Re: Roundup: Here's What The Critics Are Saying About Xbox's Hellblade 2

To me this looked like more of a tech demo than a full fledged game leading up to release and the reviews seem to concur with that sentiment. I enjoyed the simplistic gameplay in the first game and had hoped they would build on it but of course they opted to build on the technical side instead. I really hope we get to a point soon when developers stop prioritizing graphics over everything else.

@ZYDIO I’m playing an older game at 30fps right now. It’s not impossible to enjoy but it absolutely impacts gameplay and makes it appear choppy. It’s mostly just a disappointing decision to go for cutting edge 4k visuals, which no human can appreciate at normal viewing distances, rather than prioritizing performance which doesn’t just make games feel better. It makes them look better too.

This study released yesterday showed that human ability to perceive visual reality ranges from around 35 fps to above 60 fps. If you're critical of other people for needing 60 fps you're probably just critical of them for having better vision than you. Different people have different needs. I don't understand why this particular need continues to be controversial.

Re: Phil Spencer Would Like To See Other Digital Storefronts Appear On Xbox

@Weapon_Wheel I think they have to tear down the line completely. It’s the only route forward with publishers putting more effort into PlayStation optimization and increasingly skipping Xbox all together. Make Xbox a launcher on a pre built pc and work with publishers to optimize games for it similar to what steam does with the steam deck.

Re: Xbox Appears Twice In Metacritic's List Of Top 40 Game Publishers

Narritive and cozy games seem to have somewhat inflated scores. If you look through the top scoring games each year ineveitbly like 40% will be games from those genres.

I'm sure they're great games and obviously the people playing them love them but they do seem to be reviewed on different more kind scale than everything else.

Re: With A 'PS5 Pro' Now Rumoured For 2024, Where Does That Leave Xbox?

RBRTMNZ

Series X is my preferred console but if AAA games are releasing at 30 fps on Series X and 60 fps on PS5 Pro then I will buy a pro and my Series X will be relegated to be a GP only machine.

That being said, I think I am a huge outlier here. I don't think this will hurt Microsoft but mainly because they're kind of already at rock bottom as far as console sales go.

Re: Xbox Game Pass Suffers Rare 'Cancellation' Due To Change Of Publisher

@ShadowofTwilight The implication of my comment is very clearly that I beleive people will not buy the game. Given that might just be me but when was the last time a b tier stealth game did well? Why would someone pay for this when genre highlights like Assassin's Creed, Dishonored, and Hitman are frequently on subscription services or deeply discounted?
