@andrewsqual Well, based on my experience they don’t give a lot of 5/5 scores so that’s why it surprised me.

But it doesn’t matter, I can ignore them since it’s been getting at least an 8 on 90% of the reviews on Metacritic anyway. It’s been incredibly well received. And now that I’ve played it, I love it and that’s the opinion I care about the most.

Just want to also say that I was also worried about the first person view. But having played several hours last night, I’ve been converted. It works great and I honestly do think it gives you more of a feeling of “being” Indy and not just controlling a character on the screen. I’m glad it turned out well in that respect.

I think it’s fine to have a different opinion but at least some of us are just saying to look at other reviews too. This is the literally the lowest score on Metacritic. There is just one 60 (this 6/10), two 70s and FORTY reviews that are 80+.

Not unfair to say this is an outlier when 90% of reviewers are giving it 8+. Just don’t let one opinion change your mind about the game. Only true review for anyone is their own but if you need guidance, read more than one opinion.

Playing through the prologue of this is like a dream come true for an Indy fan. Absolutely loving it so far!

@MeanBeanEgg I mean there’s plenty of other GREAT reviews out there besides IGN. Eurogamer is probably my most trusted review site and they gave it a perfect score.

Wow. I was not expecting this at all. Previews were all pretty glowing. Hope this is an isolated opinion!

@Savage_Joe There’s a big difference between having a device that can stream games from a PS5 than an actual standalone handheld. I can play games from my console or stream others from GamePass already using my phone and a Backbone. So all Sony really has done is attach their fancy controller to a screen to do the same exact thing.

MS didn’t have to make something that people can already do on their own.

If it was just the early access I would wait, but I love Indy and know I’ll be getting the DLC expansion so might as well buy it now and get the EA as a side benefit.

CDKeys is kind of gray market isn’t it? Just was surprised to see them listed here like it’s any old retailer.

Fantastic month for me. Hard to choose between Stalker 2 and Nine Sols as my favorite. Stalker has been playing just fine on my Series X and it’s great so far.

Flight Simulator is also impressive after the rocky start it got off to.

GamePass rocks!

I actually had few issues on launch day playing on my Series X. That day one patch did wonders it seems and wish reviewers had been able to review it with that. I expect it would have gotten higher scores.

@MaccaMUFC I’m playing on performance and agree it’s not worth the sacrifice to play on quality.

It’s fantastic. Have encountered very few bugs, runs well and captures the feel of the old STALKER games while updating it with many quality of life items.

I’m in the camp with the good scores the game got (and there are MANY of them):

True Achievements 9

And many others. I only put those as examples so people don’t read one 4/10 review here and base your opinion on that alone. It’s still 79% positive on Steam as well!

Super excited for Nine Sols!

Played well for me too. Always enjoyed these games but the gigantic footprint they took in hard drive space meant I never kept it downloaded for long. I was impressed at how good it still looked and played with the new streaming tech. So now I can happily keep it for a quick flight hear and there without having to give up so much real estate.

@Altaria_97 It’s only like 3 months of exclusivity. But this team has been through so much and has work to do on this version so I’m betting it will be longer than 3 months before PS5 gets it.

@Altaria_97 Microsoft didn’t manage this studio. They’re independent so this isn’t a “tale of mismanagement” by MS.

@oopsiezz Or the reviewers reviewed the game before two major day one patches perhaps? I can only tell you what I’m experiencing with no rose tinted glasses. Maybe until you play the game your self you can stop judging others opinions.

Game has 80% positive on Steam as well and PC has those “problems” as well.
So all 80% of those folks are also playing an imaginary version in your own mind.

Heck the game has 77% on OpenCritic.’It wouldn’t be that high if it was completely broken.

Really shocked by this review. I’ve been playing it with really no issues other than some framerate drops here and there. Otherwise it runs great and have experienced very few bugs. Having an absolute blast with the game on my Series X. Easy 8/10 at this point.

Can’t wait for this one! MS might finally have a GoTY contender with it.

I’m guessing Stalker 2 (though not an MS game), Flight Simulator and Indiana Jones all missed the cut off period.

I’m really tempted to get this but already have it on PS5. Too many new games I want too. I need more money!

I absolutely loved those games and wish they were BC. Surely soundtracks made that impossible like a lot of other racers that aren’t BC.

Wonder how much longer it’ll be on GamePass. I really like the game but haven’t made the time to play it with so many other games out. Worried I’ll start playing it again and it’ll leave GP.

It’s a great game so probably will end up buying it anyway.

I’ll definitely pick this up when it drops in price or hits GamePass. Looks like it’s a blast.

(And, yeah, nothing at all like Silent Hill)

With Goat Simulator, that’s likely over $200 worth of DAY ONE games in one month. I would much rather have just those five new games than 20 crappy old games.

But don’t subscribe if it’s not valuable to you. For me, it’s an incredible month. Perhaps one of the best GamePass months ever.

Not a big fan of Goat Simulator myself but all the others are games I’m excited for.

Ooo..didn’t realize Nine Sols was also out in November. Yeah, even if nothing else was added to the list for GamePass in November, it’s absolutely killing it.

DA: Veilguard and BLOPS 6 on Series X. Silent Hill 2 on PS5 and Fear the Spotlight on Switch.

Isn’t it kind of a big spoiler to mention right in the headline that there are “supernatural surprises”. I wouldn’t have even thought that was a possibility but now I know. Not cool. Not cool at all.

I really loved the new movement system in the beta so first time I’m looking forward to COD multiplayer in years. Hope the campaign is good as well!

It was far and away my GoTY last year. Sound, visuals and level design were astounding. So many unforgettable moments in that game. And can’t wait for the expansion next week!

MechWarrior Clans is a blast so far and getting good reviews (80 on OpenCritic).

Awesome to get another great $50 game Day One release in the same month as COD and everything else.

Stalker 2, Nine Sols and Flight Simulator already make this an awesome month for me.

Been playing the demo and while I like it, it is VERY slow to get going. Probably get it but maybe not right away.

For some reason I thought I remember this being something that was also supposed to be on GamePass Day 1.

@Gamer83 It’s Sony’s IP being licensed to them so it may have been a condition of getting the license. Not necessarily Namco’s decision.

I suspect Sony may have had a condition when licensing the IP to Namco that this port wouldn’t go to Xbox.

Comments from other “insiders” on this same tweet point out that regardless of who is publishing it, it’s still Sony’s IP.

You know I read a bunch of other reviews and most didn’t really allude to this being just a kids game. But having played an hour on PS Plus Extra, yeah, it really does seem totally geared toward kids. Easy difficulty and puzzles like using words in sentences make it pretty clear who the target audience was.

I’ll play through it but it’s a bit disappointing in that I expected it to be more well rounded for everyone to play.

Funny how people keep bringing up Digital Foundry because they themselves also said they heard from reliable sources that there is an exclusivity deal in place with Sony.

Don’t forget we also get the Persona 3 Episode Aigis expansion for free on 9/10. The expansion pass is $35 otherwise. That’s really the equivalent of a new game on its own. And three of these five games are day one adds. Train Sim World 5 is a $50 game. There’s $140 in day one games/content just in the first half of the month. So I can’t complain.

Really looking forward to Age of Mythology!
