@HelloCraigo Cooley. Was just curious that even with the Xbox version delayed whether they let you demo the current build on Xbox

Did they miss it? If delayed on Xbox, which platform was the preview on?

@Banjo- yeah I really enjoyed Octo 1. I think the main reason I stepped away was because it was the third game I started after getting my Series X. I was basically like “why am I playing a pixel game on this beast?” — since then I actually seem to find myself enjoying old school style games more than modern games 🤣

Just beat Eiyuden Chronicles hundred heroes, which reminded me of Octo so much

Man…crazy that they just shadow dropped. Now I gotta find time to fit it in.

Might play Octo 1 first (though I bought when on sale, I still enjoy gamepass rewards). I played about 5 hours last time it was on gamepass but wanted to play something more “modern” … think I ended up playing Tales of Arise.

@armondo36 I somewhat had that thought at the beginning of the year, when all the multiplat stuff started happening. I 50/50 wouldn’t be surprised if he announces his retirement at the event and/or that IGN interview (though I’d personally like to see him stick around)

@jesse_dylan seems like it might also compete with Visions of Mana and Dawntrail? Is SE repeating their fall/winter 2022 and about to drop too much stuff and wonder why no one buys/plays?

When that Where Winds meet game got leaked as going to be present, I looked it up. Looks money. Hope that one does get announced for Xbox (hoping it’s just a marketing embargo).

Man I bought this game randomly in December, cause I was trying to get back into fighting games.

Finally played a few weeks ago and had no idea what I was doing. Not sure I want to get stomped on the net 🤣

I was a Sega guy since Genesis. So after Dreamcast, and Sega throwing a lotta support behind OG Xbox I naturally went with Xbox. Also why I basically went with 360.

I skipped X1/PS4 era (grad school /dating/marriage), then went with Series X when I decided to get back into gaming as I still had a lot of my OG Xbox and 360 games (and I thought EVERYTHING was back compat 🤣…soon found out only about 1/2 my games were, but back compat still so money).

@Rickyl yeps…though they’ll just have a support studio create “hi-fi rush” mode for COD instead of Zombie mode

Man…1/2 the comments on here hating on the event. Clearly it’s not for people who already have an Xbox; they letting people essentially come try who otherwise probs never would

Played the game last fall in anticipation of HB2.

I thought it was one of the most artsy fartsy games I’d ever played, but really enjoyed it. Can’t wait for #2

I’ve been playing Eiyuden Chronicles. About 30 hours in.

I do want to play Ghost of Eden…I bought at launch, just to show support…but so many good games to play. I might play it (or unicorn overlords) after Hellblade 2

@Banjo- yeah I think that’s what we don’t know…how much of the core of the studio has left. Maybe Xbox will give more info one day…still seems silly to close your only Japanese studio

@BacklogBrad I was thinking about that also. Essentially even people with gamepass didn’t try it…just want Xbox to pump it full of the same games over and over I guess 🤷‍♂️

All this GamePass discussion makes it clear why Diablo IV was the first ABK game added. They know how many copies sold on Xbox, so now they can estimate how many lost sales they potentially had due to some people just waiting til it came to gamepass.

So I guess if COD ain’t day 1, they can somewhat estimate how many people might just “hold out”

After putting my pitchfork down, my guess is we don’t have the full story as to why these studios may have been shuttered. If they needed to hire, maybe Xbox thought it wasn’t worth it. Still seems silly to have shut them down though

Never had an X1, but my friend was all about the game. Istill haven't played the game...but bought it used last year (along with Recore and Ryse), so plan to play at some point.

I really have no preference on time. If I don’t want to play a long game I’ll play something else.

I have noticed when I beat shorter games, it feels better. With long games, it often feels like you just want it to be over and are only beating it due to time invested.

Honestly even though it’s less, I enjoy that you now get points for playing any game. Even though I have gsmepass, I don’t always play those games (past month been bouncing between Infinite Wealth (best it), OG FF7 and now Dragons Dogma 2).

@GamingFan4Lyf maybe “reassess” really means “we need to actually go read that ID@xbox contract” 🤣

@alexcarv_guardiang3 from what I read, they were part of ID@xbox, and part of that program provides funds to help port to Xbox (but is money the dev doesn’t have to pay back). So I think the issue is, did they take the money and then bail? Lotta speculation that if they did, then maybe they should give the money back

@VoidPunk I looked at the Xbox scores. It seems to be lower due to 3-5 sites giving it extra low scores. If those were removed as outliers they’d probs have the same score more or less

Def looking forward to this. Played these back in the day on Saturn/Dreamcast and really enjoyed. So I’ll take the trip down memory lane via HD

I scooped the collectors edition..,but I mean Sega also released Infinite Wealth the week before. Both are massive games, but I went with Infinite Wealth. I’ll probs play P3R in December 😅

1. Over the weekend I was basically “WTF! It’s all over!”
2. By yesterday had kinda simmered down. Still don’t expect the best news, but don’t think it’s the end.
3. Then friend sent the new Tom Warren thing and kinda back to not really sure what’s to think. So just enjoying the system as it currently is. Not really in my control.

@Kaloudz I think they need to say something like “games will be multiplat, but always release first on Xbox.” Then we at least know they still committed and still provides an incentive to be in Xbox ecosystem (if you care about playing games day one).

@ExtremeGamer yeah the third party dev perception is one of my biggest concerns.

Several people have touched on this but it is good for people to have access to more games, and short term Xbox will probably make a decent amount of money.

But also touched on by several people, long term it’s not good for the brand. I’d be more concerned if third party publishers see this as a reason to start supporting Xbox less, since they are also not clear what Xbox’s end game is.

Man after I played the one level (if you played you know) I just wanted to play again. Then realized there was no chapter select like the remaster. So this is great news

Was joking with a friend on this topic last night that maybe Limited Run or iam8bit start producing Xbox first party games physically. Def enough of us that would scoop those.

I’m still mad I missed that RWBY Arrowfell release. Almost bought digitally last week since it was on sale…but keep hoping to see a copy in the wild that isn’t $100+

I’m also in the minority of Xbox owners who prefers physical. Maybe this leads to more deals with LimitedRun/iam8bit to produce their first party games for those who want?

I remember last year they said they were going to make it easier for indies to produce physical copies, and then we never heard anything. I guess we know why now 🤣

Can’t wait to play this. I couldn’t get into SF6 (Xbox controller sucks for 6 button arcade style), and Tekken has always been closer to VF and DOA which were my go tos growing up

SE inclusion in the DD was quite unexpected, but I loved seeing more of Visions of Mana. Looking forward to summer 2024 🤙 and hopefully a few more surprises from SE/Xbox

Out of the 4 PX GOTYs, I’ve only played Ori and Starfield. I’d give it to Ori by a long shot as the best…I even liked Blind Forest more than Will of the Wisps (but I basically played them back to back).

I mean clearly this is the kind of game that will probably sell well without gamepass (I plan on buying). But given that every other Yakuza/LAD game has been on gamepass this more than likely will at some point which may actually hurt sales on Xbox as some peeps will just wait it out

Beat the first area…after a lotta struggling. Then got maybe 1/3-1/2 way through second area. Then put down. Was def an interesting game and my first soulslike. I plan to revisit…just needed a break from dying 🤣
