I'd just love to be able to download to my series X the games I purchased digitally on my 360 that have been delisted, principally Sega Rally and Outrun

Despite gaming since the ZX spectrum 48k days, and owning most consoles over the years, my first tomb raider games have been the survivor trilogy, and I really enjoyed the first one (not okayed the other 2 yet, only got them last year).

Without sentimental attachment, these remastered games just look like too much hard work, haha!

@BrilliantBill ...but equally, Ori was ported to the switch, and that was an xbox games studios title, wasn't it?

@Friendly yes, exactly this - IF it does, as I think/hope, turn out to be a lot of fuss about nothing and just games like SoT, HiFi Rush, etc, then it's business as usual as there have been several smaller games ported in the past.

The only thing that makes me a little anxious is, why have an 'update on the xbox business' if they're just porting a couple of smaller games, as they have done in the past? Something is clearly afoot and, good or bad, it's not going to be JUST news on a couple of ports. That makes no sense!

@Sakai and unless the games are as good as, or better, than Sony first party games, would they sell enough for this to even make sense?

if the film you want to watch isn't on Netflix, you can at least buy it on DVD. if the game you want to play isn't on gamepass, and there are no consoles, how do you access it? Unless every game developed is put onto the service, it would cripple independent studios, wouldn't it?
I just don't see there not being a box that you can use to purchase games and store them?

also more on topic, if xbox stop with consoles, is there a guarantee Nintendo and Sony let them put gamepass on their machines? Don't most gamepass subs come from xbox owners??

the amount of bed-wetting in this thread is staggering...

I played Alan Wake remastered last month, as wanted to run through it before Control and AW2... I almost quit a few times in the first half of the game, was so samey! But it really picked up in the second half of the game, enough that I picked up American Nightmare on sale the other day!

so waiting until this is sorted before I get into AW2... still have AN and Control to play before that though

@Dusk_Actual the touted year skip was 2023, as MWII was originally meant to be for 24 months, at least I thought so

RE this news, if true, kills any hype for me as a big COD campaign fan... campaign not being made by Treyarch, but Raven, who make Warzone... and its open world. So building on everything people hated about MWIII's campaign and ignoring the big cinematic set pieces and linear nature that make COD campaigns (to me, at least) so good!

uninstalled this after I beat the first tower boss as felt like the gameplay loop would just carry on forever and ever... and I have like 50 games in my library I want to play, haha

Microsoft just doesn't market the xbox at all in the UK, I'm sure it's the same elsewhere. There are PS adverts on the purexbox website! This website is plastered with PS5 suicide squad ads.

Every major new game, releasing on PS5 and xbox, is advertised on bus stops up and down the UK in a blue PS advertisement. I doubt most members of the public even know that Xbox exists. Pathetic from MS... what do they expect, they just don't seem to care about marketing or selling consoles at all.

not sure tbh... I did LOVE the gyro on my switch pro controller for Zelda BOTW archery, so would certainly find a use for that feature... back paddles sound good, but on a personal note, due to nerve damage in my right hand (very embarrassing story involving nakedness and non-safety glass doors!) I'd struggle to be able to use them

still upset I only found out about this rewards scheme recently, I bought so many games last year as level1, would have raked in the points if I knew to up myself to level2... hey ho

happy if it's working for folks, but every day I do this, and it shows me racking up hundreds of points, yet only a small chunk of them actually go towards my total!

damn it... this game has sucked me in like animal crossing during lockdown...

7 or 8 hours in, starting to get weapons for my pals, and considering trying one of the dungeons soon...

won't play this again until shattered space, but I hope they have fixed that quirk that fills your ship inventory whenever you edit your ship.. so annoying. have zero faith they will fix the hourly crashes for >100 hour save files.

Indy stole that. I hoped it would be good but that just blew me away. Avowed also looks WAY better than last I saw of it

I visited CeX for the first time a few weeks back and sold a bunch of handhelds, games, etc I haven't looked at in over 20 years, and got about £700, so as somebody who can't be bothered with e-bay, they're fine for me!!

played reach and CE last year, for the first time, just never was into FPS when they came out. now playing Halo 2 campaign with a mate... having a great time

I assume it still keeps crashing if you have a big enough save file?

Not much would make me insta-buy these days, miserable old git that I am, but I would be thrilled if they launched a gears 1-3 remaster collection. So many great memories of Gears 360 horde sessions

I leant my mate my Xbox One in February when I got a Series X. He used it to play Starfield via streaming, and we play Halo online together. You can still buy most new games for it. To me, that isn't a dead platform! There is just a newer model that plays games at a higher resolution, frame rate, etc. As somebody said above, it's a different model to what we've had in the past.

@NeutronBomb sounds like a good idea, though (without bashing this website), they don't review that many games as it is, so doubt they'd have the resources to track every released and reviewed game in this way. Even massive games like Jedi Survivor don't have reviews.

Have to admit after playing Witcher 3 this year, lack of city maps in Starfield never really bothered me as the cities were pretty small / easy to navigate, but it can't hurt.

Just hope the new story expansion involves the serpent religion / their home planet, that could be interesting. final DLC leading to a new all out war, that would be v cool...

Hellblade 2 and, hopefully, Avowed for me...
