Re: Xbox's 'Approach' With Starfield Is Leading To More ActiBlizz Scrutiny

Rafie

@armondo36 Sony bought Naughty Dog years ago. They never even worked on an Xbox game before. That would be like a PS fan complaining about MS buying Playground games. Playground, to my knowledge, has never made a Playstation game.

Insomniac was pretty much a Sony studio. Marvel is the one that went to Sony and asked them to make a game. Why would Sony make a game for Xbox to have? I mean if Marvel went to Xbox with the same offer, I would not expect them to release the game on Playstation. Why would they?

I completely understand what you're conveying. Just not feeling the examples. Although you're technically right about the Insomniac scenario. The Spiderman example is wrong though.

Re: Phil Spencer: Xbox Went 'Well Beyond Typical Agreements' To Keep Call Of Duty On PlayStation

Rafie

@Danimal25 I hear what you're saying and it makes sense. However, I think Xbox is looking at a much broader spectrum. They want GamePass to exist for the foreseeable future. Timed deals is temporary. Xbox is thinking long term. I don't think the main idea was to purposely take games from Sony or anything like that. They're just bolstering their subscription service to be attractive to everyone. Trust me I'm not defending Xbox here. Just trying to shed some light here on their justifications.

So again, timed deals may not be beneficial to them in the long run. Securing IP and deals that benefit Xbox seems to be more key to their plans. Deals like making sure they get games like Street Fighter to come back to Xbox, and/or making sure Japanese games don't miss the Xbox platform.

Re: Phil Spencer: Xbox Went 'Well Beyond Typical Agreements' To Keep Call Of Duty On PlayStation

@SplooshDmg THIS POST RIGHT HERE NEEDS MORE LIKES!!! I get the typical "Sony is anti this and that" and they're the villain here. I know this an Xbox eccentric site. However, there are arguments for both companies. I believe this post I'm replying to really hit it. No bashing or blindly oblivious to what there own favorite platform does. Just stating the facts and how this came to be. Sony should definitely be worried. They're doing questionable things that should garner the negative press as of late. Xbox trying to fix the crap from the last generation is commendable as well. Sony just gotta step up and be competitive again, not comfortable.

Re: Xbox's 'Approach' With Starfield Is Leading To More ActiBlizz Scrutiny

Rafie

@TheGrimOne No it wouldn't have. It'll be a large vocal group, like the Sony ones, that would complain about it. Sony couldn't even outright purchase Crunchyroll without being subjected to an investigation. Can't imagine spending 70 billion and going through this. Business is business and MS shouldn't have to do anything.

Re: Reaction: More Gaming Acquisitions Doesn't Necessarily Mean More Exclusives

Rafie

@LightningLeader What exclusives did Xbox share with Playstation? Don't mention Minecraft as that was a deal done before MS acquired it. I'm not sure how the Minecraft spinoffs play into it. Outside of that, I don't know any Xbox exclusive they've shared with Sony post acquisitions.

Of course you know Sony ain't sharing. Not mad at either for not sharing even if COD becomes Xbox and PC exclusive. 70 billion is a whole lot of chicken for them not to have it exclusive.

Re: PlayStation Seems Worried About Xbox Owning Call Of Duty

Rafie

@rhyno_888 🤣🤣🤣🤣 You know what...I was about to call you the typical Xbox fanboy, but damn I appreciate your honesty about hating them. I had a good laugh this morning.

Btw, SF5 was co funded by them. Of course it was gonna be exclusive. Also Sony was approached by Marvel to make those Spidey and Wolvie games. Why would Sony make games to go on other platforms if they don't have to. Bad enough with The Show. Same thing if Playground, Coalition or any other Xbox developer making a special licensed game. I wouldn't expect those games on Playstation.

Re: Xbox's Phil Spencer Admits The Game He Wants To Play Next Is On PlayStation

Rafie

Damn some of you need to chill. He's a gamer at heart. All of them do this. Phil is just the only one that actually said something publicly about it when asked. Sakurai has a Xbox and Playstation in his living room. Kaz loved the 360 and Wii. Like I said, all of them play games on the rival's console. It doesn't mean that they've stop developing or caring for their own platform.

@Geezer No one should expect a public announcement that they play games on other consoles either. If you are genuinely a person that says great things about rivals, then it's truly in your nature. Can't expect someone to be the same as you are, even if it's kind of messed up. Btw Herman Hulst and Kaz has stated positive things about Xbox in the past. Phil is just a stand up dude who wants to see everyone thrive. He's a rarity among the corporate.

Re: 'Forspoken' PS5 Delay Means It Won't Come To Xbox Until 2025

Rafie

@UltimateOtaku91 I mean Cuphead didn't come to Playstation for a whole 3 years after Xbox. Not to mention others before it. They both do these deals. It really has slowed down more on Xbox if we're being real. However, Jim Ryan did warn that these deals were in place already. So no shock there.

Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge Is Now Available With Xbox Game Pass

Rafie

@Tasuki Definitely not what I meant. It's just how you took it. Still looking back at my comment, I can see why you took it that way. I should have added "to support them MORE" versus an unintended misinterpretation. Like I was implying that people who play it on GamePass don't support the dev. Most certainly not my intention. Glad we got that out the way. I'll be more mindful of my wording next time.

Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge Is Now Available With Xbox Game Pass

Rafie

@IronMan30 @Tasuki Okay gentlemen. I appreciate the insight. I'm not sure if you both fully understood that it's not a need for me to see sale numbers. Only that I'm curious to know how much it would do outside of GamePass. Especially for folks who has GamePass, but still want to support the devs even more by purchasing the game. Again...it's because this was one of the most sought after titles for 2022. I digress.

Again, I appreciate the responses.

Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge Is Now Available With Xbox Game Pass

Rafie

@IronMan30 Omg I don't know what's so hard about me saying that I want to see them flourish here. It's not virtually impossible for them to see sales. What are you talking about?!

So, I never said it was my problem to know their sales number. I'm simply just curious to know how much it will sell due to the high demand of this game.

I'm not sure if you thought I was being facetious or something. Again, I'm simply just excited about the game and it's possible future feats.

Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge Is Now Available With Xbox Game Pass

Rafie

@Tasuki Sir I'm aware that Xbox paid them a lot of money to get this game on Game Pass. So they (Dotemu) will see not how much the consumer paid, but just how many people are playing their game through Game Pass. I want them to see how many people purchased their game without the Game Pass data. That's the avenue I'm approaching with this. You understand where I'm coming from?
