@dskatter On Best Buy US website, the number of reviews of PS5 Astro Bot digital bundle around 40% higher than that of disc counterpart.

Comparing number of consumer reviews can be a good way to determine ratio IMO.

WAS going to be original Gears of War X360.

But save data has just disappeared twice recently (luckily I haven’t gotten too far). While can’t manage it too specifically on XSX and seemingly not at all in-game.

Guess will have to choose another title 🤷🏻‍♂️.

I play seemingly as much retro (including Xbox THREE, while that not a typo) as current X | S.

Really fantastic titles that I had never at least got too much into yesteryear.

Sometime in 2000 or 2001, my friend had told me that Microsoft was going to produce a gaming console.

Got mine a few weeks after launch, but only kept 10 or so days.

Was confused about hard drive (in addition to thinking had to buy memory unit like PS for game saves). No ‘must have’ exclusives, while PS2 kept me busy enough.

Got X360 at launch four years after and kept that. While got much more play time than my PS3 and Wii combined.

@stripmallp Myself as well. While contrary to Microsoft, Sony eventually made MLB 24 a free to keep game with PS Plus essential (lowest tier still needed for online multiplayer and cloud saves).

Was then able to let my GPU lapse a few months to save some $ (but will still sub 9—10 months per year for other titles including that of EA Play).

I have stock black Series X controller. Also white for spare that had gotten on sale.

Maybe if Series controllers had more emphasis on premium as was the case with that of X360…….

@ButterySmooth30FPS Did you purchase 2TB console direct from Microsoft? Both disc XSX variants seem to be out of stock at Best Buy, Target, Gamestop, etc.

Have ‘standard’ disc Series X and 512 gig WD card. (Also 2TB Seagate external HDD which never really use anymore.)

As of now about 10-15% storage available on each. While don’t really try to squeeze in any more (perhaps being paranoid, but read / heard here and there to leave some ‘breathing room’). While my home 400-500 megabit download speed permits me to delete then install quick enough.

@DonJorginho Many enough including myself will scoff at a stream only device. Like getting a Big Mac with no meat (I had actually received on an order recently).

Hybrid (like Switch) could be the mainstream going forward.

Maybe a little better. While I have been playing since the first edition in 1991 and still have to properly learn the advanced controls.

“Strike” series as well as clearly better sports titles were my favorites.

Now seemingly some random 12-year-old can develop a decent enough game at home with not too advanced (for today) computer hardware.

I answered X360, though debatable.

Got original Xbox not long after launch in 2001. Was quite intimidated by it (had not much room to fit alongside PS2 as well as VCR,, while was confused over how the hard drive worked).

Also no exclusive titles to my liking (ironically now playing Halo CE segment of MCC).

Sold it off to a friend after a week or two.

X360 ended up with first love. Toys R Us promo material and head start on PS3 had me sold.

I don’t have it ‘turned on’. My own fault if happen to skip a day.

I originally had Halo 1-3 that played on X360. Never played all that much (especially Halo 2) for various reasons.

Respective discs and X360 console long gone, but now getting to relive (and make more progress) thanks to Game Pass and Master Chief Collection.

Maybe a little unrelated. I haven’t used X360 console in more that 10 years, but did pay for Gauntlet and Paperboy retro ‘Arcade’ titles.

Not thrilled that can no longer access to download on XSX / respective marketplace.

(In comparison, Frogger that I had purchased yesteryear on X360 still available to redownload).

$200 for a game? Think will pass.

Only time I use ‘xcloud’ is to get some fast enough achievements for rewards points. Never for any games which I have true interest.

For whatever worth, my home internet speed is 80 megabits down and with usually 60ms latency.

Maybe hybrid is the new thing (despite Sony’s recent almost literally hollow attempt).

Some say next Nintendo hybrid could be near power of XSX / PS5.

While how much more powerful can fixed consoles get? Especially since so much can be done via cloud now (possibly even with games fully installed locally otherwise).

For whatever worth, I had looked back on commentary from 2016 on the just revealed Switch. Much criticism. That tide has sure turned.

Currently about 9000 points. Never let go above either 6500 / 13000 (the respective amounts needed for $5 / $10 U.S. Amazon gift cards).

I basically do not hoard, as Microsoft at a whim can take them away - forever - with a few clicks or taps. Beware.

A bit happy with what’s there now. Hopefully less games added will also mean less subtracted.

I am playing franchise season in MLB 22 on PS5 (current 23 version too glitchy IMO). My current record closer to 23-50 lol.

I had for less than 22 days lol. Never understood the whole hard drive thing (new to a console), while most games that interested me were on PS2 already.

I had a launch 360. One day stopped working. Can’t particularly remember if / how many red rings displayed, but thought the culprit was likely the 3rd party external fan (“Nyko Intercooler”) which was said to ‘steal’ power from the console. Pretty much had it confirmed when sent in for service.

So pretty much the same thing when I got my Series S in Dec 2020 (X was impossible to come by then), which included 3 months of GPU for $1.

When I first saw this ‘new’ configuration at same $299 US price, thought maybe all Series S models (now available in a choice of black or white) would feature a 1TB SSS.

Essentially a (perhaps permanent) ‘price cut’ for the upcoming holidays.

Retro Bowl is pretty good, though wish there was an option to play with horizontal view like vintage Tecmo Bowl.

I know not nearly as popular as American football, but hope this new indie sports game phenomenon makes its way to hockey (NHL licensed or not).

Looks like reviews not allowed (Xbox & PS) on Amazon US: Odd and maybe suspicious.

Playing Human Fall Flat as well as 7 Days to Die. Very underrated games that I would have likely ignored if weren’t for Microsoft Rewards and the effectively free accompanying Game Pass Ultimate.

@OcelotRevolver I got the 10-hour trial (played less than an hour so far since went live on Tuesday). So many things still so wrong with the series — I could go on forever.

Really wish there were other publishers like was the case in the 1990s. (I don’t believe EA has an exclusive license deal.)

Besides bits of Human Fall Flat and Unpacking (for daily 50 rewards points achievements), 7 Days to Die. A very underrated game IMO.

@ChromeMud That highest end offering would cost more than double the Series X (current highest tier console).

I can definitely see backfiring. Many more hardcore gamers either could not afford, or would simply refuse to pay so much out of principle….The former may hold out for a price drop (abandoning the mid-tier offering), while the latter may boycott the Xbox brand altogether.

A lot of people still out there with <4K TVs.

I personally know two who say 720p/1080p is “fine” and refuse to upgrade (TVs as well as from previous console generation).

Biggest question for me; would the new gyrometer controller be compatible (even via adaptor) with existing Series consoles?

Such hype for this game. So much that (even with my ‘permanent’ GPU sub), I just bought Max Payne 1, 2, and 3 all on sale.

Have a neverending backlog of games. Chronological first lol.

I have no interest in Starfield, while my Game Pass runs through next April. Maybe Microsoft should pay me $1 per month until then 😆.
