Xbox Set To Announce 'Beautiful' New Controller For Gears Of War: E-Day

It looks like we've got another limited edition Xbox controller on the way! Following the positive reception to the Forza Horizon 6 controller a few months ago, Gears of War: E-Day is set to receive the same treatment in the near future.

This is being shared by the very reliable Dealabs, which says that the controller is known as "Storm King" and will cost £84.99 / $89.99 when it releases. They estimate that it'll be announced within the next couple of weeks.

The outlet claims to have seen the design already, stating that "the level of detail of this controller really blew us away".

"It's been a really long time since we've seen such a beautiful controller at XBOX."

"The hull adopts a play of black and red cracked textures, like cracked volcanic rock. The left stick remains black and sober, while the entire center block (Db, XBOX buttons, Display, Menu, Share) is blood red, surrounded by the Crimson Omen, the emblematic logo of Gears of War which combines a cog and a skull in blood red as well. The right stick and the X button take up the same red, while the A, B and Y buttons remain black, creating a sharp contrast between the two halves of the controller."

We'll circle back around and let you know when this controller is officially announced by Microsoft and Xbox, and here's hoping we all think it's as beautiful as Deallabs says it is!

Don't forget that the Gears of War: E-Day Beta is also beginning today in early access for pre-order customers and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate / PC Game Pass members, as detailed in our big beta guide elsewhere on Pure Xbox:
