Re: Talking Point: What Are Your First Impressions Of Crimson Desert On Xbox?

Aniscape

The way the main story tells you…ok here is your next objective in a straight forward way, works for this game. There are many things to do so I can choose to spend 5 hours hunting bandits, finding the shiny points do some gathering, sell stuff, buy and upgrade gear, then return to main quest without pressure. I am living in this world finding my place in it, petting dogs and carrying cats around, and there is always an activity to do. Not rushing and riding your horse through the countryside to next point of interest is great. I just started chapter 3 with about 15 hours in the game. And there are some views that are just breathtaking and have to stop to look around.

So funny story…doing a quest where you have to find out what happened to cows and some strange rock fell from the sky…i figured i would check out the house and found the rock. It is covered in electricity so i took it out of the house with the Axiom arm thing and placed it on the ground outside the house…so an npc goes near it and gets electrocuted to death and I was like…no…woah. Not sure what to do with it but was not expecting that…poor Stranger NPC 😭

@VisitingComet1
Regarding fishing what has worked for me so far is cast as close to the shore (Kliff) as possible, wait for fish to bite, hook and then just real it in by turning the right stick clockwise. I figure you need better fishing poles to cast it out farther is my guess. Hope it works for you!

And yes Fable 🤓❤️

Re: Talking Point: What Are Your First Impressions Of Crimson Desert On Xbox?

I am having a blast. I have been playing maybe 10 hours or so and still have not started the Greymane camp. Exploring and playing around the world trying to figure out what skills to grab…leaning towards an archery build

This is going to take time which is perfect as I wanted something to tied me over till Fable comes out and looks like i found it! And i figured out fishing!!

Re: Crimson Desert Comparison Shows Difference Between Xbox Series X And Series S

Aniscape

I am about 5 hours or so in on series x playing on performance mode. It is a bit blurry but after a while it is the norm. Hard to explain. Runs great looks great and the controls so far are interesting. I do like the fact that when you walk into a store items lying around instead of stealing if you press the wrong button it gives the option to buy 🤓

I am taking it super slow just walking around exploring getting used to everything. So much stuff to pick up and sell make some money. I did this one side quest had me deliver something a bit away from starting town and there was a plateau nearby and went to explore and found a couple interesting things. One of which led to a death but was my fault for not being careful. So far so great. I would highly recommend not rushing and let the world take you in!

Re: No Crimson Desert Xbox Reviews Until Launch, But Here's How The PC Version Is Faring

Aniscape

I am taking the leap. I just pre ordered and pre downloading as I type this. I was on the fence Ps5 base or Xbox series X and decided for Series X. My personal opinion is that Xbox has the better game preservation concept and feel will be growing as we move to next gen consoles. For me if I have a choice I have been and will continue to build my xbox library for games now and replay ability in the future. Of course this could all blow up in my face but that is the chance I am taking. Here is hoping the game is fun and runs well!

@Shinato2024
Understand, being able to assign multiple abilities and the essence to hotbar makes it a different experience then using just 1 ability at a time and having to go to menu to recharge. I have not touched starfield in almost a year and will be good to start a new game from scratch and experience anew with these updates and hope to stay in universe and not go to new game plus for a while. Unless you can put your ships in the transfer box 🤓

Re: Starfield Gets Major Free Update & New Expansion Next Month, Alongside PS5 Release

Aniscape

Looks like I will finally get to be a Mage in Space! Without having to go to new game plus! New character build for me incoming!!
From Bethesda website:
STARBORN ABILITIES & NEW GAME+
Upgrading Starborn Abilities: You can now rank up your unlocked Starborn abilities using Quantum Essence without starting New Game+ and finding additional temples! Become a Starborn superhero and max out your favorite abilities, then Favorite Quantum Essence from the Powers Menu to be able to quickly refill your power meter and string together devastating combos.

Re: Xbox Boss Questioned On Whether Exclusives Could Return In The Future

Aniscape

Here is the new plan:

There should ever be 1 console per generation. No one wants to feel like they have an inferior product.

  • Release the new Xbox fall of 2026 in time for the new games coming out end of year, Fable, GTA 6 and so on.
  • Microsoft should take a hardware cost hit in order to put the new XBox in as many hands as possible.
  • games don’t have to be exclusive but if you want the best experience and it is affordable people will buy the new xbox
  • reduce the price of current gen for those that want an even more affordable gaming experience and start getting xboxs out the door prior to new console release. This would start increasing the xbox community and generate excitement for new system.
  • gamepass should only have 1 tier. Ultimate for everyone at no more than $14.99 monthly subscription
  • all new games will still have a great experience in current gen as next gen revs up into 2027 and beyond
  • Sony is struggling putting out first party content, take advantage of this by continuing releasing good to great 1st party titles and make so 3rd party wants to put their games on xbox
  • make it so the average consumer can afford the new or existing xbox, increase gamepass subscription and new game sales, invest now to be the primary gaming experience.

What is that expression. It takes money to make money? And of the 3 sony, Nintendo and Microsoft who has the best chance of this plan succeeding? Micro$oft.

Re: Rumour: New Xbox Console Won't Release Until At Least Late 2027, Could Be Delayed Further

Aniscape

@Savex
I agree. The current generation of consoles (which I own all 3) still has plenty of life. Instead of having developers spend a ton of money the develop for even more power hardware let them make games for current gen and maybe everyone will start making some money. Current gen is still expensive, in the next few years let these consoles come down in price for more people to buy and buy the games for them. The next console generation should not come out till 2030 and focus on the games between now and then. If i will be paying closer to $1000 for next gen i want a giant leap where we do not have to choose performance to get 60+ fps. This should be default until then i just want to play great games and not have to worry about buying another console.

Re: Fable Could Finally Be Xbox's Big 'Game Of The Year' Contender, But There's One Problem

Aniscape

To be clear i was hoping Fable was going to be a shadow drop last week. The was originally planned to release in 2025. This is my current most anticipated game period. Unless the new Zelda gets announced 🤪

However, after watching the direct and the ambition the developers have for this game and that they showed no open world traversal and the npc’s did not animate great i honestly think we won’t see this till 2027. I hope i am wrong and the next time they show the game things are looking better it appears they still have a lot of optimization to do.

Booting Fable anniversary to get my feels 🥰

Re: Playground Games Explains Fable's Open World & How It Compares To The Forza Horizon Series

Aniscape

Everything does sound great. I am a little concerned we will actually get it this year. Some of the NPCs reactions and speaking looked off compared to the video from a year ago where the NPC talked about being in a Fan Club that hated the hero. I love the ambition but either will end up watered down or get another delay. If it is watered down then will be truly a Fable game based on first one hype to what it actually was…still great but not exactly what Peter M. promised pre release.

I am so excited for this game and just started replaying Hogwart’s Legacy! Since that is the closest to a Fable successor out there 🤓

Re: Talking Point: How Much Would You Be Willing To Spend On The Next Xbox Console?

Aniscape

The current xbox and PS5 could easily stay for another 3 years before needing an upgrade. I say keep making games for current gen and save the consumer money until hardware costs come down. I mean if the switch and switch 2 teach us anything is that as long as good games are coming out then that is all that matters. I would be happy to wait till 2030 for new consoles.

Re: OG Oblivion Dev Not Sure Bethesda's 'Remaster' Title Actually Does It Justice

Aniscape

I think the term Remaster is correct. In the case of games like Metroid Prime and Oblivion. It plays today as you imagined it did many years ago. The base games was not rebuilt however tweaks and graphics upgrade.

All the other games using the term remaster need to use something else like, Definitive edition, Facelift, Needmoremoney…

When i played Shadow of Colossus, Metroid Prime, and now Oblivion these are true remasters.

Games like Soul Reaver (which i love) was more facelift and would deem it the Definitive Edition or maybe call it the “2025 Edition”.

Re: Review: South Of Midnight (Xbox) - A Fantastic, Soulful Outing From Xbox Game Studios

Aniscape

I went and paid the $9 to plat early as this passed weekend would when i would have time to play this game due work and personal plans i have the rest of this month. I am glad i did as i was able to finish the game on Sunday.

This is a beautiful game and great premise, characters and fantastic music!

I agree with reviewer that combat is the weakest link. If this was just an adventure puzzle game it would have been better as i never looked forward to the fighting areas. The boss fights were fun but the rest was not so much.

I cannot say enough of the music in this game. I usually turn down background music but in this game i turned down everything else so i could hear all the lyrics and music for each stage. Amazing!

My 2 cents 🤓

Re: South Of Midnight Is Now Available To Preload On Xbox Game Pass

Aniscape

Soo many games. We can complain about the imperfections in the games out there and they all have them but there are so many. I am edging closer to my retirement years but i do not know if that will mean more time to game or get out there and travel.

I can’t play them all and makes it harder what to choose. Back logs are so hard to do when there is something new right around the corner.

I just finished Avowed. Really enjoyed that! And working on Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive on Switch. But i want to play Assassin’s Creed but cannot handle 2 massive games at same time. I want to play this but the game i am planning for next is Expedition 33. And there is Atomfall. Death stranding right around the corner.

We are saturated and i do not know what the answer is 🥺

Re: Poll: Xbox Fans, What Review Score Would You Give Avowed So Far?

Aniscape

@RiverGenie
Loving the lightning gun. I am only in second zone and to reduce spoilers my current build is lighting gun and shield and dual yield a fire sword and ice axe. So much fun especially since the elements on the weapons help with puzzle solving. Ice axe and water make some some great platforms 🤓

Re: Poll: Xbox Fans, What Review Score Would You Give Avowed So Far?

Aniscape

@Prestige-worldwide
At first thought the same thing, however once i realized the base gear can be broken down to base ingredients then the base ingredients can be crafted into higher grade then nothing is wasted and everything you find is useful. Makes the unique gear really special when you find it.

Re: Poll: Xbox Fans, What Review Score Would You Give Avowed So Far?

Aniscape

So far this is a 10 for me. A Fantasy game that looks great and plays great and so far a story and characters that have pulled me in. I am enjoying the combat so much which is usually the weakest of these types of games. A game made for my play style. Zelda, Elder Scrolls and Fable love child. Can’t stop playing or thinking about it when not playing. Great job Obsidian! So much fun in first person!
