt that, I just can't see the logic! I can't see how it doesn't hugely impact Xbox sales in the next generation, and people jumping ship also reduces gamepass subs.

I'm also emotionally scarred from Betamax, BSB squarial and Sega Dreamcast personal history haha

Not in the least bit surprising. I can't fathom how MS think this will benefit them. I've been Xbox for over 15 years, and recently got a PS5. Decisions like this validate that choice, doubt I'll turn the Xbox on again at this rate!

mixed expectations, I'm sure (if not at launch, then eventually) it'll be a great game, but without the gruff, funny Geralt as main character, it'll be a tonally different game. I'm probably more excited for Witcher 1 remake, as I want more prime Geralt, haha

only weird thing about this news is how long before it gets delisted like FH4 was? 1 or 2 years max... FH6 would make more sense at this point on PS5

As somebody who owns an XSX and PS5, it's funny how over on the PS5 sites everybody is writing it off just because it's in first person, whereas here everybody just hopes that it's good... but expects the worst

I gave up waiting and picked up a PS5. 8h into remake and loving it... hopefully these games come across eventually though!

I don't use gamepass, so I'm not paying to rent a stream of the games I already own!

@Markatron84 I'd assume because you need gamepass ultimate for this, and most first party games are already on gamepass, so are covered...

I picked up a PS5 recently, for all the PS4/5 exclusives I've never played... plan was to still buy everything else on Xbox. But I can't see the point now, I won't be buying another Xbox if everything will eventually make it to PS. Buying multi-plat games on my PS5 moving forward.
