Alinea Analytics Says Gears Reloaded Is Tracking Well Behind Forza Horizon 5 On PS5

This week, the folks over at Alinea Analytics have shared their latest data on the biggest games of last month, and we have some interesting sales and statistics surrounding Gears Reloaded, Helldivers 2 and more on Xbox & PS5.

Starting with Gears here, despite this being the series' PlayStation debut, Alinea says that the game is tracking well behind this year's Forza Horizon 5 PS5 release. According to the analytics firm, Gears Reloaded has sold just north of 250k copies on PlayStation so far, whereas Forza Horizon 5 sold over 1.5 million copies in the same timeframe.

Microsoft's Gears remaster seems to be doing well with the Xbox crowd, though. Reloaded cracked into the top 10 most-downloaded games of August 2025 despite only being released on the 26th - bringing in roughly 1.3 million downloads; likely carried by its day one inclusion in Xbox Game Pass.

Speaking of things that are going down well on Xbox, Alinea also has some interesting figures for Helldivers 2's debut on the platform. According to this data, the first PlayStation-published title on Xbox has sold almost 1 million copies in less than a week on Series X|S (926K copies in six days, to be exact), which seems like a very good return to us.

The full analytics article down below also provides some interesting figures relating to Grounded 2, Mafia: The Old Country and more, and it's well worth a read if you're intrigued by this sort of stuff. It's worth noting that these figures are all estimates, with publishers less transparent with the public about sales figures these days.

What do you think to the debuts of Gears and Helldivers on PS5 and Xbox, respectively? Talk to us about 'em down below.
