I'm really excited for Another Crab's Treasure and believe it's such a perfect fit for game pass. Unfortunately, this news may make it less likely that we get such quirky, off-the-wall experiences in future if they're made in Unity. It seems a real shame.
The game honestly blew me away. I think a little bit of clunkiness is basically par for the course when it comes to puzzle platformers, not sure what people were moaning about. Really recommend this game.
They've made the online so complicated. I just wanted to jump on and cruise around with some randoms and have some fun. I have to sign up to their weird thing to even play with strangers now? I don't really understand it.
It looks absolutely stunning, shame about some of the flaws mentioned as they seem like things that could've been ironed out. Regardless I think I'll give this a go.
Edit: having played it I would encourage everyone with even a passing interest in the genre to try it. It is absolutely fantastic. It stands as a true counter to the people who still insist that games aren't art, and it's really fun to play to boot. I personally think the flaws in the review have always been present in puzzle platformers and are less irritating here than they've ever been. It honestly blows my mind that planet of Lana, which I enjoyed and completed, got a higher score on this site; it is an inferior game in every respect.
I think this looks wonderful, don't understand the negativity at all. Not sure what people expected from Obsidian, but anyone that has played the outer worlds shouldn't be too surprised by the stylistic choices here. Absolutely can't wait to play it.
Outside of the hardcore mode, does anyone know the penalty for death is? I found there was absolutely no peril in diablo 3, as death was just followed by an instant respawn with some armour degradation or something trivial like that, which made it pretty boring for me.
@Fishticon I agree it's nothing ground breaking, but less than a 5 would be 'poor' or worse. It's a pleasant enough game, and arguably more than pleasant if you like the genre and some of the other puzzle platformers people here have already mentioned.
While reviews are subjective, to give this game less than 5/10 would be objectively and obviously stupid.
