Re: 50+ Games Added To Xbox 'Stream Your Own Game' To Finish Off 2025

Shinato2024

It's great that they keep adding more games to the cloud, after all, that's the future. Unfortunately, it's not possible to bring them all because that requires agreements with the companies, but Microsoft's ultimate goal is to bring them all by gradually convincing the companies. Microsoft's "play anywhere" proposition is better for the future of gaming. For those still stuck in the 90s and 2000s model, I'm sorry, you're becoming outdated.

Re: Gears Of War: E-Day Is The Coalition's 'Most Ambitious Game Yet'

Shinato2024

I'm really looking forward to seeing this game, a game made in Unreal Engine 5 by masters of the engine. PIC could use this game to demonstrate that the problems with UE5 are the developers' fault.

And it's about time for a Gears game; the last one was Gears 5 in 2019 with a short DLC in 2020. Next year will mark 7 years without a new game in the franchise.

Re: Former Arkane Austin Director Was 'Shocked' That Xbox Closed The Studio After Redfall

Shinato2024

The reason for Arkane Austin's closure wasn't Redfall. The reason, as many may not know, was the departure of several developers during Redfall's development. Some left even before the Bethesda acquisition because they didn't want to work on Redfall, which was a Bethesda requirement. The original game was intended to be a "game as a service," but after the Microsoft acquisition, it became a single-player cooperative game. After Redfall's release, the remaining developers lost confidence after receiving so much criticism and even threats. It was then decided to close the studio and send some of the developers to other Bethesda studios.

Re: Poll: What Is Your Xbox Game Of The Year For 2025?

Shinato2024

@Fiendish-Beaver But I'm talking about personal taste, and I'm talking about yours. DF made a technical decision. You only take into account the art direction of a game, which is purely personal taste. DF does a technical analysis taking into account the graphics of a game, which includes aspects like lighting, shadows, textures, etc. In all of that, the top 3 is far superior to Ghost of Yotei, which, by the way, is quite close to the PS5 version of Ghost of Tsushima graphically.

Re: Poll: What Is Your Xbox Game Of The Year For 2025?

Shinato2024

@Fiendish-Beaver You only consider the art direction, but Digital Founder really considers the graphics for this award, such as shadows, lighting, textures, vegetation, object quality, etc. In all of that, Doom easily stands out, as do the other two in the top three. And art direction is purely a matter of personal taste.

Re: Poll: What Is Your Xbox Game Of The Year For 2025?

Shinato2024

@Fiendish-Beaver Graphically, Wolverine isn't impressive; it's far behind the games they won this year and last year. As for games with bugs, Sony games are usually buggy when they come out. The difference is the level of media exposure. Spider-Man 2 was released full of bugs that required many updates to fix, Ghost of Tsushima is still buggy today, Horizon Forbidden West was released with many bugs, The Last of Us Part II was another one that had many bugs when it came out, and there are several other examples. The difference, as I said, is the media exposure to these bugs when it's from their favorite company, because yes, the gaming media has a side built on affective childhood memories. They idolize the PlayStation brand.

Re: Gears Of War: E-Day Confirmed For 2026 In New Xbox Game Pass Ad

Shinato2024

We've never gone this long without a new Gears game; next year will mark six years. This is only possible because Microsoft now has a ton of studios, giving each studio time to develop their game. Until 2018, there were five studios; today there are more than 30 in development alone. Microsoft talks about more than 40 games between its own studios and partners. The downside is that franchises we love will have increasingly longer intervals between their releases. Another example is Forza Horizon, which next year will complete five years without a new game, when before it was every two years. Halo is another game that will complete five years without a new release next year. And now, in 2026, after years, we will again have Halo, Gears, and Forza in a single year, among other surprises, after all, the Xbox brand will be 25 years old in 2026. The Halo franchise will also be 25 years old, and Gears 20 years old.
