Id played most via ps sub, so it wasn’t great for me and I don’t play Fortnite so it all factored into me dropping to premium

Ridiculous increase by Sony. They sell enough to absorb at least part of that - especially as they were reported to be making a profit on each console a while back.

But honestly I expected helix to be £999 now I’m thinking it may be £1200.

Gaming is fast becoming unaffordable for many.

@Weebleman I’ve said this myself for a long time. It’s obvious Sony wouldn’t let a full GP on with 3rd party, because that would reduce sales, but GP for 1st party makes sense. For both companies really.

The problem it always had outside the obvious is that streaming just isn’t there yet and won’t be for many for a long time. So XYZ might be an Xbox, but it won’t actually play anything like an Xbox.

Some strong games were released and more notable for me was majority shipped in a strong state say 1, where often they would lack a little QA and final polish. Seems this is being rectified.

All they needed to do 6 months or so ago was increase GPU to £18 with no extras.

It would have been received much better.

So USA only? And for a small handful of people? But everyone raving.

But screw everyone else who isn’t offered this deal right! Everyone should have access to the same deal.

Oblivion was really good. 20 years has gone fast! (And only one other proper elder scrolls in 20years is also sad)

It’s a shame the remastered version was poor. Deserved better.

Alot of people slating it. It’s weird how gamers latch onto a game and openly wish for it to fail.

It’s coming in around 80, it’s decently priced at £50 or so. And doesn’t actually seem to be a huge mess. Just sounds like it needs a few updates.

So how does that work on the tax scale?

If people actually checked the releases you would see that some score higher on Xbox, some score less and some even score the same.

That in itself shows there’s no bias. But I can happily cherry pick games where it scored higher on Xbox if you prefer?

Gonna keep saying it, but premium is the better option currently.

I think most people expect MS to continue in the software side. That’s never been questioned really.

Sky sports and tv is £35 (Netflix included) If you upgrade to sky ultimate for a couple of quid they throw in Disney+ and the new hbo one.

I pay £40 or so and get sky ultimate, sports Netflix, Disney, hbo and some other streaming service that’s coming.

I’ve said it before this year, but currently premium is the better tier so far.

Will this change once stuff like Forza drops? And bigger day 1 games drop? Most probably.

@Millionski steamdeck was at 6million sales last year. With estimates that it’s around 8million now. Due to ram issues it’s out of stock.

By all accounts the Rog sold well first month then basically stopped since.

@BacklogBrad those PC players already have access to all those games.

Unless there’s some massive incentive to switch, why would they?

It’s going to be niche. No ifs no buts.

The price takes casuals and families out of the market.

PC gamers most likely have a better set up (or in 18months time they will do when this releases)

Who is it actually going to be marketed at? Series consoles don’t sell at £3-600.

If you have a PC you already have access to everything, series owners? They can just keep those and stream. How much is GP going to be by then.

Now I’m not saying the console will be bad or anything, I think it will be very good. Just don’t understand the market in a time when everyone is squeezed for money and mad Ram prices (obviously Sony has these issues too)

@UnlimitedSevens problem is there a $1500 pcbox isn’t going to be a patch on many PC’s out there. GPU are this price.

Currently around half the Xbox install base (it’s somewhere around 40-50% iirc) owns the series S. That was what £250 on release? Since price rises console sales have tanked.

So what market is the new box for? Because it’s certainly not looking like a big market right now.

But let’s see what they come up with

My only criticism of the first one is that it was probably 4-6hours too long. End area dragged a little at times.

Good news. Be interesting to see what level of pc it stacks up to.

But the big thing is obviously the price. - obviously they have come out and said it will be a premium console, so that’s usually meaning a higher price point.

Hope it keeps casuals interested.

Honestly this year it’s all about premium so far. It’s had the good releases.

They have to sell on ps5/S2.

It’s the only way to get sales and try to get to those margins MS want.

It’s where we are at now. They’ve seen the numbers that make it worthwhile (otherwise it wouldn’t keep happening)

Most going forward will be day 1. It’s currently just haphazard as it’s been brought in mid development for many games (Forza for instance)

It sold poor and then you are talking 2%-5% uptake on GP.

But as it’s reported to be a PC, it’s not going to sell. Ram prices are going to cripple it (as it is doing with Steam currently and no doubt Sony eventually)

Casuals won’t spend it, PC players have a better system. So I really would imagine that there will be more push for the cloud to stream to tvs etc
