@Fenbops OMG there is a woman in my game! Somebody call the woke police. The story of Gears 5 is way more compelling than 1-3 and Kait is an infinitely better character than Marcus.
This is easily my most anticipated unannounced game! I love playing through Gears with my wife. Xbox better not screw this up and fail to deliver split screen like they did with Halo.
@StylesT There was a study released yesterday showing that some people cannot see more than 35 fps. I linked to a report on it in a previous comment on this article.
@ZuneTattooGuy Not really. I watch 1-2 per year but that has nothing to do with frame rate because it is not an interactive medium where lower frames impacts game play. I just think movies are boring. The only movie I watched in the past year was extremely low frame rate Miles Morales.
This study released yesterday showed that human ability to perceive visual reality ranges from around 35 fps to above 60 fps. If you're critical of other people for needing 60 fps you're probably just critical of them for having better vision than you. Different people have different needs. I don't understand why this particular need continues to be controversial.
@smoreon I’ve seen similar data from several sources show that the average gamer is in their 30s. Most notably Nintendo has reported that the majority of switch users are between 23-35 to its investors on multiple occasions. It really seems like gaming is a millennial hobby.
@NEStalgia The data is a bit outdated by a few years so it stand to reason the average age has risen. I feel like a lot of people under 50 who grew up with the hobby are forever gamers.
@BacklogBrad The average age of console gamers was 33 several years ago so I think you're definitely right that big console games have older audiances than people think.
I was very surprised to learn how little interest I have in the AB library considering I have eclectic taste in games. I would love to have Sekiro but I doubt it’s coming. I’ll probably play a couple COD campaigns but I would not say I’m anticipating them.
I feel like GP is doing a great job of keeping the best titles active. I always try to play one of the games being removed to maximize my GP value but there has not been a game removed that I wanted to play in months.
@Weapon_Wheel I think they have to tear down the line completely. It’s the only route forward with publishers putting more effort into PlayStation optimization and increasingly skipping Xbox all together. Make Xbox a launcher on a pre built pc and work with publishers to optimize games for it similar to what steam does with the steam deck.
Day one purchase. I've been eyeballing the ROG Ally as a GP machine but decided to wait for the previewed annoucnement of new hardware later this year.
@RetroMan71 Sure, I’ve received rewards as well. I didn’t say you couldn’t. As a passive reward they’re great. The type of maxing out rewards that is being nerfed has never been a good deal.
Narritive and cozy games seem to have somewhat inflated scores. If you look through the top scoring games each year ineveitbly like 40% will be games from those genres.
I'm sure they're great games and obviously the people playing them love them but they do seem to be reviewed on different more kind scale than everything else.
I love anything I can play on the couch with my wife but I think we are going to have to admit to ourselves that we don't really like Baldur's Gate 3 before we can start this.
Series X is my preferred console but if AAA games are releasing at 30 fps on Series X and 60 fps on PS5 Pro then I will buy a pro and my Series X will be relegated to be a GP only machine.
That being said, I think I am a huge outlier here. I don't think this will hurt Microsoft but mainly because they're kind of already at rock bottom as far as console sales go.
@ShadowofTwilight Game Pass is on PC and PS Plus also has ample popular stealth options. Most people only buy a couple of AAA games each year so I think subscription services are a smart move for AA games especially for somewhat niche genres.
@ShadowofTwilight The implication of my comment is very clearly that I beleive people will not buy the game. Given that might just be me but when was the last time a b tier stealth game did well? Why would someone pay for this when genre highlights like Assassin's Creed, Dishonored, and Hitman are frequently on subscription services or deeply discounted?
I'm really surprised this didn't get more coverage. The combat and art direction looked great. I guess most souls fans just want to play Elden Ring over and over and over again rather than trying something new and interesting.
I only gave it a go because it’s on GP and I am loving it. It has a fun vibe to it both in the story and gameplay.
I am not a fan of first person melee but this is working for me so well that I’m now considering playing the Dying Light games and will give Avowed a go when it drops.
Lightyear Frontier didn't release already? I feel like I've been advertised this game coming to GP like literally a million times in the past year. I assumed it had already happened.
@Chaotic_Neutral Thank you, I decided to play this game and every time I pass by a mirror, or do something completely unrealistic like make an electral connection with a trail of water, I have a good chuckle at this comment.
@OldGamer999 How has development suffered? I know games that have performed poorly have tried to blame remote work but what evidence is there that they were not simply making excuses for a ***** game? Insomniac has been the most productive studio, releasing three huge well made hits since the start of the pandemic, and they are fully remote.
@OldGamer999 A business requires high productivity. Remote workers, freed from the distractions of an office, have been proven to be more productive. As for the security reason given, the two leaks GTA6 has already suffered, would not have been prevented by having staff in the office. There is nothing about an office environment that would prevent fishing or someone stealing your data off of youtube.
@GuyinPA75 Why is it time for employees go back to the office when remote work is better for both the employees and empirically proven to be more productive? I swear some people just want other people to be miserable for no reason at all.
@DoctorJohnDisco LOL what scam? It’s been proven that remote workers accomplish MORE than people working in an office setting. Whatever benefits there are from being in the office are more than offset by the increased difficulty to focus. Then when you factor in the cost renting office space it just becomes an insane decision to have staff in the office.
If you’re in the business of making video games and you cannot profit from making a Mandalorian game, the problem is not market conditions, the problem is you.
What a bunch of BS. The leaks rockstar recently experienced would not have been prevented by being in the office. They just found an excuse to pressure people back into the office so they can micromanage and exploit their staff leading up to launch.
Everyone should be using Deku Deals for their wishlist. It is just plain better than any of the console stores plus you can track games across all three consoles.
I'me loving this game. 4 hours in two days. I would give it a 9/10. That being said, I think it is a bit overrated. It's like people are just now learning that deckbuilders are fun. Within its genre I think Slay the Spire, Monster Train, and Inscryption are all much better games.
I would rather just purchase Ubisoft on an as needed basis. This past month I beat Prince of Persia, AC Mirage, and The Crew Motorfest for $18 and then cancelled. I’ll do it again for another single month after both SW Outlaws and AC Red release. I can’t imagine I would pay less by having it bundled with Game Pass.
It snowed in my neck of the woods last night so this weekend I am going to try this outside thing I keep hearing so much about. It is supposed to be very immersive.

This completely killed my excitement for the game. 30 fps feels and looks terrible.

Re: Talking Point: Has Ray Tracing Been A 'Complete Waste Of Time' For Xbox Series X|S?
I've played a couple games with RT and 60 fps and it looks cool but I'm never going to trade off higher frame rate for RT.
To my eyes 60 fps does more for visuals than either 4k or RT. 30 fps modes look so choppy.

Dumb decision. This was the perfect type of game for GP. I was excited to give it a go but there is 0 chance I'm paying for this game.
