As part of the Gamescom 2025 festivities today (and slightly before Opening Night Live), Bandai Namco has announced Tales of Xillia Remastered - coming to Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on October 31st, 2025.
This game was originally a PlayStation 3 exclusive that launched back in the early 2010s, and it released to pretty good reviews at the time - the OG version has an average of 78 on Metacritic. Of course, it's not the first entry in the "Tales of" series to release on Xbox by any means - we've seen the likes of Tales of Vesperia and Tales of Arise in the past.
It's also been confirmed that Tales of Xillia Remastered is targeting 60FPS on both Xbox Series X and S (although the Series S version "may fluctuate during gameplay").
We'll leave you with more details about the game and its remaster below.
At the start of their epic journey through the vibrant world of Rieze Maxia—where humans and spirits coexist in harmony—players can choose to step into the shoes of either Milla or Jude. But peace is under threat. The kingdom of Rashugal has begun using a mysterious, powerful device that’s draining the world’s mana, the very essence of life. Determined to stop the destruction and restore balance, Milla and Jude embark on a daring quest to destroy the device and save their world.
Explore with new quality-of-life updates including improved graphics, an auto-save feature, the ability to toggle encounters, early shop access, and more.Tales of Xillia Remastered contains downloadable content, which was launched alongside the original release and includes costumes, useful items, and other fun extras. (Select licensed downloadable content not included.)

NintendoLife is slipping. I had to come over here to find out the switch announcement.
Wow, they're finally starting to abandon last gen consoles. No PS4 or Xbox One? Even Pac-Man World 2 is still getting an Xbone release in September.
Very surprising, mostly because Bamco has been the most consistent supporter of last gen consoles still. Wouldn't have expected Xillia to be very demanding.
@Ryu_Niiyama well it was mentioned on push square.
Never could get into this series, but I'll try again someday.
So many former playstation exclusive coming to Xbox, Right now, there are actually more exclusive games on Xbox than on PlayStation — which is kind of ironic, lol.
Glad to see Xbox finally getting more of these
Looking forward to this. Only wish Xbox was getting a physical, since I’ve scooped the others physically.
@TheCityPop Me too. I'll no doubt pick this one up in due course. I quite liked ToV.
I was hoping for Xillia 2 as well, but perhaps that will come later down the line. The good news is that I recently bought Xillia 2 brand new off of eBay, so I can always play it there.
