Report Uncovers Three More 'SEGA Classics' That Could Return For Xbox Series X|S

Back at The Game Awards in December (which feels like so long ago now!), one of the highlights of the show was SEGA revealing that five of its classic franchises were getting new games, including Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio.

As part of that trailer, it was mentioned that "more" titles were also in the works, and now thanks to a report from the ever-reliable Tom Henderson at Insider Gaming, we appear to know of another three that are getting the treatment.

According to the outlet's sources, these are Panzer Dragoon, Neon Genesis Evangelion and Sakura Taisen, all of which are in early development and were greenlit at the same time as the others - somewhere between 2020 and 2021.

If true, that means the full list (so far) now looks like this:

In all, it's believed that at least 10 SEGA classics have been greenlit at different times in recent years, but we still don't know of any others just yet. However, SEGA has recently trademarked the likes of Outrun, House of the Dead, Alex Kidd, Super Monkey Ball and many others, so perhaps there could be a connection there?

Anyway, it sounds very possible that we're getting new games from those three aforementioned '90s franchises at some point in the future, and fingers crossed they'll make their way to Xbox Series X|S as well. SEGA hasn't said anything officially about platforms for any of the games so far, but hopefully we'll see most (if not all) of them on Xbox - Neon Genesis Evangelion and Sakura Wars have never been available on an Xbox console before!
