A lot has changed in the last 5-7 years. I only pre order when i know i want to play it on release to get the pre-install so it is ready really. The last great pre order bonus for me was the Todd Mcfarlene poster for Assassins Creed 4. In. Frame on my wall. That was a great poster!
I played more before getting married and have 2 wonderful children. I played a lot less raising them. They are both now in college or living the adult life. Each year i play more now since my wife and I are now empty nesters. We travel and enjoy heading out to the mountains or beach but when home we both work and play đ€
If the game is fun to play, then it doesnât matter when it releases. I judge each game for what it is when i play it not what the hype expects it to be.
Take Skull and Bones as an example. I was hoping i would get the same fun i had when playing Black Flag. I tried the demo and it wasnât so i donât play it.
So many potentially amazing games on the horizon I hope this is as well and i am excited but if it turns out to be something bad or just not the type of game i like to play than it isnât.
I would love to see a Transformer Adventure RPG game where you are a new bot that grows and interacts with existing transformers and teams up however the story is around your creation and what it means to the transformers universe. I love transformers and one toughest thing with these games is what robot do you play with. Something like Hogwarts where the lore is all around you and interact-able but a unique and focused story independent of the films and comics.
From the game play trailer it does appear that Dreadwolf is the primary focus at the beginning but then something happens and from the end of the trailer looks like to be a lot more the the wolf and Vielguard actually makes sense from the little that is currently known about the story.
So many great choices but for it has to be the one the surprised me and made me fist pump for the first time in a long whileâŠExpedition 33! Here is hoping it triggers interest for other turn based jrpgs. Penny Blood i will mention as they are looking for a publisher here is hoping the excitement over Expedition 33 helps them find one!
A lot of discussion about character creator. Fable never had one. First Fable there was no choice and then for 2 and 3 was either brother or sister to choose. The hero journey is what changes you depending on the choices. So not that important to me if you start as male or female or choice of either. There will be some story element/reason why you are who you play with connections to the world.
@Banjo- Interesting indeedâŠwhat appears to be the villain showing up at end of trailer may actually be the Heroâs sister from the first Fable? Ah manâŠnow the wait just became that much more difficult!
In the showcase trailer around the 52-58 second mark is my clearest indication this will indeed be a Fable game. With fans and non fans. âItâs like a fan club, but we hate youâ loved that bit. And also looked like they showed an empty Heroes guild. So all told just a small glimpse but starting to feel like Fable. đ„°
Fantastic list already! And like many others have said Expedition 33 was not only surprise of the show but now my most anticipated game release.
For those that love Turn based RPG. I supported kick stater campaign for Penny Blood (from the makes of Shadowhearts). Still in development but another potentially great RPG if you are interested. There is also a Wild Arms spiritual successor called Armed Fantasia coming as well!
When you look at excellent remakes like Shadow of colossus, Resident Evil, Demon Souls, and the phenomenal remaster that feels like a remake Metroid Prime. You got to do it right. I will gladly wait till 2026 as 2025 is already starting to get full for me. Expedition 33 just stole my heart!
So many excellent games, anything less will just be forgotten in the sands of time
@UndyingInsurgent95 I like this approach. Concentrate on my character but if need something from another companionâŠopen ability wheel pause action, decide and implement and continue with action. Similar to Inquisition and Greedfall. This I like đ
Looks great! Really looking forward to this. The combat looks fantastic will just need to see if there is any additional companion control? This is what I was hoping for. Another stacked year. Divorce papers in my future đ«Ł
@CutchuSlow Agree! Expedition 33 is the JRPG turn based game i have been wanting since PS2 360 era! I see elements of Lost Odyssey, Legend of Dragoon, Shadow Hearts, for offense mechanics and for defense i see Tsugunai Atonement a classic PS2 game! Besides Fable this is the game i am most looking forward to in 2025!
Original Xbox for me. I love games and another system to game is all it took. I have no brand loyalty i look for the games i want to play and that is it. I am a console player. My PC is for finances and surfingâŠmuch less surfing now that we have smart phones đ€
Games like Fable, Azurik, Buffy, Darkwatch, Blood Omen 2, lord of the Rings third age, knights of the old republic, and Sudeki helped round out that generation for me. 360 i got when Oblivion came out with collecters edition and the rest is history.
Where is the vote option for Continue playing? I hop on regularly in my current Universe. Looking forward to this update and the eventual land vehicles. Plan is to explore planets more fully with the vehicle in the meantime doing side content and building my funds the work on my ships!
Right now Xbox is the only console I trust to continue playing all the games I currently play in future consoles. I buy all my 3rd party games on xbox for this reason.
Very cool. However I still have the console currently on display. I do plug it in from time to time for games that are not backwards compatible. When it comes to legos or bricks i tend to get something unique I donât already own. If a price drop i may be tempted đ
Skies or Arcadia Panzer Dragoon Saga Phantasy Star IV Shining Force III (all 3 games) (not sure if this is Sega? Phantasy Star Online (all chapters and none of the crazy 100 different ways to spend money on cosmetics that is in the sequel)
I saw somewhere that a Ship Building career mod was added. Allows you to take on job requests to built specific spaceships for clients based on their needs. Then you could actually chance upon them in space. With such a big part that ship building is in the game i would love to see something like this added. Also, naming all the solar systems would be nice. You could turn them on and off like in the powers menu. Love the game but so much can be made better.
Extremely happy with the Starfield one! Looks great and feels great. Really good material and has a nice weight to it. Wrap and snap. Simple and now my Series X is taking center stage next to my tv!
Blood Omen 2. I still pop it in to my original Xbox to play it from time to time. Great extension to to Blood Omen series. Loved Soul Reaver on the dreamcast too. Wish they could bring all those games back. And put out a new one!
SoâŠit seems like Starfield has itâs hooks in me. The over arching story beyond the first play through really has me questioning the type of person i want to be in the universe and what these choices will mean in years to come. Besides that the exploration and building whether it is ship or outpost or just taking on side quests is like a comfort zone when i just want to relax and un stress after a long day or week. I have tried playing other games but after a few hours i keep coming back to Starfield. I am sure at some point i will pause my time in this elaborate universe that was created but have not hit that threshold yet. Is it perfectâŠno. The more i play the more i see areas of improvement or would be nice if there was more. But regardless for me personally i wanted a universe to dive into and i have that. Each person is looking for their own reasons to play or continually play a game and different for everyone. If asked the question if there was one game you could take with you to a deserted island right now this would be the one for me.
What we need is a suit/weapon set system that maybe can be stored in your ship. Depending what you are doing you can grab the appropriate set instead of trying to do a load out that is good for anything that can happen. Exploring can have its own sets, hunting pirates another and so one. Have like a suit locker on the ship with the different loadouts that can be saved and upgraded as you find or make better gear for each set. This would make the different biomes and danger a lot more fun to mange then trying to keep it all on your personal inventory and getting encumbered after picking up 1 pistol.
I am not sure if this has been stated but this feels like it might be intentional on Microsoft side. I will say that regardless of who you control i agree with others this feels like something is off about these trailers even the first one. The giant didnât feel evil but this âheroâ killed him and was very blasĂ© about it at the end not even finishing her sandwich. Almost feels like they are trying to be heroâs but not. Hard to explain.
