Fantastic game, but it’s not reinventing the wheel or doing anything amazing for me. Certainly deserving of its 90+ rating - but I wish it had taken some more risks.
For me so far this year it’s Crimson Desert. There’s just so much in there. Even with its flaws.
Is it the right move for them? Possibly, the ports just haven’t sold on PC. So what are they losing? Very little. They either had to try day 1 release or stop them.
They are still releasing live service ***** on there too no? And luckily as everyone constantly states on here they don’t like the Sony single player games anyway.
It’s funny that many find this stance bad. When the number 1 change Xbox players want is exclusives back.
But Sony have an advantage that their exclusives are targeting 90million players whereas Xbox targets 40million or so. Hence why one wants full exclusives and why one will release on PC and elsewhere.
I think they will have the same price issue. It’s just the world at the moment, MS aren’t immune to the cost of RAM etc etc. if you think otherwise then you aren’t being truthful.
Pushing it out too early and at an expensive price isn’t going to help - especially as they’ve previously announced it’s going to be ‘premium’. It’s extremely tricky situation to be in.
@BacklogBrad starfield was being hyped up as game of the decade. Skyrim in space. So people bought it in expectation and knowing to a degree what they would get from a Bethesda game.
Pragmata is totally different to anything capcom has out there. With a mechanic in the fights that may well have put plenty off.
Original was full of bugs. Remaster was released in an absolute state. It only got good reviews because it was a ‘shadow drop’.
But it’s Bethesda. Issues with Starfield at launch that still persist on the ps5 launch 2-3years later.
I’ve always said in the past the issues that stopped MS getting top quality scores on 1st party games was the QA and polishing (remember Phil saying they had redfall scoring double digits higher in all metrics) but recently they have got these high scores like Indiana jones because the games release well.
It’s time now for MS to get Bethesda under some sort of quality control as it’s been in their stable long enough now
Simply put if sales of 35mil consoles still meant you had to release on ps5 - then a high end Helix console is going to sell far less (that’s just the reality) the games will need to be multiplatform to justify the production costs.
@Questionable_Duck but the games aren’t selling in huge numbers in general, some are, some not.
Call it £10 a month, Sony would probably get £2-3 of that anyway. Theres enough games in the Xbox portfolio to make it work. Just don’t include new CoD releases.
Isn’t this company notoriously unreliable? And has been proven so in the past?
That aside, it’s years old at this point, it’s beset with problems on PS to the point Sony have refunded people (and we all know they hate doing that!)
Since the price increase (unless you had it stacked) Premium appears to be the best value so far. Obviously this will change a little once the ‘big’ first party games start dropping.
Ridiculous increase by Sony. They sell enough to absorb at least part of that - especially as they were reported to be making a profit on each console a while back.
But honestly I expected helix to be £999 now I’m thinking it may be £1200.
@Weebleman I’ve said this myself for a long time. It’s obvious Sony wouldn’t let a full GP on with 3rd party, because that would reduce sales, but GP for 1st party makes sense. For both companies really.
The problem it always had outside the obvious is that streaming just isn’t there yet and won’t be for many for a long time. So XYZ might be an Xbox, but it won’t actually play anything like an Xbox.
Some strong games were released and more notable for me was majority shipped in a strong state say 1, where often they would lack a little QA and final polish. Seems this is being rectified.
@Banjo- you have literally tagged and copied my post in this thread. When I never once mentioned your name. Nor your comments. With your thinly veiled insults. But that’s fine that you believe otherwise and haven’t done that.
@FuzzieGinge88 had the focused on advertising their series consoles, not raising the prices to the extent they did, had consoles available in stores and countries -they highly likely wouldn’t have needed a ‘this is an Xbox campaign’
@Fiendish-Beaver I live in an apartment so unfortunately I have little control over that. But I still pay nowhere near what you are. That’s just ridiculous money.
Call them up and get on the cancellation team. You will get that down to close to £100

Re: Steam Deck Has Gone Up In Price Massively, And It Makes ROG Xbox Ally Look Great Value In 2026
Xbox went up, ps5 went up, Nintendo went up, steamdeck went up - only a matter of time till the others follow.
Re: Forza Horizon 6 Seemingly Sold Almost 5 Million Copies Before Its Opening Weekend
So now we are trusting Alinea? Who make numbers up based on number of reviews?
Re: Poll: So, Is Forza Horizon 6 Your Favourite Game Of 2026 So Far?
Fantastic game, but it’s not reinventing the wheel or doing anything amazing for me. Certainly deserving of its 90+ rating - but I wish it had taken some more risks.

Re: Digital Foundry Labels Sony's PS5 Exclusivity Pivot As A 'Defensive Move Against Project Helix'
@Sol4ris yes it was a little tongue in cheek. But it is often something that is said (like you say as it is in PS then they buy them
Anyway!)
But you can see the irony here that people are having a little dig at Sony for doing it when the recent poll has shown that Xbox gamers want MS to do.
Personally I’m in a lucky position where I have access to all - even a steamdeck now too - so exclusivity doesn’t massively impact me.
Re: Digital Foundry Labels Sony's PS5 Exclusivity Pivot As A 'Defensive Move Against Project Helix'

Re: Review: Forza Horizon 6 (Xbox) - Playground Delivers Another Exceptional Open-World Racer
Completely expected score. FH always turns out good
Looking forward to diving in and playing.
Re: Talking Point: Amidst PS6 Uncertainty, Do You Think Xbox Has Project Helix All Figured Out?
I think they will have the same price issue. It’s just the world at the moment, MS aren’t immune to the cost of RAM etc etc. if you think otherwise then you aren’t being truthful.

Re: Xbox Appears To Be Experimenting With New Labels For Physical Games
Call me stupid. But what’s the point?
I dont see the logic of putting this on the case (and making them look worse).

Re: More Than 50% Of Hardcore Gamers Don't Buy Full-Priced Games Anymore, Survey Finds
What’s the point? Day 1 is no longer the best way to play.
6 months later you have all the patches, more content added and it’s generally cheaper.
It’s the same with GP/Plus. Why buy a game for 70 that’s buggy but 6-12months later it’s on one of the sub services?
For your 70 you can potentially get 2 or 3 solid games in a sale (or more depending how long you wait)
Re: Xbox To Retire Features That Don't Align With Future Plans, Starting With Copilot AI
Obviously I say this a little tongue in cheek… but isn’t helix more a pc and not a console…

Re: Asha Sharma Comments On AI Use As Upscaling Tech Rolls Out To ROG Xbox Ally
@AI-Generation because there’s little benefit for devs (outside of first party) to push that 15% for the X. Which will have sold 20m at best.
Re: Forza Horizon 6 Download Sizes Revealed On Xbox & PC, And They're Huge
@dskatter im going to do similar.
Upgrade from premium to ultimate for a month and play it on the S.
Assuming I enjoy it im then going to
Double dip on ps5 (not because I don’t want it on Xbox but I think it will look/run better on pa5 than the S)
Re: Talking Point: With Forza Horizon 6 Imminent, What Are Your Predictions For Its Final Review Score?
I think 89-91.
Even if it got 93+ I don’t believe it would win GoTY. Driving games just tend not to.
Re: Xbox First-Party Title 'Kiln' Is Available Today With Game Pass Ultimate (April 23)
It’s not for me, but hopefully it has success amongst those who want to play.
Re: Xbox Announces Price Reductions For Game Pass Ultimate & PC Game Pass
It was obviously back tracked due to the drop off from the price rise (honestly premium became really good value) and the fact CoD sales tanked.
But it’s good news non the less.
Re: You're The Xbox Boss And Need To Figure Out Exclusivity, What Decision Are You Making?
It’s staying multiplatform. It’s not changing.
Simply put if sales of 35mil consoles still meant you had to release on ps5 - then a high end Helix console is going to sell far less (that’s just the reality) the games will need to be multiplatform to justify the production costs.
Re: Talking Point: What's A 'Good Deal' For An Xbox Series X or S In 2026?
Seies S £180. (Call it £230 with the bigger storage) I paid £180 on Amazon a few years ago and was worth the price.
I think £400 for the X would be a good price.
But this means nothing unless MS make them readily available everywhere.

Re: Report: New Game Pass Tier Exclusive To First-Party Games 'Under Consideration' At Xbox
Lololol I’ve been talking about this for years.
They will be able to release it on PS and potentially Nintendo too.

Re: Xbox Raises Eyebrows By Mentioning 'Exclusives' On The Series X|S Dashboard
@themightyant yeah I see it as exactly this. Everyone will get carried away about it meaning other things when it doesn’t.
Re: Xbox Boss Declares Game Pass Is 'Too Expensive' And Needs A 'Better Value Equation'
Since the price increase (unless you had it stacked) Premium appears to be the best value so far. Obviously this will change a little once the ‘big’ first party games start dropping.
Re: Rumour: Fable Has Apparently Been Delayed Internally, But May Still Launch In 2026
I hope it still releases this year, but if it doesn’t I hope they use their time wisely to iron out any issues etc
Re: 'The Series S Version Can't Be Readily Recommended' - Digital Foundry Reviews Crimson Desert On Xbox
Unsurprising as it’s struggled on the ps5/X. Although improving, the devs do seem to be genuinely putting plenty of effort in to improve etc
Re: Xbox's State Of Decay 3 Finally Returns, Signups Now Live For Alpha Playtests
I enjoyed the second one - so looking forward to seeing what happens with this one, still sounds a year or so away
Re: Talking Point: Xbox GPU Members, What Do You Think Of 'Ubisoft+ Classics' So Far?
Id played most via ps sub, so it wasn’t great for me and I don’t play Fortnite so it all factored into me dropping to premium
Re: Sony Announces Major PS5 Price Hikes, Here's How They Compare To Xbox Series X|S
@IOI funnily enough everything I’ve seen is slating Sony, exactly like ms got at the time and what both deserved. Neither are our friends!
Re: Sony Announces Major PS5 Price Hikes, Here's How They Compare To Xbox Series X|S
Ridiculous increase by Sony. They sell enough to absorb at least part of that - especially as they were reported to be making a profit on each console a while back.
But honestly I expected helix to be £999 now I’m thinking it may be £1200.
Gaming is fast becoming unaffordable for many.

Re: New Xbox Boss Has Considered 'Pricing Revamp' For Game Pass, Claims Report
All they needed to do 6 months or so ago was increase GPU to £18 with no extras.
It would have been received much better.
Re: Xbox Series X Gets Major 'Just For You' Discount On The Microsoft Store
So USA only? And for a small handful of people? But everyone raving.
But screw everyone else who isn’t offered this deal right! Everyone should have access to the same deal.
Re: Talking Point: 20 Years Later, How Do You Feel About The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion In 2026?
Oblivion was really good. 20 years has gone fast! (And only one other proper elder scrolls in 20years is also sad)
It’s a shame the remastered version was poor. Deserved better.
Re: Crimson Desert Comparison Shows Difference Between Xbox Series X And Series S
Alot of people slating it. It’s weird how gamers latch onto a game and openly wish for it to fail.
It’s coming in around 80, it’s decently priced at £50 or so. And doesn’t actually seem to be a huge mess. Just sounds like it needs a few updates.
Re: Xbox's Starfield Is Already One Of The Top Three Pre-Orders On PS5
@Banjo- you have literally tagged and copied my post in this thread. When I never once mentioned your name. Nor your comments. With your thinly veiled insults. But that’s fine that you believe otherwise and haven’t done that.
I still don’t believe an Xbox tax is real.
Re: Xbox's Starfield Is Already One Of The Top Three Pre-Orders On PS5
@Banjo- just the same as you trying to throw thinly veiled insults. But genuinely I try to ignore you. Because that’s easier
Re: Xbox's Starfield Is Already One Of The Top Three Pre-Orders On PS5
@shiny-enzo so what tax is it when a game scores higher on Xbox? Because games do indeed score higher on Xbox.
So how does that work on the tax scale?
Re: Xbox's Starfield Is Already One Of The Top Three Pre-Orders On PS5
@Banjo- I guarantee I’m not on every thread. Yet another person talking nonsense. Funny that.
If people actually checked the releases you would see that some score higher on Xbox, some score less and some even score the same.
That in itself shows there’s no bias. But I can happily cherry pick games where it scored higher on Xbox if you prefer?

Re: These 12 Games Are Coming To Xbox Game Pass (March 17 - April 7)
Gonna keep saying it, but premium is the better option currently.
Not one single ‘ultimate’ only game on console.
Re: Forza Horizon 6 Dev Wants A 'Rich' Tokyo, Japan As Team Admits FH5 Map Didn't Resonate
@Gemini53 https://www.purexbox.com/news/2025/07/forza-motorsport-team-reportedly-loses-nearly-50percent-of-staff-in-xbox-job-cuts
If they do return to it, it’s going to be a long time off. - but the track racers are also more niche.
Re: Forza Horizon 6 Dev Wants A 'Rich' Tokyo, Japan As Team Admits FH5 Map Didn't Resonate
@Gemini53 yes it’s shelved. The team
Got pretty much destroyed in the job cuts last year.
Re: Microsoft's 'This Is An Xbox' Post Taken Down As Fans Wonder If The Controversial Ad Is No More
@TheGameThrifter luckily he would call it our product and not a Big Mac!
Re: Microsoft's 'This Is An Xbox' Post Taken Down As Fans Wonder If The Controversial Ad Is No More
@FuzzieGinge88 had the focused on advertising their series consoles, not raising the prices to the extent they did, had consoles available in stores and countries -they highly likely wouldn’t have needed a ‘this is an Xbox campaign’
Re: Tech Journalist Predicts A Price Of 'At Least $1,000' For Xbox Project Helix
I can’t see it being less than £999/$1200. They’ve already said it’s premium
Ps6 will come in £800ish
Re: Microsoft CEO On Xbox's Future: 'We'll Always Invest In Gaming'
I think most people expect MS to continue in the software side. That’s never been questioned really.
It’s still going to have questions around the next console.
