GTA 6 Will 'Set Creative Benchmarks' For The Industry, Says Take-Two CEO

Details surrounding GTA 6 and its development are finally starting to be talked about by Rockstar and Take-Two. We know the studio is busy with development following the winding down of Red Dead Online, and now, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has come out with a pretty bold statement regarding the Grand Theft Auto 5 sequel.

In a new earnings report posted by the publisher, Zelnick has been hyping up how GTA 6 could potentially turn out. Zelnick's statement goes beyond industry comparisons as well (thanks, PC Gamer):

"With development of the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series well underway, the Rockstar Games team is determined to once again set creative benchmarks for the series, our industry, and for all entertainment, just as the label has done with every one of their frontline releases..."

That's one hell of an expectation to put on a studio that appears to be going through a transitional phase, following some key departures. Still, we have no doubt GTA 6 will be massive, but whether it can live up to this level of hype remains to be seen.

Last month, a report surfaced that brought to light the first real details of GTA 6, at least before an official reveal from Take-Two. According to Bloomberg, the next entry will be set in Miami, featuring a female protagonist, and could be with us as soon as 2024. We'll believe all that when we see it!
