Starfield Is Reportedly Launching For PS5 On April 7th, With Pre-Orders Starting This Month

I hope it does well for just the devs sake. I actually have yet to play it, simply due to the fact I just dont do well with massive games that take 100+ of hours to finish anymore. I get bored around the 20-30 hour mark so I aim for games around there. Maybe now with all the updates it is in a better place?

Edit: I should add, no i cant just stick to the main storyline lol. My OCD wont let me. If I see a cave or random corner on the map, my FOMO kicks in and I have to check it out

3 Years later and im still completely enamoured with this game man. Glad a new group will get to experience it for the first time😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨

I’m deathly curious to see how much of the hate was real, and how much was grifting. I myself have repurchased several PS5 ports of former xbox exclusives for a few reasons, but I will not be buying this bug filled, glitch riddled, janky pile of outdated spaghetti code. Didn’t buy it on Xbox, won’t be buying it anywhere else. My standard of quality is simply too high to tolerate this level of broken, unpolished slop.

It still boggles my mind the degree to which Bethesda gets away with what they put out—if any other AAA publisher put out something this poorly optimized and feature-incomplete, it would light the internet on fire. Just imagine if one of Nintendo or Sony’s first party studio darlings shipped something in the state Starfield launched in. They’d be skewered to the wall. Yet Bethesda inexplicably gets away with it. I guess their target audience is more impressed by being able to stack grilled cheese sandwiches like dominos rather than a extremely polished, well crafted games.

It's a great game, but you have to be patient with its slow start and try not to focus 100% on the campaign. The game has too much content and can leave you lost. If you want to become really overpowered in the game, you'll have to play it 11 times. Don't worry, you can cut a good part of the campaign on subsequent playthroughs. The annoying part is having to go after each temple every time you play through it, and there are more than 20.

I’ve seen so much downbeat stuff about this game and I’m wondering if it’s worth a purchase?

@BethesdaBoyz It's really great. I still discover awesome side quests in it to this day. I hope the next expansion lets you kill the Neon boss and take his place.

@GamingGod Yes. The game is very good, but be aware that it has a very slow start.

Not my cup of tea at all. The endless loading and just Bethesda jank peaked for me on this one. I wanted to love it but the more I pushed, the more I hated it. Fair play to everyone it landed with though, part of me envies you for it.

@Balaam_ lol because 90% of what you wrote isn’t true. Game ran pretty smooth at launch. Sounds like Reddit slop honestly suprised you didn’t bring up loading screens too 😂. Everyone has an opinion and it’s not a game for everyone sure enough but some of the takes around Starfield have always been strange at best

@Shinato2024 cool. It’s a game I’ve been interested ever since we first heard about it but not being an Xbox owner or pc I never got the chance to try it. Maybe that time is coming then thanks for the input 🫡

…Game was remarkably stable at launch.

And let’s not pretend it being an Xbox exclusive didn’t colour at least some portion of the game’s internet villainy. So now between the patches and PlayStation, maybe this game will finally stop being vilified to the same degree. Or who knows maybe they’ll hate it regardless because, Bethesda.

But I’m hoping for the former because I don’t think this game deserved all of the hate.

@GamingGod Much more open and with much more content. You have to like the space theme. And not mind 2-second loading times to go through some doors.

I loved the game at launch and plan to get it again for my PS5 Pro.
