15 Xbox Indie Games That Should Be On Your Radar In September 2025

We're already a third of the way into September (how did that happen?!), but considering there are so many games coming out on Xbox this month, it's far too easy to overlook all the amazing indie titles that are in the mix.

Here at Pure Xbox, you've seen us trying to highlight a few of them already - games like Bad Cheese, Deadzone: Rogue, Attic Archive, Yet Another Zombie Survivors - and we're going to keep doing this as often as we can.

In the sake of fairness, those titles haven't made this list - but here are more details on each of them:

So, beyond these, what else can we talk about? The answer is "a lot", and we've done our best to pick out 15 of the most intriguing indie games coming out on Xbox in September.

Please don't limit yourself to just these 15 games though - there's so much other good stuff ahead this month, and we'll be highlighting all of it in our weekly "coming to Xbox next week" roundups, as well as in some individual articles.

Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel (September 3)

Hordes of Hel is a gripping roguelike horde-survivor game set in the dark realms of Norse Mythology. Fight waves of enemies to earn divine blessings of ancient Viking Deities, explore hostile worlds and face powerful bosses. Become a god-like warrior in this ultimate showdown.

Adventure of Samsara (September 4)

A hero resurrected. A new Adventure. With stunning, 2D pixel art, Adventure of Samsara combines classic gameplay, a deeply connected world, and a heady, twisting narrative of death, rebirth and memory. Become the Solar Champion and restore balance to the multiverse.

Void Crew (September 4)

Void Crew is a Chaotic, Co-op Roguelite game for 1 to 6 players: Outfit your spaceship and crew for thrilling quests, brave fierce enemies in Space Battles... and try not to panic!

KARMA: The Dark World (September 10)

KARMA: The Dark World is a first-person cinematic psychological thriller set in a dystopian world where the Leviathan Corporation is omnipresent. The year is 1984, the place is East Germany, and things are not quite what they seem.

Labyrinthine - Werewolf Deluxe Edition (September 11)

A co-op horror game like no other... Play with 1-8 players online as you solve puzzles, collect items and run from the horrors that lie within. Follow in the footsteps of Joan in the story mode or tackle procedurally generated maps that scale with your level and bring a fresh experience each game..

The Devil Is In The Details (September 12)

A survival horror spot-the-difference game set in a twisted Hell gameshow. Demons will distract you, torment you, or try to kill you. The Arbiter is your mysterious guide—sometimes helpful, sometimes...not so much. Spot the anomalies or suffer the consequences.

Arctic Awakening (September 18)

A first-person narrative adventure set in the unforgiving Arctic. Your plane crashed in a storm, leaving only your court-mandated therapy bot for company as you journey to find your co-pilot and uncover the mysteries buried beneath the ice.

Formula Legends (September 18)

From the golden age to the modern era, race through time in Formula Legends. Master reimagined circuits, command legendary cars, and chase glory across decades of motorsport history. A love letter to Formula racing, where speed, skill, and strategy define the champion.

Platypus Reclayed (September 18)

22 years after its first appearance, the iconic Platypus is coming back, featuring updated gameplay, new weapons and additional content. Get ready to dive into the heart-pounding action of this fast, frantic, and incredibly fun arcade-style shoot-em-up!

Jump Space (September 19)

Jump Space (formerly Jump Ship) is a mission based co-op PvE for 1-4 players, where you are the crew of a spaceship. Transition seamlessly from crewing the ship to on-foot exploration and space walks. Explore, upgrade, and survive intense encounters in deep space together.

Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree (September 19)

Forgive Me Father 2 (September 23)

Wizordum (September 23)

Wizordum is a retro FPS that puts you in the role of a Mage on a quest to track down the source of Chaos. With a wide arsenal of spells and magic items, battle your way through the world of Terrabruma in this unique blend of classic 90s shooters and modern gaming elements.

Hotel Barcelona (September 26)

From the creators of DEADLY PREMONITION + NO MORE HEROES. A marshal possessed by a murderer. A hotel full of killers. CHECK IN, WIPE ‘EM OUT.

Echoes of the Plum Grove (September 30)
