Out of nowhere, publisher NetEase has just announced an incredibly ambitious-looking AAA title in development for PC and consoles - in the form of Blood Message. Part Assassin's Creed Shadows, part Tomb Raider reboot, Blood Message is a "narrative-driven, linear action-adventure game" developed by the team behind Naraka: Bladepoint - and it's looking mighty impressive so far.
You can take a good look at the title via the game's reveal trailer up above, which shows quite a nice mix of action and cutscene work across its roughly five-minute length. We're not entirely sure what's gameplay and what's not here - but it all looks believable enough, and rather enticing so far.
Here's the team's official introduction to Blood Message:
"Blood Message is a narrative-driven, linear action-adventure single-player game developed by NetEase ThunderFire's 24 Entertainment Studio, coming to PC and console platforms. The game is based on the true historical event of 'Dunhuang's Uprising'.
Set in the late Tang Dynasty in 848 AD, players take on the role of a nameless messager who embarks on a perilous eastward journey to deliver a message that holds the fate of his homeland.
Alongside his son, they must survive relentless enemy sieges and a treacherous three-thousand-li odyssey, fighting against impossible odds to return to the heart of the Tang: Chang'an. Amidst the desert sands, they etch the final tale of loyalty in the Great Tang.
The world has heard too many stories of emperors and generals—Blood Message is an ode to the unsung heroes."
That's pretty much everything we know about Blood Message so far, with the game targeting PC and consoles at some point in the future but having no solid release date just yet. We'll chuck a couple of stills down below as well so you can get more of a flavour of what to expect:

Sounds very good I'll keep an eye out for this one!
In the current time of copious amounts of souls and giant open worlds, I welcome any and all linear, story driven games.
Trailer genuinely looks good. Hope this turns out to be a hit.
That looks like it could be a masterpiece. Definitely something I will play if the finished product is as good as the trailer...
Have you watched the above trailer, @Ricky-Spanish? If not, it's definitely worth a look. The game looks astounding...

Already hoping this turns out great and sells well
Oh my, that, that, looks incredible.
@Fiendish-Beaver I just read the article the first time just checked out the trailer there.
It looks spectacular to be honest looks like a proper epic!!
The visuals aswell 😱 the footage must be next gen level hopefully we can still get it on current gen when it drops!
Wow!
Yes, @Ricky-Spanish, I took it from your comment that you hadn't watched the trailer. It really looks like pretty much nothing we have seen so far in terms of graphics alone. We just have to hope that consoles includes Xbox. I was shocked when I realised that Sony hadn't snapped it up as an exclusive, though there's still time for that, I guess...
It looks great, hopefully it will PLAY great too. But while parts of it look fresh I can't get the nagging feeling out of my head it feels very derivative too. A lot of those scenes feel cut straight out of other games and movies.
Looks pretty cool and liking the sound of something a bit more linear. One to keep an eye on.
@Fiendish-Beaver Yup it looks amazing the Indy game for me has the best visuals I've seen in cut scenes at least in a game but this is on another level and the fact it's going to be linear story driven 3rd person person game I'm super hyped!!
I just hope it will be fully multiplatform game it looks amazing!!
Take my money and give me a release date before 2028… just sounds ambitious and too good to be true.
I'm very intrigued.
This looked fantastic, dare I say even better than the W3 tech demo. Definitely interested, but I cannot see it released before next gen.
This is only going on an assumption it's coming to Xbox via it's "coming to consoles". It was not outright said, so it could come day 1, like Black Myth Wukong, like FF7 Remake, or frankly never. We will have to get official confirmation.
Sounds more Assassins Creed then Assassins Creed has been for a long time. I’ll be all over this if it’s more about surveillance and setting up for that perfect takedown.
Was playing Tenchu recently and would love to see another one of those.
This looks incredibly good, that being said until I've seen proper gameplay, I've learned my lesson to keep my excitement in check until gameplay has been revealed for consoles. I do imagine this would look great on my Series X and 65 inch 4K TV lol keeping my hype in check.
Has anyone seen the trailer for the upcoming Capcom game The Blood of a Dawn Walker? Holy wow does that look good! IDK y'all but I love me some vampires in games. One of the most fun vampire games I've ever played was infamous festival of blood DLC way back on PS3. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing gameplay for The Blood of a Dawn Walker.
Trailer def got my interest. Will def be keeping an eye on this one
@Fiendish-Beaver
You honestly have nothing to be concerned about it's like a Timed Xbox exclusive considering it's 24 Entertainment the people who made baraka blade point releasing it first on Xbox on the console platforms so it was first released on Xbox and Game pass then Playstation a year later.
They didn't mention anything about timed exclusivities over there either.. they used the same label as blood message did on Naraka Bladepoint
So it comes to PC first then Xbox and Playstation a year later or more.
How exactly?
Microsoft Gaming aka Xbox - Phil Spencer has Firm stance with Net Ease they helped Net Ease renew their license with Blizzard after some controversy on Blizzards end, Microsoft got them a new deal in 2024 in exchange for big titles from Net Ease to come to Xbox and console platforms.
So it is likely a timed exclusive.
So blood message is coming to PC first then Xbox and eventually Playstation.
