Re: Starfield Players Warn Of 'Major' Bug And How To Avoid / Fix It

Aniscape

I got my first ship on the surface of a planet. After killing the pirates i sat in the captain chair and it added to my roster (since on the surface it automatically made it my home ship). I then went to landing spot and went into frontier and sat in the chair. Went to menu and made Frontier my home shop again. Got a message that i have an unregistered ship. And next time i am in spaceport i can register if I want to make changes. So I went and flew Frontier to Jemison spaceport and was able to register then sell. Although registration was expensive and only made a couple thousand on the sale of the ship it appears you do not have to fly it to a port to sell it or register it. Hope this helps stay away from the bug 😊

Re: Starfield: All Traits, Best Traits And How To Remove Traits

Aniscape

So I picked Kids Stuff and Dream Home. I love Kids Stuff, don’t want to spoil anything but this is a lot more than just visiting your parents. Highly recommend!

Also for Dream Home the cost at least for me is $125,000.00 credits. However you have to pay this in full! If you want to use the home until you have enough credits to buy it you pay weekly installments of $500.00 interest only 😜

I am happy with both Traits!

I am living the space dream. What an amazing game! 🄰

Re: Original Xbox 'Plug-And-Play' Adapter Delivers HD Gaming This October

Aniscape

Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo and Sega need to follow what Atari just did. The 2600 with original look and function that can play the original cartridge/discs with all the modern day HD in place at a decent price point that way all the games I already own can work on it. Not only will it make physical media more desirable if developers want they can still make games for it. Saving gaming history by allowing modern day upgrade to the original console model. And for Atari both 2600 and 7800 cartridges work on the machine with only a small number that don’t. Anyway…my 2 cents

Re: Early Access Players, What Are Your First Impressions Of Starfield?

Aniscape

I just got that Bethesda feeling! So I just got to Jemison and decided to pick a spot and land before going to meet with Constellation. To see what exploration would be like. And wow! I step off the spaceship and start scanning. Find some places in the distance worth checking out, come across an abandoned mine and some life signs of what appears to abandoned surveyor tents. Fight some hostile wildlife. After about 30 minutes i sit back and really look at what is around me and i could literally spend hours in just this area of the planet. Just like in Fallout or Skyrim when you decide to go off the beaten path and think to myself this is just 1 planet and my wanderlust and thirst for adventure goes through the roof!

I had to stop and get back into orbit so i can get ready to go to New Atlantis and go see what Constellation is all about. However i can tell you I am hooked. I will be playing this for a long time and can’t wait to see where the story is going and what fantastic crazy adventures I find along the way. Just Wow!

Re: Early Access Players, What Are Your First Impressions Of Starfield?

Aniscape

Just got to first major city and started exploring a bit before heading to main quest objective. For those worried about the mini map have you been using your scanner? It helps me find things and areas around along with a cool lit path to next objective of active quest.

Bethesda games do not have minimaps so I wasn’t expecting one here but the scanner is a huge help!

Oops…forgot. Loving it so far but will not play more till Sunday. Helping daughter move into her first Apartment in Philly and we are driving up from North Carolina! I am already jonesing!

Re: Starfield Console Mod Support: Are Mods Coming To Xbox?

Aniscape

I always have a non modded gameplay file as my main file to play and continue playing with DLC. So for me modding is still a ways out for sure. With Skyrim and Fallout for (for console) there was a lot of great mods including gaming mods. I just hope with Starfield they expand on the storage. I believe 5 gigs was the cap on xbox.

Regarding paying for mods i never had too. They do offer that but as an option.

If they do the same for Starfield and expand the storage cap then should be great.

I always look for story content mods to add to the ever growing lore of the games and the mod community are always awesome and look forward to that!

Re: Roundup: Here's What The Critics Think Of Starfield So Far

Aniscape

All of this is what I expected. Reviews are opinions after all. So one person negative can be another’s positive. For example in the IGN review 1 of the lower marks was in the fast travel function. How you could be on a planet open the star map pick a city and the you are there after a small load screen. To me that is a positive thinking of how much time i will spend in this game. Being able complete a quest option on another planet and then fast travel to location of quest giver without having to get in your ship, fly into space, etc.

Not to say that the latter is bad. I will be doing that but after a while those quality of life functions help reduce some redundancy.

Just a few more hours to go! So excited!

Re: Starfield 'Children Of The Sky' Music Video Is Here, And It's Giving Us The Chills

Aniscape

Wow…chills indeed. Listening and watching the video. I really don’t understand where all this negativity is coming from? Combine this with the live action trailer and it really emphasizes what I personally feel like my experience in the game world will be. I for one am enjoying the ride to release tomorrow 8pm ET cannot come soon enough!

Great job Bethesda ā¤ļø

Re: Major Starfield Patch Arrives On Xbox Ahead Of This Week's Launch

Aniscape

@tallythwack I hear you. It would be great if we get all that and more but until the game comes out we won’t know.

This reminds me of when Fable came out on og xbox. I was hyped for all the promises pre launch and it ended up being a fraction of the promises. Was I disappointed, yes. But when i took away all the pre launch shenanigans and just started playing the game i ended up loving it for what it was not what it was supposed to be.

So who knows how much is out there. But if what is in there is fun and gives me an experience of being in space…then maybe the other stuff can be added in a sequel…in the year 2040 😜

Edited for spelling

Re: Major Starfield Patch Arrives On Xbox Ahead Of This Week's Launch

Aniscape

@tallythwack ā€œfair points ,but in my view planetary exploration is compromised doin it this wayā€¦ā€

This is what i love about these discussions. What is immersive for one may not be for another. For a developer to find the balance to ensure a great experience must be daunting to say the least especially for a game of this size and everyone’s personal expectations!

For me it is more immersive breaking to be able to just keep walking and explore an entire planet (granted until release we do not fully know and may just be player choice). Thinking about resources of food or spacesuit limitations even if there were vehicles the fuel and wear and tear on the vehicle and just landscape crossing issues. Again for me it makes more sense to explore an area go back to ship pick up more supplies, drop of resources collected. Then decide where to ho next.

If the planets are truly open i would still play this way as it makes sense to me for my personal immersion.

That being said it would be great to allow for both play styles but if not then it will be up to the individual to determine if this is a buy or a pass.

Re: Major Starfield Patch Arrives On Xbox Ahead Of This Week's Launch

Aniscape

@tallythwack i see your point.

However, here is how i look at it. Skyrim has 1 big map with points of interest like Whiterun and Riften and along the way you discover a cave or amazing mountain view or someone on the road that wants your sweetroll.

In Starfield the galaxy is the skyrim map and as you travel from solar system A to solar system B you find a derelict ship or a moon with a distress signal or someone on another ship wants to steal your sandwiches. You still get that experience it is galaxy wide instead of 1 land map. Do you really just want to keep going on the same planet and go oh look there is a mountain, and look a river, and an ocean and another mountain but there aren’t any living settlements or peoples trying to steal your sandwiches?

I think we need to think of this in a much wider field of view. No?

Re: Major Starfield Patch Arrives On Xbox Ahead Of This Week's Launch

Aniscape

Related to the fully explorable planets.

Personally i prefer the chunks. Think about it this way. Star Trek, Star Wars and possibly others you get to a planet find where you need to go and then land do your thing and then move on. Want to explore another area of the planet…go into space pick another and explore. I mean do you really want to spend days, if not more, exploring just 1 planet? I don’t.

Also… Thursday seems like will never arrive šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«

Re: Talking Point: Have You Ever Bought An Xbox For One Specific Game?

Aniscape

When the xbox 360 came out I was not financially in a place i am today. However when i saw Elder Scrolls Oblivion that was it. I traded in a bunch of games and bought the 360 along with Oblivion Collectors Edition and never looked back. I own all the systems since the Atari 2600 but Oblivion is what prompted me to buy the 360 sooner rather than later.

Re: Starfield Xbox Game Pass Release Times Confirmed By Bethesda

Aniscape

Have game pass Ultimate and bought the expansion and now i wait for August 31st! Missed the collectors edition and hope they re stock like Death Stranding did so I can get that beautiful case and watch to go with the controller, headphones, xbox wrap. I even found a great poster hanging on my game room wall. My Buck Rodgers dreams are about to come true!
