Re: Starfield Gets Major Free Update & New Expansion Next Month, Alongside PS5 Release

Sakai

@Fiendish-Beaver that was from a Q&A released with the announcements today.

I dont imagine a full team will be kept on it, that would make no sense.

But they are definitely still going try and keep support the game, which is good for those who enjoy the game.

I'm sure a small team left on Starfield won't negatively impact TES6 or Fallout 5, which is also good news!

Re: 'We Will See More Games Come To Xbox Quicker' - Microsoft Exec Talks Plans For The Future

Sakai

@RentedPanda One of the standout announcements for that idea was a new Unified Game Development Kit (GDK). This "devkit" basically bridges the gap between platforms, allowing developers to build a game for PC and automatically have a version ready for next-gen Xbox hardware. Also, the GDK is designed to maintain full compatibility with the current Xbox Series X|S, ensuring no player is left behind during this transition

Re: Tech Journalist Predicts A Price Of 'At Least $1,000' For Xbox Project Helix

Sakai

@Fiendish-Beaver if you watch the embedded video in the article, it has the rumoured specs for Helix and PS6 (pretty much confirmed) Helix seems fairly powerful to be honest, dont think you can describe it as entry level to be honest. Huge SoC, Huge GPU, lots of fast memory, Huge increase in AI capabilities, all the specs are there including die size, memory bus etc

Re: Tech Journalist Predicts A Price Of 'At Least $1,000' For Xbox Project Helix

Sakai

This is what i posted on Push earlier today regarding the next xbox:

If it can play xbox one/series x games natively, emulate Xbox and 360 and play PC games from Steam etc like the leaks suggested, I would be interested at $1200 as it seems a fairly reasonable price when compared to comparable PC.

I have a PC but it's very old for games now and all i really.play on it is Ultima Online, so the proposition is certainly enticing on initial reveal. Can upgrade my PC and my Xbox for 1 price instead of 2

But I am waiting on a proper reveal and breakdown before I make any decisions on next gen purchasing. Happy with my switch 2 at the moment with the ps5 and series x collecting dust atm

Re: 'Return To Our Roots' - Xbox CEO Reiterates Her Goals For The Future

Reading this thread and the other one about her, gamers just are not a very nice bunch are they at the moment.

The Xbox doom posters on here already have their pitchforks out from day 1 with wild conspiracy theories about her being AI and faking her own gamer score and various other things, I am not surprised after reading their daily doom posting every single day for the last 2 years. Its why so many of the regulars from earlier in the gen, no longer post here, which is a shame.

Give the poor lass a chance, just like anybody should be given a chance.

Re: New Report On PS6 Delay Throws Next-Gen Timing Into Doubt

Sakai

@Fiendish-Beaver Anytime mate! I don't think you need to worry about streaming games.

The PC Xbox thing is rumoured to be like £1000+ and the various rumours have it as more powerful than the PS6. Why would it be more powerful than a PS6 if it can only stream games and not play them natively, it makes no sense.

Obviously streaming will be supported, just like on xbox, pc, tv's and phones, but the PC XBox is not being designed as a streaming first platform

Re: New Report On PS6 Delay Throws Next-Gen Timing Into Doubt

Sakai

@Fiendish-Beaver the Rog Ally X is a handheld PC, you download PC games from stores like Steam, Microsoft, Epic etc. It does support streaming (as its a PC and all PC's do) but it is designed to play games natively on it. It is not like a PS Portal which is a streaming device that cannot play games natively

Re: New Report On PS6 Delay Throws Next-Gen Timing Into Doubt

Sakai

@somnambulance That would be correct IF the prices go back down, which there is absolutely no evidence they will. You could end up buying an outdated system from 2027, in 2030, for more than it would have cost to buy 2027. There will be even less consumers interested in buying it then.

Nintendo have historically sold out dated hardware whereas Sony and Microsoft have not, so its not a fair comparison at all. MS and Sony gamers expect more up to date hardware

Re: New Report On PS6 Delay Throws Next-Gen Timing Into Doubt

Sakai

@Daffy-Duck Play anywhere is between xbox console and PC as explained on xboxs own website

https://www.xbox.com/en-GB/games/xbox-play-anywhere

"When you own a digital game that supports Xbox Play Anywhere through the Xbox Store or the Windows Store, it’s yours to play on your Xbox console, Windows 10/11 PC and supported gaming handheld at no additional cost. To take advantage of Xbox Play Anywhere, you will need to have installed the Windows 10 Anniversary Edition update (or later) on your PC, as well as the latest update on your Xbox console. Log into your Xbox Live/Microsoft account and your game that supports Xbox Play Anywhere will be available to download. On your Xbox console, games will show as “Ready to Install” under “My Games and Apps.” On your Windows 10/11 PC, games will appear in “My Library”."

Re: New Report On PS6 Delay Throws Next-Gen Timing Into Doubt

Sakai

There is absolutely zero evidence to suggest RAM prices will go back down anytime soon, or even at all.

The APU will already be designed and they are very unlikely to redesign it at a cost of hundreds of millions of dollars. It will be the same APU if it releases in 2027, 2028, 2029 or 2030. All a delay will mean is it will be even more out of date even more than usual for a console.

Prices could even go up further if its delayed, I just don't get the idea of delay to be honest, it doesn't seem to fix anything at all, nobody can guarantee prices are on the way down, even in 2 years

Moore's law etc have even stated Sony will start production of the console soon ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LM1Fq8nAGPo&t=3399s ) so the idea delaying it will lead to a more powerful console is completely false. They will sit in a warehouse until release gathering dust. its just not a good idea at all

Re: Xbox Series X|S Ranked 5th In List Of Platforms Developers Are Most Interested In

Sakai

@Weebleman I mean its supposed to be pretty easy/simple to convert a game from windows to xbox (or so I have read) Thats why some games that are PC only, come to console on xbox first, because its quicker to port.

I do agree with your explanation somewhat, but it still seems low to me (just a personal opinion, it could have historically always been like that, i am not sure)

This is asking individual employees and not studios remember, some of the big studios have hundreds/thousands of employees, I am not sure all the small indie games actually are the full answer

Re: Bethesda's Fallout Resurgence Is In Full Swing As FO4 Hits Almost 100K Daily Players On Xbox

Sakai

@Fiendish-Beaver there was a report a few months ago that they get their sales estimates by counting the number of user reviews on a platform and multiplying them by their "in house algorithm" which is obviously just a big pile of rubbish.

No idea how they get the estimates for daily active user on xbox, but I guess they just close their eyes and point to some random numbers on a piece of paper, as none of the information is available or quoted by anyone else anywhere.

I'm sure they just make up numbers for publicity if I was honest.

Re: The UK Games Industry Had Its Biggest Year Since 2020 Last Year

Sakai

@themightyant "The key driver behind 2025's growth was an 8.8% increase in revenue from mobile titles, which brought in £1.88 billion for the period, building on a 5.5% rise between 2023 and 2024. Mobile revenue was behind 35.5% of the total for games last year."

That is what the article states

Re: Xbox Journalist Says Latest Rumours Are 'A Huge Challenge For The Brand Right Now'

Sakai

@MrStark well said. Its one of the reasons I basically stopped posting on here and pushsquare. The agenda driven bs posted on both sides is just too much and you cant actually have a useful conversation without the doom posters in every single article spreading baseless nonsense ad nauseum. Even when they are presented facts they go down the whole "I don't believe them" route to continue spreading their agenda. Its just boring.

Re: Xbox's Sea Of Thieves Becomes 'Best-Selling' Pre-Order On PlayStation 5

Sakai

@jFug I mean technically all 3 party terms are made up, but nobody thinks games like Ronin, Stellar Blade, Detroit or Heavy Rain are first party, because they were not developed by a first party, that much is obvious.

Just like nobody thinks Ori or STALKER 2 is a first party title, because it was developed by a 3rd party.

They are exclusives (or they were at one point) but that does not make them first party games.

Re: Xbox's Sea Of Thieves Becomes 'Best-Selling' Pre-Order On PlayStation 5

Sakai

@jFug

Stellar Blade, Rise of the Ronin, and Concord are all 1st party, AAA games coming this year to PS5.

All of those games are Sony-published which equals 1st party.

First party refers to developers that are owned by the company responsible for the console.

Rise of Ronin and Stellar Blade are not first party games, they are second party games. Second Party refers to individual companies taking exclusive contracts from platform holders

I am really looking forward to Ronin for what its worth and Team Ninja are arguably my favourite developer

Re: Xbox's Sea Of Thieves Becomes 'Best-Selling' Pre-Order On PlayStation 5

Sakai

@Sol4ris I could have guessed who the main commenters on this article would be before I even opened it. PureXbox is the home of concern trolling. The Alien guy is always here like clockwork, along with several others (we used to have the train guy, the shadow guy, the snakev5 guy and several others that are still here religiously)

It is exhausting to read as a multiplatform gamer who enjoys all the consoles and is one of the reasons why I have decided to use PureXbox less and less

Re: Dragon's Dogma 2 Launches With Uncapped 30FPS Performance On Xbox

Sakai

I prefer 60, but 30 is OK if it's consistent and properly frame paced. Consistency is king.

This no man's land framerate is horrible to play and look at and I will not reward the devs or publishers for making such a poor decision.

If people stopped buying games that release in a mess, maybe we could finally get games that release when they are ready from a content and technical perspective.

I loved the original Dragons Dogma and the Dark Arisen dlc, but until this is fixed, I will be voting with my wallet.

Hopefully Rise of the Ronin is better as I am really looking forward to that game later this month and will play that instead
