I think I was in the middle of both Rogue Prince of Persia and Silent Hill f when it dropped.

I beat the first chapter, but then went back to silent hill f (and got distracted by Ball Pit). Just beat silent hill f last week (one play through )…so just got back to NG4 yesterday. Am now on the 4th chapter and really enjoying.

Man, I would have waited to scoop Unfinished Business if I’d known this sweet physical was coming.

I used god mode to beat the OG FF7 earlier this year. Went into the final dungeon three times, each taking 45 minutes to 1.5 hours, just to die. I’m not proud of this, but I’m too old to grind. It’s just an option, no one is forcing players to use this feature. People get their feathers ruffled way too much.

Loved Shenmue 1 and 2 on the Dreamcast. Not even worried about the struggle reviews of Shenmue 3, since it sounds more so like they just didn’t “modernize” the game enough.

I quite often buy games on sale that are really good deals, since I try not to let gamepass dictate what I play.

My gamepass is good through May next year, but may let it lapse cause my backlog way too full at the moment. Feel I mostly keep gamepass for my kids who game jump way too much

I had been chugging through Dragon Quest 3 remake, but been struggling to beat the final boss. Don’t think I prepped my team with the right builds/jobs, and not in the mood to grind my levels up 🤣

So I started playing something from my gamepass backlog, Eternal Strands. Put about 3 hours in and enjoying how it’s opening up. Interested to see where it goes

I mean I typically only spend more than $70 if there is a cool physical collectors edition. Even then I rarely go higher than $150. So basically for me to drop $80 on a digi game I’d want something tangible (like the avowed steelbook).

@oopsiezz I tend to buy 3rd party games after playing on gamepass, but that’s mostly because I know they won’t be there forever. With first party, don’t see the need to buy unless it’s DLC

Basically play whatever is calling me at the moment.

I started Khazan, but was kinda stuck on third boss (recommended level 18…I think I was like 42 by time I beat 🤣), so started South of Midnight. Then went back to khazan dir a few days…but have now started Expedition 33…

I really want to play one of the retro JRPGs that dropped in last year (Grandia, FF pixel remasters, Suikoden, or Lunar)…but something newer keeps pulling me in. I really need to play unicorn overlords as well.

@Fiendish-Beaver yeah, I’m somewhat assuming the main reason they’ll do soothed one is to help coalesce their Xbox/pc storefronts, then just let other PC makers mostly handle after that 🤷‍♂️

Game was too good. I also look forward to what compulsion cooking next. I played contrast earlier this year and enjoyed it. SoM is basically exponential growth of that game ; I haven’t played we happy few so can’t really comment.

@StylesT agree, way too many games. I haven’t finished Avowed…but want to play AC Shadows, Atelier Yumia or Kazan.

Original Xbox day 1…I was a Sega refugee (Genesis->saturn->dreamcast). Jumped on Xbox because of the Sega support, and stuck through even as they released games exclusively on PlayStation (ie was mega upset yakuza didn’t originally come to Xbox, but good things come to those who wait 🤣). Love that series systems are getting Japanese support like in the 360 days.

I’ve also never played Halo or Gears 🫣…but loved me some fable (new one been my most anticipated since getting my series x in 2022).

I’ve prob used more in the past month since they revamped the rewards system. If I can’t play on console, I’ll play something easy on my phone (like vampire survivors) for a bit to get the reward.

Can’t wait to play this. Looks too good, so am enjoying the generally positive reviews this far

At this point, I think Xbox is just trying something that is ruffling the feathers but in 5-10 years we’ll all look back and wonder why it was never always like this. I say this as someone who doesn’t really understand giving up exclusives and doesn’t think it’s the best path forward, but am apt to believe they know something I don’t about where next Xbox is going.

I gave my #2 unlisted vote to “Visions of Mana” - it’s not the greatest game, but probs the most fun I had playing a game this year.
