Re: Fable Could Finally Be Xbox's Big 'Game Of The Year' Contender, But There's One Problem

Aniscape

To be clear i was hoping Fable was going to be a shadow drop last week. The was originally planned to release in 2025. This is my current most anticipated game period. Unless the new Zelda gets announced đŸ€Ș

However, after watching the direct and the ambition the developers have for this game and that they showed no open world traversal and the npc’s did not animate great i honestly think we won’t see this till 2027. I hope i am wrong and the next time they show the game things are looking better it appears they still have a lot of optimization to do.

Booting Fable anniversary to get my feels đŸ„°

Re: Playground Games Explains Fable's Open World & How It Compares To The Forza Horizon Series

Aniscape

Everything does sound great. I am a little concerned we will actually get it this year. Some of the NPCs reactions and speaking looked off compared to the video from a year ago where the NPC talked about being in a Fan Club that hated the hero. I love the ambition but either will end up watered down or get another delay. If it is watered down then will be truly a Fable game based on first one hype to what it actually was
still great but not exactly what Peter M. promised pre release.

I am so excited for this game and just started replaying Hogwart’s Legacy! Since that is the closest to a Fable successor out there đŸ€“

Re: Talking Point: How Much Would You Be Willing To Spend On The Next Xbox Console?

Aniscape

The current xbox and PS5 could easily stay for another 3 years before needing an upgrade. I say keep making games for current gen and save the consumer money until hardware costs come down. I mean if the switch and switch 2 teach us anything is that as long as good games are coming out then that is all that matters. I would be happy to wait till 2030 for new consoles.

Re: OG Oblivion Dev Not Sure Bethesda's 'Remaster' Title Actually Does It Justice

Aniscape

I think the term Remaster is correct. In the case of games like Metroid Prime and Oblivion. It plays today as you imagined it did many years ago. The base games was not rebuilt however tweaks and graphics upgrade.

All the other games using the term remaster need to use something else like, Definitive edition, Facelift, Needmoremoney

When i played Shadow of Colossus, Metroid Prime, and now Oblivion these are true remasters.

Games like Soul Reaver (which i love) was more facelift and would deem it the Definitive Edition or maybe call it the “2025 Edition”.

Re: Review: South Of Midnight (Xbox) - A Fantastic, Soulful Outing From Xbox Game Studios

Aniscape

I went and paid the $9 to plat early as this passed weekend would when i would have time to play this game due work and personal plans i have the rest of this month. I am glad i did as i was able to finish the game on Sunday.

This is a beautiful game and great premise, characters and fantastic music!

I agree with reviewer that combat is the weakest link. If this was just an adventure puzzle game it would have been better as i never looked forward to the fighting areas. The boss fights were fun but the rest was not so much.

I cannot say enough of the music in this game. I usually turn down background music but in this game i turned down everything else so i could hear all the lyrics and music for each stage. Amazing!

My 2 cents đŸ€“

Re: South Of Midnight Is Now Available To Preload On Xbox Game Pass

Soo many games. We can complain about the imperfections in the games out there and they all have them but there are so many. I am edging closer to my retirement years but i do not know if that will mean more time to game or get out there and travel.

I can’t play them all and makes it harder what to choose. Back logs are so hard to do when there is something new right around the corner.

I just finished Avowed. Really enjoyed that! And working on Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive on Switch. But i want to play Assassin’s Creed but cannot handle 2 massive games at same time. I want to play this but the game i am planning for next is Expedition 33. And there is Atomfall. Death stranding right around the corner.

We are saturated and i do not know what the answer is đŸ„ș

Re: Poll: Xbox Fans, What Review Score Would You Give Avowed So Far?

Aniscape

@RiverGenie
Loving the lightning gun. I am only in second zone and to reduce spoilers my current build is lighting gun and shield and dual yield a fire sword and ice axe. So much fun especially since the elements on the weapons help with puzzle solving. Ice axe and water make some some great platforms đŸ€“

Re: Poll: Xbox Fans, What Review Score Would You Give Avowed So Far?

@Prestige-worldwide
At first thought the same thing, however once i realized the base gear can be broken down to base ingredients then the base ingredients can be crafted into higher grade then nothing is wasted and everything you find is useful. Makes the unique gear really special when you find it.

Re: Poll: Xbox Fans, What Review Score Would You Give Avowed So Far?

Aniscape

So far this is a 10 for me. A Fantasy game that looks great and plays great and so far a story and characters that have pulled me in. I am enjoying the combat so much which is usually the weakest of these types of games. A game made for my play style. Zelda, Elder Scrolls and Fable love child. Can’t stop playing or thinking about it when not playing. Great job Obsidian! So much fun in first person!

Re: Indiana Jones And The Great Circle Is Playable Three Days Early With Xbox Game Pass Upgrade

Aniscape

@Weebleman so you're saying pay the 34.99 to play early, pay the monthly sub costs and, when you cancel, buy the game as well.
And this saves you Money how?

For one thing gamepass is not just Indiana that you are paying for. All I am saying is it is a choice. However much money you want to spend on a game is the individuals choice. Don’t like the options don’t buy in. Just get the physical or digital and do not subscribe to gamepass then nothing has changed. Think you will enjoy the game and want to get the dlc then go for it. I have in the past and some were great and some I played for a few hours and that was it there went my $70, $60, &50.

If you have gamepass you do not have to get the dlc. Turn on the xbox on Dec 9th and play the like anyone else who has not bought the dlc.

This is just like any other promotion whether you get a poster at Gamestore or an extra mission for paying more
due to digital nature playing 3 days or 5 or 7 early is just another poster or extra mission but the few days earlier seems to be the latest that buyers are looking for nothing else.

Re: Indiana Jones And The Great Circle Is Playable Three Days Early With Xbox Game Pass Upgrade

Aniscape

Maybe i am getting old but this has been around before gamepass, before digital. Gamepass is still Day 1 alongside all physical or digital base game purchases. However if you want to pay for the DLC up front regardless if gamepass or base game purchase part of the bonus is to play 3 days early.

No harm no foul. If no one buys the Dlc pack then no one plays early.

Nothing new.

Think of it this way. Let’s say you buy the DLC while you have a gamepass sub. And one day you stop the sub most likely the base game will be a fraction of the price on release and you will save a few bucks. There is no forcing anyone to do anything currently it is still a choice.

Re: Talking Point: Do You Ever Pre-Order Xbox Games Anymore?

Aniscape

A lot has changed in the last 5-7 years. I only pre order when i know i want to play it on release to get the pre-install so it is ready really. The last great pre order bonus for me was the Todd Mcfarlene poster for Assassins Creed 4. In. Frame on my wall. That was a great poster!

Re: Talking Point: Has Your Gaming Slowed Down As You've Got Older?

Aniscape

I played more before getting married and have 2 wonderful children. I played a lot less raising them. They are both now in college or living the adult life. Each year i play more now since my wife and I are now empty nesters. We travel and enjoy heading out to the mountains or beach but when home we both work and play đŸ€“

Re: Talking Point: Are You Still Interested In Beyond Good & Evil 2 From Ubisoft?

Aniscape

If the game is fun to play, then it doesn’t matter when it releases. I judge each game for what it is when i play it not what the hype expects it to be.

Take Skull and Bones as an example. I was hoping i would get the same fun i had when playing Black Flag. I tried the demo and it wasn’t so i don’t play it.

So many potentially amazing games on the horizon I hope this is as well and i am excited but if it turns out to be something bad or just not the type of game i like to play than it isn’t.

Re: Talking Point: 10 Years On From 'Rise Of The Dark Spark', Should Activision Bring Back Transformers?

Aniscape

I would love to see a Transformer Adventure RPG game where you are a new bot that grows and interacts with existing transformers and teams up however the story is around your creation and what it means to the transformers universe. I love transformers and one toughest thing with these games is what robot do you play with. Something like Hogwarts where the lore is all around you and interact-able but a unique and focused story independent of the films and comics.
