If this was 20 years ago there would be no question and I would have the time to play it. Definitely something right up my alley but I have no time atm 😓😭
I think the term Remaster is correct. In the case of games like Metroid Prime and Oblivion. It plays today as you imagined it did many years ago. The base games was not rebuilt however tweaks and graphics upgrade.
All the other games using the term remaster need to use something else like, Definitive edition, Facelift, Needmoremoney…
When i played Shadow of Colossus, Metroid Prime, and now Oblivion these are true remasters.
Games like Soul Reaver (which i love) was more facelift and would deem it the Definitive Edition or maybe call it the “2025 Edition”.
Sequel to Lost Odyssey would be the dream reveal. Other then that info on Fable would be nice and shadow drop of Oblivion every one is talking about i think would happen at this event not in April as per rumors
I went and paid the $9 to plat early as this passed weekend would when i would have time to play this game due work and personal plans i have the rest of this month. I am glad i did as i was able to finish the game on Sunday.
This is a beautiful game and great premise, characters and fantastic music!
I agree with reviewer that combat is the weakest link. If this was just an adventure puzzle game it would have been better as i never looked forward to the fighting areas. The boss fights were fun but the rest was not so much.
I cannot say enough of the music in this game. I usually turn down background music but in this game i turned down everything else so i could hear all the lyrics and music for each stage. Amazing!
@ChopperCampbell That song took it over the top for me. I wasn’t paying attention then it started registering what they were singing about and i just got pulled in.
Loving the music, helps with the feels of the story in the area. Love how beautiful the art is. The combat is good but almost like not looking forward to it. Not sure how to explain that. Reminiscent to games like Soul Reaver and 360 era tomb raider if I were to make some comparisons.
I am loving it and will probably finish it this weekend 😎
Soo many games. We can complain about the imperfections in the games out there and they all have them but there are so many. I am edging closer to my retirement years but i do not know if that will mean more time to game or get out there and travel.
I can’t play them all and makes it harder what to choose. Back logs are so hard to do when there is something new right around the corner.
I just finished Avowed. Really enjoyed that! And working on Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive on Switch. But i want to play Assassin’s Creed but cannot handle 2 massive games at same time. I want to play this but the game i am planning for next is Expedition 33. And there is Atomfall. Death stranding right around the corner.
We are saturated and i do not know what the answer is 🥺
@RiverGenie Loving the lightning gun. I am only in second zone and to reduce spoilers my current build is lighting gun and shield and dual yield a fire sword and ice axe. So much fun especially since the elements on the weapons help with puzzle solving. Ice axe and water make some some great platforms 🤓
@Prestige-worldwide At first thought the same thing, however once i realized the base gear can be broken down to base ingredients then the base ingredients can be crafted into higher grade then nothing is wasted and everything you find is useful. Makes the unique gear really special when you find it.
So far this is a 10 for me. A Fantasy game that looks great and plays great and so far a story and characters that have pulled me in. I am enjoying the combat so much which is usually the weakest of these types of games. A game made for my play style. Zelda, Elder Scrolls and Fable love child. Can’t stop playing or thinking about it when not playing. Great job Obsidian! So much fun in first person!
Though there are plenty of differing opinions one the actual game Starfield box art is at the top of my list. I will look through my collection and see what others stand out when i have some time.
@Weebleman so you're saying pay the 34.99 to play early, pay the monthly sub costs and, when you cancel, buy the game as well. And this saves you Money how?
For one thing gamepass is not just Indiana that you are paying for. All I am saying is it is a choice. However much money you want to spend on a game is the individuals choice. Don’t like the options don’t buy in. Just get the physical or digital and do not subscribe to gamepass then nothing has changed. Think you will enjoy the game and want to get the dlc then go for it. I have in the past and some were great and some I played for a few hours and that was it there went my $70, $60, &50.
If you have gamepass you do not have to get the dlc. Turn on the xbox on Dec 9th and play the like anyone else who has not bought the dlc.
This is just like any other promotion whether you get a poster at Gamestore or an extra mission for paying more…due to digital nature playing 3 days or 5 or 7 early is just another poster or extra mission but the few days earlier seems to be the latest that buyers are looking for nothing else.
Maybe i am getting old but this has been around before gamepass, before digital. Gamepass is still Day 1 alongside all physical or digital base game purchases. However if you want to pay for the DLC up front regardless if gamepass or base game purchase part of the bonus is to play 3 days early.
No harm no foul. If no one buys the Dlc pack then no one plays early.
Nothing new.
Think of it this way. Let’s say you buy the DLC while you have a gamepass sub. And one day you stop the sub most likely the base game will be a fraction of the price on release and you will save a few bucks. There is no forcing anyone to do anything currently it is still a choice.
I pay for Ultimate this should be entirely add free. You know what even if i didn’t put adds in the store and take it out of my dashboard. I struggle so hard watching the olympics with all the adds. I only watch what i want on physical or streaming with no adds.
A lot has changed in the last 5-7 years. I only pre order when i know i want to play it on release to get the pre-install so it is ready really. The last great pre order bonus for me was the Todd Mcfarlene poster for Assassins Creed 4. In. Frame on my wall. That was a great poster!
I played more before getting married and have 2 wonderful children. I played a lot less raising them. They are both now in college or living the adult life. Each year i play more now since my wife and I are now empty nesters. We travel and enjoy heading out to the mountains or beach but when home we both work and play 🤓
If the game is fun to play, then it doesn’t matter when it releases. I judge each game for what it is when i play it not what the hype expects it to be.
Take Skull and Bones as an example. I was hoping i would get the same fun i had when playing Black Flag. I tried the demo and it wasn’t so i don’t play it.
So many potentially amazing games on the horizon I hope this is as well and i am excited but if it turns out to be something bad or just not the type of game i like to play than it isn’t.
I would love to see a Transformer Adventure RPG game where you are a new bot that grows and interacts with existing transformers and teams up however the story is around your creation and what it means to the transformers universe. I love transformers and one toughest thing with these games is what robot do you play with. Something like Hogwarts where the lore is all around you and interact-able but a unique and focused story independent of the films and comics.
From the game play trailer it does appear that Dreadwolf is the primary focus at the beginning but then something happens and from the end of the trailer looks like to be a lot more the the wolf and Vielguard actually makes sense from the little that is currently known about the story.
So many great choices but for it has to be the one the surprised me and made me fist pump for the first time in a long while…Expedition 33! Here is hoping it triggers interest for other turn based jrpgs. Penny Blood i will mention as they are looking for a publisher here is hoping the excitement over Expedition 33 helps them find one!
A lot of discussion about character creator. Fable never had one. First Fable there was no choice and then for 2 and 3 was either brother or sister to choose. The hero journey is what changes you depending on the choices. So not that important to me if you start as male or female or choice of either. There will be some story element/reason why you are who you play with connections to the world.
I will say that regardless of who you control i agree with others this feels like something is off about these trailers even the first one. The giant didn’t feel evil but this “hero” killed him and was very blasé about it at the end not even finishing her sandwich. Almost feels like they are trying to be hero’s but not. Hard to explain. Anyway, loving all this discussion about the game!
@Banjo- Interesting indeed…what appears to be the villain showing up at end of trailer may actually be the Hero’s sister from the first Fable? Ah man…now the wait just became that much more difficult!
In the showcase trailer around the 52-58 second mark is my clearest indication this will indeed be a Fable game. With fans and non fans. “It’s like a fan club, but we hate you” loved that bit. And also looked like they showed an empty Heroes guild. So all told just a small glimpse but starting to feel like Fable. 🥰

This is the sequel to Fable that we never got when lion head folded. Not sure if any of the devs went on to help make this game?

Re: OG Oblivion Dev Not Sure Bethesda's 'Remaster' Title Actually Does It Justice
Here is my definition:
Remaster: start with original code and determine what to update: Metroid Prime, Oblivion
Remake: create new code: Final Fantasy 7
