Imagine limiting yourself to tiny handful of AAA games and then having the audacity to tell others they have bad taste. How do you even know what a good game is when you automatically reject 99% of games?

@Dezzy70 Indy games also have beautiful environments, the quality of the game, the perfection in movement and control and gameplay. In fact I would say indies frequently have the best gameplay and controls.

@BBB every video game should let you punt enemies straight to hell. I'm playing AC Odyssey right now and spartan kicking never ceases to be hilariously awesome.

For those of you across the pond, "virtue signaling" is a phrase used exclusively by the absolute worst Americans. It is used to escape responsibility by accusing good people of only acting good so other people think good of them rather than acting good because they are good people. Phil is not your friend. @Dusk_Actual I considered that but it's the devs and support staff walking out of their jobs and putting their names on the line so I feel the need to stand in solidarity.

I wish Activision blizzard would fire their awful CEO so I can buy Sekiro, Crash 4, and Tony Hawk. I waited all year to buy them on sale and now it feels unethical.

I just put an hour into Guacamelee 2 and it's great so far. I think I'll definitely sprint to finish it before it leaves.

@MyThoughts31 Cool you found an edge case. This doesn't change that it is true that MOST trophies are either collectathons or require you to do x thing x number of times and they have very little to do with the reasons people played and enjoyed the game in the first place. Developers have also been moving away from skills based trophies in an effort towards making trophies more inclusive.

How to get a platinum trophy -

1. Play game
2. Beat game
3. Continue playing game doing the boring stuff that wouldn't do without some added incentive

@themightyant I am not saying it is a mass conspiracy. You're replying to a straw man you constructed. I am saying that the dude who is friends with Sony execs and developers probably uses whatever influence they have to help their friends. It's not a conspiracy, it's just normal rich dude *****.

@themightyant Even if TGA does not directly pick nominees it doesn't mean they have zero power to influence who gets picked. They choose who votes, they chose the cutoff date that excluded one of the biggest releases of the year, they chose the order in which info is presented to voters, and they chose which info to highlight. They have a lot of ability to game the system. It's easy to influence a secret vote.

@armondo36 yes I know the trillion dollar company will be fine. They'll be fine if they never sell another Xbox. That doesn't mean that it is untrue that this could have turned people away from storage expansion by presenting an option so expensive that people learned to go without.

The exorbitant cost of this proprietary storage has just taught me that shuffling things in and out of my SSD is really not that bad so now I will never buy an expansion even when prices drop. I can't be alone. They played themselves.

If oculus came to Xbox I would buy it day one.

@Dezzy70 I don't think it makes sense to rebrand just to sell extra merch. The green looks great for marketing needs. But I do agree with you that it is an impediment to selling merch. Maybe they should just use olive green for merch as it is a much more flattering color for clothing.

Maybe it's the color green or something but Xbox has the ugliest merch. Definitely losing the console merch wars.

I highly recommend Hotshot Racing if anyone has nostalgia for early 2000s arcade racers. It's super fun and only 3-5 hours to beat.

@flawse I got my first PS recently to see what all the fuss is about. Sony published games are as good as advertised. If you can afford the three console life I do recommend it. That being said it is my least essential console. I prefer the Series X for game pass and quick resume and Switch because it has my favorite exclusives.

@JimBeam42 Mass effect was review bombed because it's an EA game. Most If not all EA games get review bombed. The localization thing was again just a justification for the absurd score.

For the Psychonauts 2 reviews click on the 0 reviews. It's easy to find people whose previous ratings are all 10 for Sony published games. Try a little harder and you'll find some that have 10s for Sony games and 0s for several Xbox games.

@JimBeam42 I'm super confused about why you got defensive. I did not say this was unique to PS fans. I said the localization issues are irrelevant because this is just fanboys hating and using localization as a justification for the low review. I also commented that I care because it portends to an inability or more likely unwillingness to respect other people's experiences which can be very harmful in other aspects of life.

@StylesT But they do have lives which they use to make life awful for everyone who doesn't think, talk, look, and act like them. In this case it's just harmless review bombing but it irks me because this same inability to think outside of their own experience and respect other people's interests and needs, leads to a lot of ***** regressive government policy.

@flawse Sony fanboys are review bombing the game because it is published by Microsoft and using the lack of localization as a justification for their review bombing. This is abundantly clear if you click on the review history of people doing the bombing. They always have a justification to stand in for the real reason which is always fanboy and/or toxic *****.

Some decent games but that presentation should have been 45 minutes tops. So much impossibly boring filler.

I've been waiting on this since first getting my Series X. I've never played it and wanted to wait for 60 fps.

@The_New_Butler I thought I was literally the only person who preferred the simplicity of the switch interface.

@Richard-92 This! 4K is very meh compared to 60 FPS and RT but developers keep on prioritizing it. I primarily want 60fps for smooth gameplay but I also think it does more for visual quality than 4k does.

@SplooshDmg I've seen so many posts about character builds and play styles that are all wildly different. I invested heavily in Evasion, Health, and Shotguns so I can play build that almost feels like melee action. I love rolling into point blank head shots.

I'm super excited to do one single flight in Flight Sim to gawk at the graphics and then never play again. I'm also super excited to annoy my wife into playing The Ascent once or twice.

I picked up the Bioshock Collection! I prefer playing third parties on Xbox but almost broke down and bought this on PS earlier this week because the Xbox version is never on sale. Glad I waited an extra couple of days. This is a big win for my left thumb tendons!

@BlueOcean Yup. There are so many Nintendo games like Luigi’s Mansion and Astral Chain that I would get on sale for $20-30 on any other console by now but it’s never happening on switch.

@Grumblevolcano Not at all. These are the exact same discounts these third party games receive on PS and Microsoft first party games get discounted way more than PS first party games.

I’ve been thinking about this game all day and can’t wait to get home and play more.

The traversal looks so stiff. Is it actually a platforming game That tests reflexes or is it more of a puzzle platformer? I wish these completely different gameplay styles were not lumped into a single genre.

@Flurbdurb I was not trying to say it is not enjoyable. I like mosou combat. I think it is really good at making you approach combat scenarios strategically. I’m just wondering why the mosou combat here receives near universal praise when it is usually listed as a negative in reviews.

I'm confused by all the praise this game's combat has received. It is mosou combat. There are no swarms but it has the exact same combat loop of spamming easy combos against basic enemies to build up powers to use against bigger enemies. I enjoy mosou combat but I am accustomed to seeing it shunned not celebrated. Is there something about killing swarms of cannon fodder, that specifically turns people off?

If you're attempting to get Outer Wilds in under the deadline I highly recommend looking up hints towards the end. I'm glad I did because the things you need to do to beat the game are incredibly obtuse. I don't know if I maybe missed some key text but I would have never figured it out. And it is still very hard to pull off even if you know what to do. It is like a final test for piloting the lander.

Bummer. I was going to buy this today had the reviews been good. Hopefully it comes to Game Pass.

@Grumblevolcano I do have a TV with 120hz and I still think boosting from 30 to 60 is way more exciting than 60 to 120. I cant even really tell a difference between 60 and 120.

@FraserG How are they not getting an automatic ban? Who cares about the fanboy *****. They both made vile xenophobic comments about people from developing countries. My favorite thing about this site is that it is very well moderated but I don't know if that is true if you cant take a hard stand against hateful language.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps is by far my favorite game ever

As an American it is very shocking to see my language censored by a website from the UK. I thought we were more prudish.

@Mamabear that is pretty much exactly how I felt about a lot of the game. Things like the hard to master double jump we’re frustrating until I realized it was intentional because In the game I’m working for a ***** company that gave me ***** equipment.

@Mamabear I beat it a couple days ago and never came across a map. There are visor upgrades to help with collectibles though I only played for the campaign so I'm not sure how good they are.

The games shown as a whole bested anything I have ever seen in a Nintendo Indie World presentation but I had to stop watching at some point and wait for the round ups because it was so boring to watch.
